King Harald of Norway and Queen Sonja of Norway 80th Birthdays Gala Dinner

The celebration for the 80th birthdays of King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway continued with an Opera House gala dinner in Oslo, Norway.

Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece: The rainy gloom would be no match for Princess Marie-Chantal’s Valentino sheer-bodice gown and its rosy medley of hues and patterning.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark: The same goes for this bright Erdem gown, which I love for its pristine, creamy white hue and explosion of floral in bold yet sophisticatedly subtle hues throughout.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands: With look from her other favoured designer, Claes Iversen, this bronze design was beautifully crafted with royal-blue lace overlay that shimmered with tonal sequins for an ultimately regal mood. Sapphire and diamond jewels enhanced the effect.

Princess Tatiana of Greece: Although the nude illusion neckline of this Celia Kritharioti soft, flowy design wasn’t so invisible, what was of more concern to Princess Tatiana was shielding the long train from the rain.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway: The deep navy hue of this Marte Krogh embroidered lace gown lent a dramatic richness, especially with her platinum-blonde curls. A tonal VBH clutch finished the look.

Princess Sofia of Sweden: I love the slight bohemian sensibility in this white Alexis dress, which was imbued with the label’s signature sheer lace effects and effortless femininity of form. Gold accessories added a luxe mood.

Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg: Duchess Stéphanie echoed the beautifully saturated emerald jewel tones of her Paule Ka gown in her statement necklace.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden: Also opting for the brightness of florals, Crown Princess Victoria wore them in bold, bright hues in an Acne dress. A high side slit and large tassel earrings made this look one of sophisticated sass.

Queen Mathilde of the Belgians: Sparkling embellishment added a festive flair to the elegance of this royal blue gown.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex: Although this gown may have been rendered in a neutral hue, the textural silver patterning and its dramatic silhouette ensured it was far from lacklustre.

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway: Neutral colours had no place in the lively, bright palette of this Ingunn Birkeland dress that certainly radiated through the cloudier weather.
