Carey Mulligan In Gucci – 2015 British Independent Film Awards

Carey Mulligan In Gucci - 2015 British Independent Film Awards

Carey Mulligan attended the 2015 British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 6) in London, England.

The actress wore a Gucci Spring 2016 emerald, grey and silver lurex geometric jacquard gown featuring an embroidered bird and flower details which brings charisma to the sophisticated silhouette.

Methinks this will have an equal love-hate split.

I’m firmly in the love corner.

Firstly because this is such an unexpected look for Carey and secondly she manages to make it work by shaking off the geek-granny vibe we saw on the runway.

Love or loathe?

I love this. Wouldn’t wear it in a million years but on her it looks great

Nay, way too matronly for her.

One of the ugliest combinations of colors in a dress that I have ever seen. Thought at first that the bird was the same horrible bug on that hideous Gucci Dionysus bag currently being featured. Yet, weirdly, I like it on her.

I say roll bird and florals or go with the 80s style 3D graphic, but together the design is nonsense.

I think I would’ve liked this without that bird print, it’s too distracting. I do like her simple styling though.

No, no, no. If this is fashion then I don’t get it. Not to mention, there’s no presence whatsoever, she looks damn unpleased, looking at the outfit, I get it though.

I just can’t. That is really an ugly dress.

      Double LOVE! Everything works!

I agree–it is not my favorite dress in the world, but it is striking on her, and a nice change of pace. She looks great.

Shockingly, I really like it also. This is a dress I would normally despise bc of the busyness. But on her its totally working.

I like this. the dress is intriguing

  12. Chris December 7, 2015 at 15:01 #

Surprisingly, she pulls it off. I kinda love it.

  13. Alison December 7, 2015 at 14:14 #

Firmly in the Loathe corner for me. Dull, frumpy and ugly.

  14. Dee December 7, 2015 at 14:10 #

What I would normally find ugly she manages to pull off. I really like this look.

  15. Alina December 7, 2015 at 13:57 #

I’m in the ‘this is an ugly dress’ corner.

It’s a love from me!! Love Carey’s style and I’m a huge fan of Alessandro Michele at Gucci,so it could only be a winner for me!!!

I’m quite fascinated by the 3D pattern on a dress, but the bird and the rose are killing this look.

A rarity for me is a look from Carey that I really like but I really like this. I’m surprised by how much, she really pulls it off.

Hideous! Shame because I had liked most of her outfits since she started the promo.

    • meme December 7, 2015 at 13:56 #

I’m with you. This dress is way too busy and there’s too much of it.

    • pinksugar December 8, 2015 at 01:28 #

I agree. I was back on the Carey train, but this is hideous. An ugly dress is an ugly dress no matter how lovely who’s wearing it is.

What Petra has done with Carey’s style is a miracle! She finally has found a fashion identity,I LOVE every single thing she wears, the styling is on point, the hair and makeup are perfect and I am just praying this doesn’t end. BDOTW contender imo

It’s been in the back of my mind to find out who her new stylist is. OF COURSE it’s Petra Flannery! Fabulous. I’m thinking Carey will be my pick for most improved this year.
