Araya A. Hargate In Ashi Studio Couture – ‘Sicario’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

"Sicario" Premiere - The 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival

Araya A. Hargate attended the premiere of ‘Sicario’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 19) in Cannes, France.

Upon seeing the Thai actress glide down the red carpet like a beautiful swan I said to myself, ‘This is more like it.’

Not slit to the thigh, not bedazzled, not a bedsheet pretending to be a gown, this Ashi Studio Spring 2015 Couture gown, with its delicate embroidery and feather-festooned hemline, is what I have been craving at Cannes.

Drama, glamour and a touch of originality.

This should rank in my top 10 for this festival.

This is my third Ashi Studio gown to be added to my BDOTY contender list -after Laura Haddock and Sonam. I love the drama.

  8. Ariya May 20, 2015 at 06:08 #

Stunning! Though it is fall like and wintry and wouldn’t be out of place onthe sets of Game of Thrones this is the DRAMA I have been waiting for a L’Oréal girl to deliver.
After Fan and Julianne, she is the one who actually brang it. I love Sonam but she went into the dress wearing/overwhelming her territory this year.

What a true piece of art! Extremely gorgeous gown.
I also love the pop of red.

  10. minny May 20, 2015 at 05:44 #

She looks like a bride turning up at the wrong venue

  11. Marisa May 20, 2015 at 04:07 #

Araya looks so gorgeous in this dress, though I don’t like the high neck. If Araya doesn’t have perfect body and beautiful face like what she has, I don’t think it would look stunning.

    Well done.

This look is born to be a star. So beautiful ,you are my princess chompoo

Ashi studios really knows how to make big stunning gowns!
there’s no denying how gorgeous she looked in this couture piece, but If I had to nitpick, I wish her makeup to be a little lighter,it seemed too harsh against this delicate dress.

This is one of my favorite gown out of all the spring/summer 2015 couture shows! Ashi Couture brings us a breath of fresh air as the dresses is very delicate and the beading is extraordinary, without sooo muchh crystal-beading like Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad or other couturier!! Araya is bringing this dress to life! fits to perfection and i love how she glided down the red carpet with no flaws!!!! UH MA ZING! cannes worthy dress!

Gorgeous and love the drama! Its awfully heavy for this season but its got the beauty and glamour so it passes. Love the way she styled it. A best dressed for sure.

    Absolutely not for me.

  17. Christine May 19, 2015 at 21:38 #

This is so lovely. Love this!

The weight, feathers and wintry feel made me think of Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark’s wedding gown, she just married Ramsay

    • aa May 20, 2015 at 04:44 #

+1 It made me think of Sansa too!

    • Ariya May 20, 2015 at 05:50 #

+2 It was the first thing that came to my mind.

And that, ladies and gents, is a princess gown (also, yay for feathers done right!). The embroidery on this gown looks exquisite – I think she looks beautiful.

  20. MatBer May 19, 2015 at 20:24 #

I think the gown looks heavy … although at the same time perfect for ballroom dancing …

It doesn’t really spell high fashion to me.

  21. EmmaWoodhouse May 19, 2015 at 20:10 #

Love how ornate and high-fashion this! BDOTY-worthy for being striking, ethereal, intricate and overall fantastic! THIS is the kind of gown I look for at Cannes!

    • bfly May 19, 2015 at 21:29 #

      Agree, wfw!

This is my favorite look of the entire festival so far. So incredibly beautiful and glamorous! But my first thought I have to admit is that she must be burning up in that thing! It looks very wintry and heavy. Nonetheless, she completely killed it. This is what Cannes is about!

  23. Arie May 19, 2015 at 19:36 #

If Sonam was a green bird yesterday, Araya is a polar bear today.

  24. nat May 19, 2015 at 19:35 #

    Stunning dress

  25. from-chitown May 19, 2015 at 19:31 #

I prefer this so much more than Sonam’s look. This does bring the drama despite being seasonal inappropriate.

  26. Nat39 May 19, 2015 at 19:25 #

Glad to see some drama but despite it being a piece from the spring collection it feels a tad heavy with both the long sleeves and the high neck, and her beauty look is a bit too harsh with that makeup and severe hair – it doesn’t feel like the look “breathes”. Still one of the most note-worthy dramatic entrances of the event.

    • Nat39 May 19, 2015 at 19:27 #

it feels rather wintry in fact.

  27. pinksugar May 19, 2015 at 19:19 #

This feels a little heavy/fall like for Cannes but there’s no denying it is a masterpiece of a gown. She wears it well.

  28. Nadia99 May 19, 2015 at 19:19 #

That gown is a piece of art, imo.

    • Rashmi May 20, 2015 at 05:04 #

+1. Can’t get over the details. Its beyond gorgeous.

  29. Dedel May 19, 2015 at 19:18 #

I love the pop of color via her red lipstick. It doesn’t matter if it not “season appropriate” because it was not that warm today in Cannes. And frankly I thought it was from Elie Saab, it reminded me of Sonam’s dress of yesterday.

  30. Alina May 19, 2015 at 19:16 #

Stunning! If I were to nitpick, I would say her hair is a little too severe with the central parting. But she looks so good compared to all the disasters we’ve seen so far at Cannes, that I would give this a perfect 10.

  31. Yeliz May 19, 2015 at 19:15 #

I think I would’ve preferred this sleeveless, but she looks fantastic nonetheless.

  32. Zineb May 19, 2015 at 19:15 #

Haha you cracked me up at the Versace diss “not a bedsheet pretending to be a gown”.
Ashi Studio already designed a BDOTY worthy gown (Sonam’s at a L’oreal event) and I think this one is beautiful.
