Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie of York at Ascot 2017

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of York have been out and about at the Royal Ascot 2017 in Ascot, England.

Princess Beatrice: On Day 1 (June 20), Princess Beatrice’s interpretation of formal daywear had her channeling a garden spirit in this miniature-floral-bedecked Claire Mischevani cream dress styled with a Valentino clutch, Stuart Weitzman ‘Capsize’ shoes, and a Goldust Millinery bloom-topped hat to match. I have a feeling some might find this a bit too precious.

Princess Eugenie: Princess Eugenie was the yang to Beatrice’s yin in a black, polka-dot dress worn with Reiss ‘Ellen’ heels and a bespoke Ethan K clutch. The accent colours of her hat added a brighter note to the look.

Princess Eugenie: I preferred this Day 3 look on Wednesday (June 22) to the first one, as she took a more vibrant, streamlined approach in a strawberry-red Preen ‘Elle’ dress that featured a flattering, pleated fit. What resulted was the ultimate chic, ladylike silhouette enhanced with a slight note of stylish whimsy in her wide-brim hat that complemented the look well.

Princess Beatrice: While I loved the fresh blue hue of this Amanda Wakeley dress, the colour-block sleeves gave me pause as they nearly looked as if she was wearing a black shirt under a cap sleeve. The overall fit of the frock could have also been a bit more smooth. A Nerida Fraiman hat, Nicholas Kirkwood pumps, and a Chanel bag completed the look.

Princess Eugenie’s Preen dress scored the highest marks for me. What about you?
