Emily Blunt In Alexander McQueen – 2017 BAFTAs

Emily Blunt bought the drama to the 2017 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 12) in London, England.

Thank goodness for this dress! I love Emily, and her usual style, but her Cavalli Couture gown for the SAG Awards wasn’t her best look, so I’m so glad she has bounced back and is on top form once again.

The striking and complicated medieval embroidery to the top of this dress is classic Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton, the Head Designer at the House, is a fan of whimsical and romantic embellishments, and the flowers and doves here are gorgeous.

And the ruffled and layered skirt adds just enough dimension to this gown to be visually stunning from any angle. It’s a trend from this red carpet too – layered skirts are in!

Lorraine Schwartz jewels finish Emily’s look perfectly.

Are you a fan of this dress?

from the waist up I’m in love with this look. the glam and the accessories are on point.
However I’m not a big fan of the skirt, it kind of brings the whole thing down

It’s better than the Cavalli but I don’t love it.

This instantly reminded me of Cate Blanchett last year as well, and I really loved her dramatic feathered skirt version. Emily’s ruffles aren’t quite as great (they’re sort of hanging and seem a tad long), but it’s still a great look, loving the eye-catching bodice, fab hair/makeup and complimentary blue earrings. Very good.

Would’ve loved this on Cate Blanchett (she wore a similar one last year and rocked it), however, I find this quite aging on Emily.

My favorite of the night so far!!
She’s bringing some much needed drama to the BAFTA.

One of the best of the night alongside Emma and Anya, I’m loving this head to toe and can’t stop looking at it.

Didn’t Cate Blanchett already wear this?

I also thought about Cate Blanchett when I saw this dress. It’s not the same dress, but they look alike.

Blanchett wore a very similar (and far better imo) version of this dress to the baftas last year
