Gabrielle Union takes Menswear Spring 2018 Paris Fashion Week by storm

Gabrielle Union has taken the Menswear Spring 2018 edition of Paris Fashion Week by style storm, as she’s had more outfit changes than some models with a record seven looks and counting. Equally impressive, Dwayne Wade has been a style-forward partner-in-crime almost every step of the way.

Valentino Show: At the Valentino show on Wednesday (June 21), Gabrielle started off the whirlwind week with a relaxed note in a breezy, flowing Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 floral gown. Sure, it was a glorified maxi dress, but I was so pleased to see it without the runway’s sweater top. Plus, it translated beautifully on her. Dwayne Wade stood close by with his best, trend-forward attitude in place. He suited up in a Valentino plaid ensemble that was embroidered and chain-accented for additional edge. It was likely no accident that the three-piece suit’s plum-and-mint colour palette referenced Gabrielle’s dress.

Rick Owens Show: Outside the Rick Owens show on Tuesday (June 22), Gabrielle donned an Ellery Pre-Fall 2017 2017 oversized coat and skirt where she again pared back the original styling for a more effortless finish. Dr Martin shoes completed the look that took her on a retro fashion safari. Those familiar with the Rick Owens label will see every ounce of it in Dwayne’s sheer, extra-long tee and skinny white pants.

Louis Vuitton Show: Later that day, she struck a pose at the Louis Vuitton show and paid homage to the fashion house in head-to-toe LV. I love the effervescent energy that her curls brought to this straightforward frock. Jennifer Fisher jewels likewise added another touch of flair.

Berluti Show: Switching to a softer mood at the Berluti show on Friday (June 23), she was a vision in white with this Elie Saab Spring 2017 blouse and side-slit trousers accessorised by a M2MALLETIER Mini Collectionneuse bag and Stella Luna sandals. The wide plunge was a bit aggressive for my taste, but I do like the simplicity with which she wore the flowing drape of the look. The yang to Gabrielle’s yin, Dwayne took a sportier approach in a Berluti embossed track jacket styled with a cross-body bag and sneakers.

Balmain Show: Fringed and dangerous at the Balmain show, Gabrielle embraced the brand’s wild tiger motif in this Balmain Pre-Fall 2017 shirt and matching wrap skirt styled with tall legging boots. Perfectly coordinating in directional spirit, Dwayne impressed in his Balmain ensemble that featured a draped, wrap top worn under a crisp white blazer. I love how his experimental edge continued right down to his boots with mismatched neon laces.

Hermes Show: The hot, magenta hue of this Hermes Spring 2017 frock was brilliant on Gabrielle, and I love how she let the colour do all the talking by skipping the belt and styling the dress with sleek Paul Andrew shoes and Jennifer Fisher jewels.

Lanvin Show: Her seventh look wasn’t her luckiest at the Lanvin show on Sunday (June 25). I wanted to love this Lanvin Spring 2017 dress if only for its intense shade of electric sapphire. But, unfortunately, the awkward fit issues compromised my affection.
