amfAR New York Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Many more models were in attendance at the 19th Annual amfAR New York Gala, honouring Donatella Versace, on Wednesday (February 8) in New York City.

Adriana Lima: Although she wasn’t dressed in Versace, the supermodel’s Zuhair Murad dressing gown-inspired design, paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, brought plenty of seductive appeal. While the lace lingerie aesthetic is nothing new, there’s no denying that Adriana—and her dramatic red lip—delivered the look with smoldering allure that could easily make us forget the sheer fatigue.

Liu Wen: Compared to Adriana, the model’s Rita Vinieri black and white gown seemed mighty tame. Yet I loved the ease with which she wore this minimalistic moment that was assured of a classically sophisticated standing at the event. Giuseppe Zanotti sandals finished the look.

Josephine Skriver: The gorgeous silhouette of this Valentin Yudashkin gown had me at hello. The dress, which looked like liquid chain mail, showed just the right amount of skin, with Harry Winston earrings and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals adding another layer of shine.

Emily DiDonato: While the hourglass effect of this black Hamel gown was striking, the bigger surprise was the beautiful lattice cutout from the back. She styled the dress with Lena Erziak metallic clutch and Le Vian diamond earrings.

Anna Cleveland: Had the fit of this Galvan Resort 2017 gown been slightly better, it would have more effectively delivered the boudoir-meets-rock star vibe that I believe Anna was going for with the thigh-high garter stockings.

Iman: The candy-red hue of the model-icon’s Zac Posen gown was all she needed to make a dynamic statement. The pile of gold David Webb bracelets helped, too.

Hilary Rhoda
: The model strutted out a stunning profile in a Brandon Maxwell Fall 2016 dress that I loved for its impeccable structure and elegant nod towards seductive appeal that highlighted her enviable figure. This is the gorgeous gown alter-ego of a tux and tails.

Liya Kebede: Bringing a tougher edge to this white Versace ruffle frock, Liya wore it with black ankle booties and a chain-link clutch. However, the one-sleeve design and the lack of a bolder beauty look had me feeling like something was out of sync.

Barbara Palvin: Like Adriana, Barbara relied on the familiarly sexy power of black, plunge, sheer, and lace in her Elie Saab Fall 2016 gown, increasing the glam factor with swept-back locks and diamond earrings.
