Jessica Chastain In H&M Conscious Collection – 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Jessica Chastain In H&M Conscious Collection - 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Jessica Chastain attended the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday (February 22) in Beverly Hills, California.

Going from high-end in Givenchy Couture, she wore high street in the form of this H&M Conscious Collection dress to the party.

The white beaded number with a rise-and-fall hemline is a beautiful look, especially when styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Patsy’ sandals and a diamond necklace with a ruby pendant.

I’m pleasantly surprised considering the last H&M dress we saw on Oscar night was a total disaster. Remember Helen Hunt?

Despite the admiration, I still believe there were far better looks from both events. Jessica didn’t quite stand out for me on this night.

This is a dress for a photocall, at best.

    Unflattering and underwhelming.

Jessica Chastain should not be wearing this on Oscar night. What was her stylist thinking?!
It is so bad; the colour, the cut, the shoes…huge miss!

  4. Peony February 25, 2015 at 05:52 #

It’s been miss after miss for this beauty. This clearly looks cheap, the length is so awkward and the hemline incredibly dated. Styling does her no favours. On the upside, her hair and makeup – and that face – reliably beautiful.

  5. Christine February 25, 2015 at 01:27 #

The dress is clearly cheap. But her makeup and hair are beautiful.

  6. Nat39 February 25, 2015 at 01:05 #

Extra meh and unflattering. What happened??

  7. Phoenix February 25, 2015 at 00:32 #

This is freaking awful. Out of proportion, wrong color, too-heavy shoes, styled like shes a teen. wayyyy off.

All points correct. Painfully styled like a teen, thus the prom references. It’s horrific, really.

  8. Carrie February 24, 2015 at 22:03 #

Why?? For an event like this, why?

  9. TeaAtTwo February 24, 2015 at 20:55 #

The dress and shoes just look so cheap and dated. I can’t believe that this was selected.

  10. Larissa February 24, 2015 at 20:52 #

Jessica is a goddess but this dress is not doing her body any favours. Also, the shoes look kinda heavy.

i don’t think this works on her lovely figure

    • Bailey February 24, 2015 at 20:41 #

+1 Agreed, it kind of hangs off her and doesn’t accentuate her shape at all

  12. gabis February 24, 2015 at 18:22 #

Not good at all. This should’ve been saved for a another occasion.

  13. Marcel February 24, 2015 at 17:43 #

She looks cheap . Cheap like a prom dress from TV commercials. What a shame. I lost a bit of respect for her for wearing HM at an occasion like this.

  14. Yeliz February 24, 2015 at 15:56 #

Gorgeous hair and makeup as always. The dress is OK, it wasn’t her best night.

  15. pinksugar February 24, 2015 at 15:53 #

This whole getup feels like a cheap jr prom look. Jessica is on the road to losing her mojo a’la Amy Adams and Anna Kendrick for me.

  16. Charlotte February 24, 2015 at 15:47 #

    The dress looksreally cheap.
Plus the hemline and the styling make this look verdy dated.

Just boring. H&M can do better, like Penelope’s dress from last year. http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2014/03/03/penelope-cruz-hm-vanity-fair-oscar-party-2014/

Any one who wears H&M to the oscars is doing it for a pay check.

    Very disappointed in Chastain

  19. Alina February 24, 2015 at 15:06 #

From the waist up, she looks gorgeous. Her hair and makeup are flawless.
I don’t really like the skirt.

  20. EmmaWoodhouse February 24, 2015 at 15:05 #

That necklace is beautiful. Her hair is glorious. But the dress–it falls flat for me. Boring, a bit silly with the hemline.

  21. Vicky February 24, 2015 at 15:03 #

I think she wins the award for most beautiful, shiny hair. She’s had some bad hair moments in the past, but I coveted her hair during this awards show.
