2017 Cannes Film Festival

After months of talking about it, Cannes Film Festival finally kicks off today.

With Fan Bingbing and Jessica Chastian in the jury, and Nicole Kidman promoting four, yes 4 four projects over the next 12 days, it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting festivals in recent times.

Italian actress Monica Bellucci will be holding court as mistress of ceremonies; so I wonder if she’s opt for a colour other than black or red for the opening ceremony.

Who else should we be looking out for?

Names on this year’s bill include Diane Kruger (‘Aus dem Nichts/In the Fade’), Tilda Swinton and Lily Collins (‘Okja’), Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst (‘The Beguiled’), Isabelle Huppert (‘Happy End’), Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams (‘Wonderstruck’), Bérénice Béjo (‘Redoutable’), Alicia Silverstone (‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’), and Eva Green and Emmanuelle Seigner (‘Based on a True Story’).

L’Oréal Paris will be bringing its brand ambassadors to the event.

The line-up for this year includes Gong Li (May 17), Deepika Padukone (May 17-18), Susan Sarandon (May 17 and 18), Deepika Padukone (making her debut on May 17 and 18), Thylane Blondeau (May 18 and 19), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (May 19-20), Liya Kebede (May 20), Andie MacDowell (May 21 and 22), Sonam Kapoor (May 21 and 22), Eva Longoria (May 22 and 23), Doutzen Kroes (May 23), Bianca Balti (May 24), Barbara Palvin (May 23 and 24), Lara Stone (May 24) and Maria Borges (making her debut on May 24).

I’ve seen pictures of Chris Lee in Cannes, but I am not sure of her dates and I know Araya A. Hargate is also expected.

Sadly, no mention of Blake Lively. Cheryl Cole just had a baby, so I’m guessing that may rule her out.
