Kate Mara In Christian Dior – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Kate Mara In Christian Dior - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Kate Mara couldn’t be missed as she made a bright showing at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

Her embroidered yellow wool and pale-pink quilted crepe dress from the Christian Dior Fall 2014 collection was certainly a bold colour choice, made all the more intense with the sun’s rays on the red carpet.

The cold-shoulder frock lost some of its runway sensibility, as a pucker here and a crumple there marred some its streamlined appeal—not that I can call this particular Dior dress one of my collection highlights.

Dior metallic and nude sandals, alongside an embellished hair clip at the back of her sleek bob, completed Kate’s entrance.

Terrible execution on the red carpet. Looked so much better on the runway.

  • Peony

Awful. As with a lot of Raf for Dior pieces, the fit is off and the execution looks cheap. I actually prefer the looser runway fit – looks more elegant and modern. The alterations give it a twee housewife vibe.

  • OMG it doesn’t look godd on her, at all, actually it looks kinda cheap

  • kevinappears

Looks okay on the runway, but totally shapeless on her.

  • pinksugar

I am by no means a big Dior fan since Raf took over but I surprisingly don’t hate this. Maybe I am just glad to see someone other than JLaw or Marion wearing it.

  • AnderBoBo

It looks as if she took the runway picture to a cheap dressmaker and asked for a copy.

  • Fiona-Brasil

No surprise! She never gets it right!

    • Fiona-Brasil

*What I mean is : bad clothes happen to good people!

      • Valissa

I agree. Kate tries but rarely succeeds. I don’t think I’ve ever liked a red carpet look from her…
        I dislike this too

  • Marisa

I love the dress on the runway but it looks terrible on Kate!

  • SilentVisitor

The dress looks awful on the model but I kind of like it on her. The fact that it fits better around the waist improved the dress….

    • Alina

I agree. Plus, I like the pink and yellow together.

  • Lee Ann

This is a really tough dress to wear unless you are tall. I really dislike the shoes

  • JC

I also think they made some alterations to the dress to make it fit better (which caused the creases)
Personally, I would have done it by adding a jade green/black belt.

  • Nina

    Looks better on the runway.

  • Cookie

The crinkles might be due to the alterations they made. Looks like they made it more fitted, as opposed to the cocoon-like fit of the runway presentation. That aside though I like this look, it’s so refreshing (rare for Dior these days)

  • Christine

This look so unfinished. The dress looks poorly made

  • She’s a fashion girl! I applaud her for taking a risk! Unfortunately, it didn’t pay off! I’m not offended by it, it’s chic to a certain extant! Plus, I’ll be mad if she opted for this at the Primetime Emmys red carpet!

  • Olivia

Surprisingly, I find myself loving this look. I have never been the biggest fan of Dior but something about this is so gorgeous. I feel like I may be in the minority, but I’m in love.

  • BurcuA

It is not a red carpet dress anyway!! Better for a tv show may be

  • Courtney Klein

I love Dior with all my heart but not this dress. It didn’t even look good on the runway. Kate’s hair and makeup looked beautiful however.

  • alvaro_spain

    Horrible.
