Queen Letizia of Spain Kicks Off Her UK State Visit In Felipe Varela

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain arrived in London last night for a three-day state visit to the UK.

Today (July 12), the couple kicked off their visit with a trip to Horse Guards Parade.

Queen Letizia was a ray of sunshine in her buttercup yellow tweed-like knee length coat, worn over a bright yellow fitted dress both by Felipe Varela.

The matching bespoke MarĂa Nieto headpiece was no doubt given the royal seal of approval from the hat-loving Queen Elizabeth.

I so admire her bold choice for this occasion, as Queen Letizia often goes for understate looks.

The matchy accessories, plus the nude Prada pumps showcased just how considered her style is. Yellow pumps might have been a step too far.

Their quick but busy tour will be packed with private lunch at Buckingham Palace, afternoon tea at Clarence House and a State Banquet at the Palace with senior members of the Royal family.

I’m already excited to see the rest of her outfits, and to see if the Duchess will be at any of those functions.
