Get The Look: Dascha Polanco’s Emmy Awards Ethereal Beauty Look

66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - ArrivalsUnlike her character on ‘Orange Is The New Black,’ Dascha Polanco sparkled on the Emmy Awards red carpet. While her goddess-like Johanna Johnson flowing gown was an inspiration for celebrity makeup artist, Lucky Smyler, the look was all about highlighting Dascha’s natural features.

Luminous skin, cool iridescent tones and highlights were essential characteristics in Dascha’s ethereal Emmy’s beauty look. Lucky took the opportunity to accentuate Dascha’s beautiful eyes and skin and used unexpected tones of light mint.

Here’s how you can achieve this glamorous and whimsical look yourself:

SKIN
Prep: To achieve that radiant creamy canvas, Lucky prepped Dascha’s skin with SheaMoisture Misting Toner and followed with SheaMoisture Primer, evenly applying it with a foundation brush.

Foundation: The goal was to create a smooth and creamy even finish. Lucky achieved that by applying SheaMoisture Sheer Liquid Foundation in Yasuni Honey with a dampened sponge and gently stippled the product along the skin. He proceeded by sweeping SheaMoisture Concealer in Snowdonia Fawn along her under eyes with his ring finger.

Set: He continued by sculpting the face with Color Correcting Contouring and Highlighting Palette in Medium Light, neatly contouring the face along the hairline, cheekbones and jaw area. To lock in the freshness and dewy quality of the skin, Lucky applied Yala Golden Pressed Powder to skin.

Finish (Glow): To achieve that glowing ethereal look, Lucky illuminated the skin with SheaMoisture Illuminating Powder in Cinnamon Ceylon and Mandalay Dusk. He enhanced the previous contouring and applied a final dusting of SheaMoisture Annecy Maroon Mineral Blush along the apples of the cheeks.

EYES
Prep: To prep the lids, Lucky dusted SheaMosture Eyeshadow in Cecilia on the lid and brow bone. The pale tone of eye shadow served as a highlight and framing shade for the additional colors.

Color: Lucky used a damp shadow brush to apply a mixture of the base shade and Deysi Eyeshadow to the lids. Due to the iridescent quality of the shadows, a dampened brush allowed for a more intense pigment upon application.

Finish: He framed Dascha’s eyes with a swipe of black liquid liner and followed with generous layers of a volumizing and lengthening mascara to her lashes.

LIPS
Prep: To achieve a pillow soft lip, Lucky exfoliated, moisturized and primed Dascha’s lips with SheaMoisture Lip Exfoliator.

Color: Once the lips were primed, Lucky applied SheaMoisture Roberta Lipstick Crayon and blotted. This allowed the color to set as more of a stain rather than flat color and followed with a final coat of the same product.

Finish: To further highlight her lips, Lucky finished with a layer of SheaMoisture Lipgloss in Rosie.
