Joanne Froggatt In Marchesa – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Joanne Froggatt In Marchesa - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Joanne Froggatt attended the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 11)  in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress, who won the award for ‘Best Supporting Actress for a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie,’ picked an embellished Marchesa dress for her award-winning night.

Though the gown is undeniably beautiful, the overall look was too busy for the ‘Downtown Abbey’ star. The milkmaid braids were too much with the beaded gown. Instead, a messy updo would’ve made a more cohesive look.

But the main problem with this ensemble is her earring choice. Between the dress and hair, Joanne’s outfit has an almost medieval theme; however, the pink dangling earring takes away from the look. A simple diamond stud would’ve made the world’s difference.

I love the way the crown braid makes this a very ethereal look! I think it’s beautiful

Love the colour of the earrings, but I agree on them and the hair, uh. Shame.

i actually love this look from head to toe.

Whilst it’s busy, I love that she went ‘all out’ and personally I think it works. She’s usually very minimalist, but it’s great to see her really make the most of the occasion. The hair could possibly have been improved by slightly less kitsch styling, but in reality I think she still looks amazing, big earrings and all.

Such a romantic look. She looks gorgeous.

Gown is divine. Hair is confusing – the bangs don’t go with the braids, and the earrings are tacky. Shame.

I think that this look works from h2t. Beautifully done.

Love everything except the hair. I don’t mind the earrings ’cause they mimic the embellishments at the bust.

I have a very hard time getting past the hair. Its just wrong.

I quite like it – hate to disagree with you FC! It is busy – but I think it works.

This is a gorgeous, gorgeous dress and while I actually don’t mind the earrings, I cannot lament that hair enough. I simply can’t believe a stylist chose to go with wispy bangs and braids. They are both totally at odds with the dress (imo) and the bangs obscure the earrings. Stunning dress on her, though.

i disagree with you FC. This dress looked stunning on her, evenbetter on the stage, as many people have mentioned and those pink earring were the perfect addition. I think she made a good choice with the hair up but ive never been a fan of milkmaid braids.

I actually like the earrings – such a nice to change to see something OTHER than the ubiquitous diamond stud!

Love Joanne, her style, her acting skills and her character. Love this look, even with the earrings.

I completely agree about the hair and the earrings, but I thought that the dress was absolutely beautiful, even better on screen.

  16. Nadine January 12, 2015 at 03:41 #

I like that there’s so much going on, it’s a change of pace from her more minimal styling done usually.

  17. Christine January 12, 2015 at 03:39 #

The dress was gorgeous on the screen as she walked up the stage. She made it work
