Krysten Ritter In Julien Macdonald – ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’ New York Premiere

Whether you love Julien Macdonald’s designs or not, they always make a great impact on the red carpet, and that proved to be the case for the ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’ New York premiere with Krysten Ritter in attendance.

While I love the electric design of this flame-hued cut-out one-shoulder piece, I’m not so enamoured by everything else.

The hair feels too everyday blah for such a glistening piece and I don’t get the ankle strap black pumps here at all.

Does anyone else share my feelings about this look which had so much potential?

I completely agree. Hair and shoes bring it down, definitely.

She’s got attitude, though! I love it despite the styling.

Is the hem different between the runway version and what Krysten is wearing or is it just that the runway version is in motion and she is posed?

I don’t really like the dress but it looks good on her. I agree about the shoes and hair.

I wouldn’t normally like the dress, but it’s such a good choice for Krysten that I love it in this scenario.

I can live with the hair as it gives a relaxed sense of glamour but the shoes were a mistake, a sassy sandal was desperately needed.

She’s working the dress, but the shoes are a disaster. The hair doesn’t bother me as much, but it would have definitely been better in a sleek ponytail or something.

All in all, I prefer her after-party look.

I just looked up the after-party look and you’re right! Funny that she chose the (arguably) less formal dress for the main event.

I love this as is. I don’t mind the black pumps since they ground the look, and Krysten also has dark hair so it’s a nice counterpoint. Any updo would have ruined the easy, disco-era vibe of the dress IMO.

She’s my early BDOTW pick, along with Zoe Saldana.

Hair should’ve been up in a bun and silver sandals or red would’ve look better than simple black pumps!! Smh.

Kudos to the dress but that’s it

The dress looks good on her and I like the modifications made to the runway version are great. But, I don’t like the shoes with this.

I don’t really like the dress but it looks good on her.
Still, the styling, especially the shoes, is not working.
