Emma Stone In Tom Ford & Brock Collection – ‘Battle of the Sexes’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere & After-Party

Following the HFPA & InStyle TIFF Party I was excited to Emma Stone’s second look for the ‘Battle of the Sexes’ Toronto Film Festival premiere on Sunday (September 10).

Sadly, I was left a little deflated.

I do love the impeccable cut and modern detailing on her Tom Ford dress, but that is about it.

If I’m honest, I think I blonde hair is throwing me off.

At first I thought the dress was washing her out until I saw better pictures, then I wanted to blame the makeup, but the warm amber tones complement the gold accents, so the only thing left is the hair.

Classic white Tom Ford pumps and a Tom Ford gold screw clutch completed her look.

When I saw her after-party look I was even more convinced that the hair isn’t working for me. How can she be wearing a black Tom sequined blazer, shirt and Brock Collection ‘Wright’ denim jeans combo and looked so washed out?

I believe her hair is this color for her role in Maniac which is currently filming, which is ashame because these looks would be elevated x100 with her usual crimson tresses.

Two great outfits ruined by the hair colour. Me sad.

The combination of her hair & makeup is terribly unflattering here, especially under the harsh lighting of the after-party photos.

I like the dress but the creases are unfortunate. Hate the shoes and her hair isn’t good either. She looks washed out.

The warm eyeshadow is definitely washing her out, she’s too pale for it. The hair really isn’t helping.

    Too bad for the creases…

She looks beautiful, it’s a chic, modern look, but…I also expected to be excited by her look and I’m not. I guess I hoped for a bit more drama for the first proper red carpet premiere of this movie?
I also saw pictures where she wore a white Tom Ford coat over her shoulders and she looked impeccably chic with the additional coat, I almost wish she had kept it on for the photocall. Then again, it would potentially have hidden the straps, which would’ve been an issue, too.

Basically, it’s a good look and I would have loved it at a different, smaller premiere maybe, but for this one, I just expected… more.

“If I’m honest, I think I blonde hair is throwing me off. ” same here. This is too matchy matchy with her shoes, dress skin tone and hair.
