Refinery29’s 29Rooms Event

Refinery29 hosted an interactive funhouse of style, culture, and technology in New York City on Thursday (September 7), where a number of PYTs came out to play at this 3rd annual 29Rooms event.

Larsen Thompson: I absolutely love how Larsen used her look to echo the whimsy of the event. Her Arianne Elmy blouse with ruffled statement sleeves was perfectly balanced to the edgier, sleek shine of the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Fall 2017 trousers—all topped off with Alchimia Di Ballin ‘Kari’ boots for a retro-forward finish.

Shay Mitchell: Shay let the bold print of this Fausto Puglisi Resort 2018 oversized jacket do the talking. There was something about the fit that threw me off, though, as it appeared slightly haphazard. The chain necklaces also remained unnecessary.

Emma Roberts: Taking a more casual stance, Emma wore a romantic Victoria, Victoria Beckham Resort 2017 top styled with RE/DONE cropped, boyfriend denim jeans, Loriblu velvet sandals and an Olympia Le Tan ‘Meine Lieblingsmorde’ clutch for a fanciful finish. I love how the colour of her lipstick matched the lips on her clutch. It’s the small details, sometimes, that make all the difference.

Crystal Reed: The wildest part of this girly, golden-yellow look was Crystal’s Elizabeth & James ‘Eloise Field’ bag. Bordeaux ALDO ‘Vetrano’ pumps completed her look.

Rachel Bilson: Channeling a sense of schoolgirl charm, Rachel kept it simple in her white Maje blouse and black mini. I do like that she upped the ante just a bit with the metallic sandal.

Issa Rae: This Zimmermann floral design portrayed a relaxed, floaty vibe, with gigantic hoop earrings delivering an additional punch to which Issa often favours.

Ashley Benson: With another iteration of the menswear-as-women’s wear trend, Ashley donned a Brunello Cucinelli button-down shirt with an untied tie and high-waist trousers. I wish the shirt had come across as slightly more polished, but it clearly fit the ‘undone’ mood.
