If you have been waiting for something unique and non-princess-like to sweep you off your feet during Cannes Film Festival, may I present Diane Kruger.
It’s not often I get blow away by a Dior gown or the colour grey; but this scallop trimmed gown has a captivating outworldly beauty which is too powerful to ignore.
The choker, Chopard diamond necklace combo is annoying, when either would’ve suffice, but Cannes isn’t Cannes without some over-the-top bling.

Diane is my ultimate girl crush and queen.
She looks so breathtakingly beautiful and so regal too.
Regal. Beautiful. Ethereal. Perfect. WHY the choker??? I cannot unsee it. The necklace is so gorgeous. It ruined a potential BDOTY look.
finally, she has arrived. regal.
This is my queen and my queen is always perfect.
Diane always looks good in the blue / greyish color palette
This dress could eaily be mistaken as a PARDA gown, the choker needs to be burnt in fire.
Gorgeous woman. I dont mind the choker so much when the clutch is in view. Its a lovely romantic looking dress.
Is this custom? I don’t recall seeing it on the runway…?
Either way, she looks amazing! It’s such a beautful, well constructed gown.
I don’t get why she’s wearing that black chocker though…it reminds me of something Kendall and Bella will throw on to look “cool” and “edgy”. Diane is far more sophisticated than that!
The dress is stunning but not the chokers
The choker is juvenile. And I’d rather see her in Chanel. Why has she defected to Dior suddenly?
I think she looks great and the combination of necklace and choker actually works here for me, it kind of fits with the whimsical air of the look, especially considering the hairstyle.
Like, it’s not BODTY-good, but it’s still beautiful.
adore! don’t even mind the choker
This would have been on my BDOTY list, but I just can’t unsee the chocker….
I love the dress but I hate the addition of the choker
I don’t generally love tiered gowns but this one is beautiful. But, please lose the ridiculous black choker.
Now this is a gown that is deserving of the label ‘Dior’. Diane looks amazing. I can even get behind the choker on the occasion, she makes it work.
I hate that choker from the bottom of my heart. Other than that -she looks beautiful, delicate and princessy. I wish the color was a pale blue instead of the grey – but she is selling hte grey to me. Diane, pls pls burn tht choker.
The hairstyling is just too costume-y. I think she should’ve opted for more modern hairstyle.
Miuccia Prada, the Dr Jekyll and Hyde of fashion designers.
I only like the red carpet looks she designs for Léa Seydoux and Diane Kruger. And this is no exception. A gorgeous, romantic look.
I see where you’re coming from FC with regards to the choker, but for some strange reason it doesn’t bother me.
Ehm… I seriously don’t know where my head was, because I somehow misread this as Prada… not Dior. Whoops.
*hangs head in shame*
Was Prada before, FC corrected.
I don’t hate the ruffles, and I’ll count that as a win. I can get on board with the romantic hair for the look, but, as Coco would sort-of-say, take off two (sic!) items before you leave the house. Neither choker nor necklace add anything to this.
I’m not too fond of the dress and the black choker is ridiculous.
Beautiful but lose that black ribbon around the neck. Otherwise, perfection.
The addition of the black choker is inexplicable, but the gown is lovely and delicate, I love the scallop trim, she looks wonderful (although she tends to do these light blue/greyish looks all
the time).
… she’s been wearing this choker all season long with her other looks and it looks like she simply left it on b/c it’s her thing even though it has nothing to do with the look, I’m not on board with it.
I guess, apparently she was matching it to her black clutch seen in other pics.
Actually my thinking as well on the too often grey / silver tones of her gowns
As a result I get a vague deja vu from this
Deja vu-ish coming from her, exactly. She had a similar moment in Prada back at Cannes 2015, and now this Dior. It’s lovely, but I don’t find it particularly exciting.
Diane looks so beautiful, I love everything about it, including the 2 necklaces. It’s fresh, romantic and just brought a smile to my face.
Yuo know what ? I kinda like the choker plus the necklace. It adds something !
Gorgeous!
I’ve thought this was Dior.
I don’t like the choker, but it doesn’t bother me, this is a stunning look.
Diane, thank you.
I absolutely love this. Every teeny tiny detail. Classic meets modern in the best way.
+1.
+2!!!
I am so grateful for this look as well! I loooooove her sense of style and she will always be my Cannes’ queen. This is one of my favorite looks from this year’s festival hands down!!!
