Rihanna In Guo Pei Couture – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

Rihanna shut down the red carpet at the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

We can always count on the songstress to wake us from any sartorial-fueled slumber with her no-holds-barred style. And she delivered in true form here, donning an elaborate couture number by Chinese designer Guo Pei.

Intricately embroidered and edged in fur, the cape-style coat extended nearly the entire length of the first set of those iconic stairs for maximum impact. At times, the top half of her hot-pink bodysuit peered over the edge of the fur for a hint of edgy allure.

But the real story here was the majestic regality of the coat, which was only magnified with her metallic, floral-shaped headpiece and gold choker necklace. She completed the look with Christian Louboutin ‘Toerless Muse’ pumps.

Love it or hate it, it’s audacious looks such as this that truly embody the essence of Met Gala fashion.
