Chloë Sevigny In J.W. Anderson – 2015 Met Gala

Chloë Sevigny was also in attendance at the 2015 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

The actress wore a custom J.W. Anderson front-slit gown notable for its mixed embroidery and tapestry influences that were no doubt selected for the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ theme.

The richness of the fabrication was compromised by the styling, though.

There were simply one (or several) too many accessories cluttering the look—from the double bracelets and rings to the choker necklace and earrings. Yet even with their removal, I don’t know that I would be on board with this look.

Just a tad more on theme (thank god for embroidery!), so Katy is keeping her WDOTE so far.

No, no and hell no. Jewelry is horrible and the dress is a nightmare. To quote another poster about SJP, deep sigh.

This is a poor costume. I see no effort in making her look good, in this.

Not the right way to play the theme. What a mess.

Well I expected a mess from her. She stayed on theme kinda, but the dress is hideous. The mess of pattern and design. It looks like someone designed the top part and then another designed the bottom part, without collaborating together, and sewed the pieces together.

A mess, and she REALLY needs professional hair and makeup artist.

She’s my favorite so far. It’s very interesting I love the victorian / oriental l vibe going on here. It feels very colonial Shanghai to me.

Whatever she wears, I always get a hot mess vibe coming from her.

I agree. Also I hope that the top of the dress has some industrial tape going on or she’s could lose errr face. Yeah, that’s the word “face”.
