Brit Marling In Sies Marjan – 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards

Brit Marling channeled her softer side for the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 5) in New York City.

Enveloped in the romantic drape of a dusty-rose, bi-level Sies Marjan Fall 2017 dress, she conveyed a diaphanous ease of form.

However, this is by no means an easy look to pull off, given the looser silhouette in partnership with the clunky, lug-sole platforms.

I can understand why she opted to wear the quirky shoe, though, as this is the night to be more sartorially experimental. At least it was rendered in the tonal pink shade and not the runway’s brown version.

That said, she pulled it all off quite gracefully.

The shine of the fabric along with the shine of her hair make this outfit look very luxurious. I also really like those colors on her.
Aside from the shoes (which I can’t get on board with, and I don’t feel like trying to, either) and the fact that this made me think “perfect-for-pregnancy”, it’s a refreshing and interesting look, with a cool elegance.

I like everything about this look, shoes included.

On any other day this would’ve been just an okay look, but considering the apparently low bar the CFDAs set this year, she might be one of my favorites from the event (along with Janelle and Diane).

The shoes are ugly but she looks nice.

She’s pulling it off, which should not look so effortless. And I’m still having my doubts about the shoes.

This is something I never thought I’d like, I’m surprised at how much I love it (ankles up, of course)! The structure of that skirt and the fact that it looks so polished and not creased, together with the contrast of textures, keeps me interested. The colour is delightful for her complexion and hair. A total win for me, I’ll just picture it with sandals.

This is so interesting, I love it – ankles up.

Love the look but hate the shoes. Although we should be relieved that she didn’t wear the even uglier brown ones from the runway.

      agreed!

Also I must say her hair is so shiny and GORGEOUS it nees to be featured in a hair shampoo commercial.
I wonder what product I should use to get those envious tresses.

At least the satin skirt is not creased, that’s a relif.
    Those shoes are an eyesore

Preach. I’m seeing so many creases lately I feel they’re on trend.

Nice dress and color tone. Not an easy silhouette to pull off, but she sell it to me. Hate those clunky shoes, however.

+1. Minus the shoes this is a solid look

  12. Nadia99 June 6, 2017 at 04:21 #

She looks like an edgy princess. Love it!

    • Alina June 6, 2017 at 06:26 #

Me too! She pulls it off.

I like the interesting dress, the pink works delightfully for her, loving her fresh beauty look, but those shoes are too much – a nice sandal and it would’ve been fine.

    • Nat39 June 6, 2017 at 04:26 #

..I should’ve put it a bit differently – I don’t actually like the ensemble, but it works just fine on her.

I am not fashion forward enough to appreciate Brit’s style.
