Melissa McCarthy In Marchesa – 2014 Emmy Awards

Melissa McCarthy In Marchesa - 2014 Emmy Awards

Melissa McCarthy attended the 2014 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday (August 25) in Los Angeles, California.

Having failed to excite in the past, this Marchesa look was a stark improvement.

Her custom black ball-gown featured a tulle skirt, with a panel of jet crystals, sequins and re-embroidered lace nipping in her waist to give the look some definition.

A Jimmy Choo ‘Cosma’ clutch, a noir manicure and an onyx-stone ring accessorized her look, with wavy tresses falling around her shoulders.

I don’t find this flattering at all. She should fire her stylist.

Yeah this is not a good look. Too dark and not doing her favors

I think the dress is waaay too puffy. It makes her look really short.

She should get Tadashi Shoji’s number from Octavia Spencer.

My thoughts exactly! She needs to give Tadashi Shoji a call ASAP.

“this look was a stark improvement” … Really ? In which aspect? I can’t see it. She looks shorter and wider.

I also think this is an improvement. She looks good.

Ditto.I think she looks great. She is not trying to get attention for the wrong reasons like that Lena person.

I agree, it doesn’t suit her body shape and I think it looks a bit too hot for the season.

I think she looks nice, the color and the long-ish sleeves are quite flattering and the waist-part defines it a bit. The hair is very pretty.

    She looks comfortable and beautiful.

Thus is the most polished she’s ever looked on the carpet. And I guess after her commenst, a big name designer did step up to design for “the big girl”. But I’m still not happy with the reselt. The tulle should’ve been a more streamlined, pencil silhouette, with the same waistband. Still undecided about the sleeves.

She looks comfortable and happy, but I want more for her in a dress.

I was trying to figure out why I didn’t really like this look. The fit is fine, the silhouette non offensive – I think if it were a jewel-tone color, or anything, but black, I would like it more.

This dress looks awful on her. She’s looked better.

I love the beaded waistband, but I just wish this was in a forest green or bold cobalt to really play off of her hair and make her eyes really sparkle. I agree this is a big improvement for Melissa, though.

      +1

I like the dress but it would be much better if it wasn’t all black
