Nicole Kidman In Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta & Valentino Couture – 2017 Golden Globe Awards, 2017 Winter TCA Tour & ELLE’s Women in Television

Naturally, Nicole Kidman was also spotted at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 8) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Then, she attended the 2017 Winter TCA Tour on Wednesday (January 11) at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California followed by ELLE’s Annual Women in Television Celebration 2017 on Saturday (January 14) at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California.

2017 Golden Globe Awards: Gravitating too far into the theatrical realm, this swirling silver-sequined Alexander McQueen number left me wanting to lop off the sheer, pouf sleeves for starters.

2017 Winter TCA Tour: While the mauve hue of this Bottega Veneta dress was a bit on the dreary side, the ladylike structure and feminine pleating was lovely on Nicole. The shine factor from her metallic sandals provided a subtle flash that was a welcome finish for her on-stage look at the ‘Big Little Lies’ panel held during the TCA Tour.

ELLE’s Women in Television: The actress can clearly wax too dramatic in her fashion statements at times (see Golden Globes), but this Valentino cap-sleeve frock nearly overcorrected too far in the opposite direction. We’ve seen minimalist fashion done far more inspiringly. Here, a bigger statement earring or a necklace—even a sleeker hairstyle—might have helped this period neckline that was screaming for something.

The sleeves on the McQueen prevent it from looking like the other strappy bustier gowns McQueen has done, most notably in the Pre-Fall and Resort collections. Rachel Weisz wore a similar strappy bustier gown silhouette to meet Prince William and Harry. Nicole’s sleeves have a purpose. The gown isn’t that theatrical. Would you prefer this or Reese Witherspoon’s meh gowns that only aren’t boring to the MiniVan Majority?

Like Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole is a fashion girl. She doesn’t dress for the MiniVan Majority, people who think Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Garner are stylish and believe anything People Magazine says, like Reese’s fans.

I agree with you about her shoe choice with the second look; the metallic strappy sandals are sexy and add a needed flash of modern touch. And you are dead-on about Nicole’s dry third look. Sheesh, how aging. Nicole can do better.

I don´t pretend to be mean, but she needs to age properly. The second look is my favorite because she is not trying to look younger.

Oh, dear. The second look is cute. The other two are just. Not working. I’m really getting a Havisham vibe for her recently.

The McQueen could have been so good…

The 2nd of the 3 easily – cute and feminine. Didn’t think her Globes look was good at all, and the last one didn’t do much for her. Overall, I feel like Nicole has been a bit off with her recent choices.
