2017 NBCUniversal Upfront Red Carpet Roundup

Many more notable names joined Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian at the 2017 NBCUniversal Upfront on Monday (May 15) in New York City.

America Ferrera: The actress was awash in a lovely spring fever with this ladylike Saloni ‘Grace’ off-the-shoulder, floral-print frock. Too bad about the pumps, as a sandal in an equally vibrant hue would have been far more suitable.

Nicole Richie: Laid-back elegance defined these classically simple Josie Natori cami with a Galvan Resort 2017 wrap skirt.

Jessica Biel: Designer Roland Mouret’s signature sharp silhouette and folded detailing morphed into a look of ultimate feminine sophistication in this ‘Sawleigh’ peplum dress in a rich cranberry hue. It fit Jessica like a beautiful glove.

Jamie Alexander: Also exploring a darker, richer colour palette, Jamie wore an eggplant-hued Cushnie et Ochs Pre-Fall 2017 ruched dress with a cutout in the back for added allure. Her violet sandals added an unexpected, fun twist.

Jenna Dewan Tatum: This entrancing shade of deep violet-blue was so perfect for Jenna, with the cut of the David Koma Fall 2016 dress also a striking yet simple silhouette that was effortlessly chic.

Amy Poehler: While I can appreciate Amy’s embrace of this palette of vivid hues, the dress unfortunately had an unflattering, mumsy quality to it. And, her barely-there makeup and navy pumps didn’t exactly help matters.

Jennifer Hudson: Jennifer is never one to give her legs the night off. And, she showed them off in signature form in this black and white Saint Laurent mini. However, with the ankle-strap shoes and heavy-duty choker, it just seemed a few steps away from fresh.

Mindy Kaling: Sure, this dress was more on the conservative side with its cut. But the graphic mix of artsy patterns ensured that it still took centre stage.

Jennifer Beals: Had Jennifer styled this hot-pink Cedric Charlier suit without the ruffled blue blouse and white pumps—and with a sleeker bun—I think it could have been dynamic rather than dated.

Mandy Moore: Returning to a ladylike chic form, Mandy mixed sweater-style patterns with a sheer lace in this eclectic DVF ensemble worn with Tamara Mellon shoes.

Kristen Bell: Like Jennifer Hudson, Kristen went for a black-and-white T-shirt vibe in this Victoria Beckham Resort 2016 dress that felt significantly more modern regardless of your take on the mustard pumps.

Khloe Kardashian: Sleek was the name of Khloe’s game in this Versace zippered design that was as streamlined as her straight locks. Naturally, she wore Yeezy heels although I would have preferred something less Lucite.
