Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton – ‘Wonderstruck’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Michelle Williams was back on the red carpet for the ‘Wonderstruck’ premiere during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival this afternoon (May 18), following the photocall this morning.

While I did expect her to wear custom Louis Vuitton, I didn’t expect to be underwhelmed.

At Cannes, the home of “only your best will do”, this mirco-studded gown falls way short.

I would go as far to say this feels a bit mumsy.

The only brief moment of joy was seeing this in motion as the gown features a split down the side and a draped cape, but alas, I’m clutching at straws.

Her smiling close-up is so pretty and fresh, she kinda makes this sweet Topshop dress work… ahem…

    The dress is so ugly…

I wish Michelle wore something that’s no LV
I feel she wears the same dress over and over again

Thats a yawn-inducing look. Not surprising though.

    Absolurely wonderful
    This woman is chic
And this LV gown is one of the best Ghesquiere has produced for the brand (and he has not produced many good ones for the RC)
Julianne and the Chanel gown (though both powerhouses) do not register next to it
Hopefully something will top this this festival

This looks HORRIBLE, like something a first year dressmaker would make during a Black Friday sale. Her partnership with LV has seriously stifled her mojo.

You can get a way better dress at Mango. Like seriously. What happened to Michelle’s style? She used to look fab :/

FC, you need to know this, Cannes was not the same without you. XOXO

    Boring as per

Drop Kate Young, drop Louis Vuitton, they’re killing you, Michelle.

Oh this is bad – dull, dowdy, and even looks poorly made. I don’t expect much from LV but this is even below my ‘under-expectation’. Awful.

      Exactly.

Reaching new levels of underwhelmed here. I’m sorry but this is not Cannes-worthy by any stretch of the imagination. And I agree it looks mumsy.

It even looks poorly fitted around the bust, or at least very unflattering to her figure. Big no.

    • Catherine Kallon May 18, 2017 at 16:59 #

yes, the fit is quite poor too 🙁

I’m disappointed as well. But this is Michelle Williams, considering what she wore to the Golden Globes and Oscars, or the mini dress she wore to the BAFTAs, we should probably have expected something like this. But thanks to the gorgoeus photo call look, I really got my hopes up.
I mean, it’s not bad at all, but it… just is boring and falls flat. Although I’m sure it looks nice in motion.
