Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men have been making the rounds over the past few days, with the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards, premieres, and more all providing reason for them to hit the red carpet.

Matt Bomer: An army-green suit is not one we see on the daily. So, this Todd Snyder ensemble at the CFDA Fashion Awards really caught my eye—especially with the contrasting, tuxedo racing stripes down the side. It was a clever juxtaposition of formal-wear with a sportier vibe in the cropped pants and socks-less loafers. But, I do wish the pants had been pressed.

Tom Cruise: Tom joined Sofia Boutella and Annabelle Wallis for the premiere of ‘The Mummy’ in Mexico City, where he wore an Ermenegildo Zegna Made to Measure three-piece suit. Sure, he looked handsome. But, with a Made to Measure suit, I would have expected a more precise, polished fit as the fabric seemed to crease and pull at various places here.

Donald Glover: Donald was at the Atlanta For Your Consideration screening in New York City, where he wore a Gucci ‘Donald Duck’ cardigan for our consideration. I actually found myself liking the playful, cartoonish spirit. I would have opted for black pants or denim jeans as opposed to these dark navy trousers as they seemed to be the odd man out.

Armie Hammer: With Elizabeth Chambers at his side, Armie took a more laid-back approach to his style at the CFDA Fashion Awards. He wore his black Tom Ford suit quite nonchalantly with a handsomely relaxed sensibility and left Elizabeth to bring the dazzle in her Tom Ford shimmering mini.

Common
: Common was also at the ‘Megan Leavey’ premiere alongside Kate Mara, where his double-breasted Prada suit was rendered in an earthy brown hue that wasn’t the easiest to pull off. He did try to lighten the mood with a baby-blue dress shirt but the overall effect looked strained.
