Nicki Minaj In Oscar de la Renta – Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

After her Latex looks at the MTV Video Music Awards, I wasn’t sure what to expect next from Nicki Minaj on the red carpet.

But, she returned to her more glamorous ways at the Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ event on Friday (September 8) in New York City.

She actually took a far left turn in the glam lane, with this feminine and romantic Oscar de la Renta Fall 2017 gown that was void of a plunge, slit, mullet or body-con silhouette, all of which she tends to favour.

For that alone, I was drawn to the look.

But, given the crush of colourful embellishment already enlivening the dress, the jewels were completely unnecessary as they competed for the spotlight. Then again, Nicki was never one to be a minimalist.

This is maybe her best look ever, or her best dress ever. I really really wish she didnt go overboard with the necklace, I could even take the hair as is…..however the necklace overdid it. But I am still going to accept this because I know how low her fashion can go.

The dress is lovely but the hair and necklace are totally ruining it.

I would’ve loved this…on anyone else. And the necklace definitely took it too far.

She ruined a perfectly fine dress.

I feel bad writing this, but, poor dress.

I think I would’ve LOVED this without the necklace, with better makeup, and with her black hair (probably pulled up). I know over the top is her thing, but I wish she reigned it in for this look because that amazing dress really speaks for itself.

I love this when you are so genuinely surprised that someone looks actually pretty good that you start believing in the good in the world again. Is it flawed? Of course it is, what’s up with that clunky silver jewellery and bodice looks damn uncomfortable but that all doesn’t even really matter because she actually looks, well, pretty damn good.
(That embroidery really is a dream.)

Her best look EVER. She looks sensational. The necklace is a bit too much, hard not to get distracted by it when the gown should’ve been doing it all but this is Nicki, she is OTT and I can look past it because she never looked this good.
