Coachella Fashion 2017
The first weekend of Coachella 2017, held April 14 to 16, in Indio, California brought with it a bevy of beauties clad in their free-spirited desert best for the music and arts festival.
Chanel Iman: While sometimes the fringe, highlighter hair, and other trends of Coachella can be tiresome, the model was everything you’d want festival fashion to be. Perhaps that is because her Rachel Zoe Collection look hailed from the designer queen of boho-chic herself. The ‘Kayla’ fringe coat was beautifully embroidered, but it all came together with the leather belt, MCM crossbody bag, and Chanel’s whimsical pastel braids.
Alessandra Ambrosio: Both playful and sexy, this paisley romper packed in plenty of personality thanks to the supermodel’s styling including a wide-brim hat, retro shades, and Giuseppe Zanotti black boots.
Kate Bosworth: The actress was also in a Rachel Zoe Collection ensemble, hers heavy on the casual-chic factor with its off-the-shoulder blouse and wide trousers with racing stripes down the sides. An MCM crossbody bag crisply finished the look, with a pair of embellished Roger Vivier sandals contributing to the laid-back mood.
Kendall Jenner: Some might say that Kendall appears overdressed or overstyled here. But I will applaud her for not doing the cliches Coachella look. The unique this look is for this event and has many intriguing qualities.
Kylie Jenner: Donning yet another new wig, the reality star showcased her toned figure wearing a sexy TLZ L’FEMME snakeskin two-piece. I can’t see Kylie jumping on the fringed bag and denim shorts look either, so this suits her style and personality.
Jamie Chung: There were many great looks at Coachella, but this look feels fresh and fun; mostly due to the pops of yellow via her Via Spiga sandals, sunny shades and her For Love and Lemons ‘Limonada’ crop top.
Romee Strijd: While this eclectic mashup of an ensemble would only pass at Coachella, I couldn’t help but love the vibrant clutter—from the red track jacket to the western belt and camo skirt. Of course, who can forget the fringe fanny pack and the piles of bangles and wristbands for festival cred, naturally.
Hailee Steinfeld: Girly and grunge merged together in this flowy, floral Zimmermann wrap dress grounded by black combat boots.
Sophie Turner: The ‘Game of Thrones’ girl kept it simple yet sassy in a tongue-in-cheek ‘Muscle’ tee and pink-dusted hair that matched her magenta booties.
Emma Roberts: With a feminine lace look that wouldn’t have been out of place outside the Coachella bubble, the actress was lovely in a pristine white Sea New York dress paired with a Paula Cademartori bag, By Far boots and big round sunnies. Clearly, she was unfazed by any desert dust.
Emma Roberts: Another Coachella event, another dress, as Emma changed into this darling gingham number with ruffled sleeve cuffs. I love that she added retro appeal via her oversized sunglasses and that she wore lavender sandals instead of the ubiquitous black boots that would have been an easy option here.
Emma Roberts: For her third look of the weekend, she again whipped out a pair of statement shades, this cat-eye version from Karen Walker. At an angle, the tight, black button Aritzia top and shorts could almost pass for a vintage swimsuit—especially with those shades—but the floral-accented booties and striped blazer quickly brought it back to Indio land.
Vanessa Hudgens: Black gingham also found its way to Vanessa’s two-piece look, which did not lack in the accessories department.
Olivia Culpo: Desert-chic and even sporting stilettos, Olivia paired this striped Isabel Marant jumpsuit with a Chloe ‘Drew’ bag. But, let’s face it, her main accessory was side boob.
Victoria Justice: Singing a red bohemian rhapsody, Victoria donned a flowing Chelsea and Walker cold-shoulder dress accented with a touch of western spirit via a Love & Strength snakeskin belt and wide-brim hat.
Jamie Chung: The Rachel Zoe Collection made its third appearance in this ruffle dress that could pull double-duty as a swimsuit cover-up. She styled it with Freda Salvador ‘Star’ booties.
Alessandra Ambrosio: The supermodel swapped her previous romper for a vintage Rolling Stones tee styled with a high, rocker-girl touch in The Mighty Company ‘Le Mans’ jacket, Bvlgari ‘Serpenti Forever’ bag, and Oliver Peoples ‘Nickol’ sunglasses. I love the literal and figurative lippy quality of this cheeky look.
Emily Ratajkowski: From the waist down, you’d never guess the casual black denim and suede boots would have any sexy appeal at all. But, on Emily, all bets were off with the midriff top and wavy locks adding a feminine, sultry note to the hybrid ensemble. A Maison Margiela Mini bag finished the look.
