Kim Kardashian In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture – Jimmy Kimmel Live

Kim Kardashian In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture - Jimmy Kimmel Live

Following her weekend partying on a yacht with a host of celebs for Riccardo Tisci’s 40th birthday party in Ibiza, Spain, Kim Kardashian was back stateside on Monday (August 4), spotted making her way to a studio in Los Angeles, California for her guest appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’.

Wearing couture, the reality TV star wore an ensemble designed by Ulyana Sergeenko hailing from her Spring 2014 collection.

Despite the strong boudoir feel, I love the luxe femininity of the look, which includes a white bustier and pale-pink silk trousered jumpsuit paired with a teal silk coat modified from the runway look to cinch in Kim’s waist.

Wet-look hair enhances the boudoir feel, with nude sandals rounding out her look.

I love the outfit, but not on her. Maybe on Diane Kruger – with some retro waves and a strong red lip.

    • Phoenix August 5, 2014 at 15:09 #

O wow. Now that you mention Diane, wouldn’t she show this piece off to perfection? damn! That I would love to see.
On Kim, not so much, the top and bottom seem ill-fitting to me, I like the teal coat, but yeah, kim just doesnt pull it off correctly.

    • sharizal_samah August 7, 2014 at 03:08 #

at the end of the day, Kim K is saving the fashion industry by actually BUYING these pieces

      something that we should appreciate

she is just like us, enjoying fashion

      • julyol1972 August 7, 2014 at 03:22 #

Please! I get that you’re a fan of hers, but let’s not get crazy now. She’s no more “saving the fashion industry..”, than you or I are curing cancer.

She’s buying a few pieces, and good for her, as she can afford to…but that’s it.

        • sharizal_samah August 7, 2014 at 09:29 #

          well, no money, no talk

          fashion is a biz too

it’s good enough for her to actually spend for fashion

not just get loaned like some celebs

          • julyol1972 August 7, 2014 at 14:50 #

Lets be real here. Kim has to buy her clothes because she cannot fit the normal sample sizes that are loaned out by the designers. It is from necessity that she does this, not out of any sense of altruistism. And frankly, many of them don’t want to be associated with her brand, so her “stylist” would have to purchase the clothes, or she wouldn’t be able to wear the the ones she wanted.

But Kim and her family doesn’t have enough spending power to keep any one designer in business, no matter how much couture, etc. they buy. Yes, she’s contributing to sustaining the industry, but she along cannot save it…that is just not possible.

            • julyol1972 August 7, 2014 at 19:46 #

              *altruism*

  2. Christine August 5, 2014 at 11:26 #

    Yeah no

  3. taylor August 5, 2014 at 11:36 #

This reads more lounge wear than tv show to me.

  4. Lee Ann August 5, 2014 at 11:38 #

She looks like an escapee from the Care Home

    • Jackie oh August 5, 2014 at 11:49 #

I really cant stand her. RC you used to have
principals, last time I’m on this website, Cant stand this family prostitution on the way to fame….

      • Christine August 5, 2014 at 11:59 #

That shouldn’t stop you from no longer visiting, but I just thought we all agreed she was going to be featured only on major events. What’s the point in our input, if it’s going to go nowhere? And you still going to feature her. Jimmy Kimmel is a major event? Lol. Okie dokie.

Featuring her because she is wearing couture? Mmkay.

        • Ja August 5, 2014 at 12:06 #

I think what was decided was that she was going to be featured just like other stars, at events, movie premieres, red carpets and JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CELEBRITY at TV appearances. Besides this look is worth featuring. Classism is the worst.

          • Christine August 5, 2014 at 12:10 #

No that was not decided. What was decided was that she was going to be featured only on major events like Cannes and Met Gala.

            • Valerie August 5, 2014 at 12:38 #

Please not again! This has been discussed over and over. It’s not like she’s been featured everyday, it’s been a month or so. Just skip her posts if it bothers you that much.

I don’t really like the modifications, but I’m not a big fan of the collection te begin with.. it’s all a bit costumy for me.

              • Christine August 5, 2014 at 12:47 #

We can voiced our opinion as much as we like. If it bothers you tht much, skip over our replies, non?

            • Ja August 5, 2014 at 13:22 #

So what you are saying is that because she is Kim Kardashian she can’t be featured here when doing an appearance at Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon like any other star (Kerry Washington got featured the day before yesterday for going to the same show). I am not going to compare both of them because Kerry is an amazing talented actress, but not featuring Kim after all that debate drama would be just unprofessional. Kim and her sisters are featured all the time on the ‘Shop Her Closet’ section and I don’t see any of you complaining as much…. Wether you like her or not she makes a reaction on you people, and that is all this is about.

              • Christine August 5, 2014 at 13:45 #

Shop her closet section? Lol. Who cares about that section. People take issue that she is being featured on the main site. We have a right to “complain” just like you have right to comment. To each their own, yeah?

      • TT August 5, 2014 at 12:01 #

This is a blog about what a celeb is wearing, not about what the person may or may not be. Whether or not you like it she is in the public realm and has every right like every other celeb to be featured on here – a FASHION blog. I’m tried of people investing themselves in the lives of celebrities, how does what she does affect your life???!!!!

        • Christine August 5, 2014 at 16:10 #

She doesn’t at all. But clearly she affect you.

          Lol. Carry on though.

        • Jazz August 5, 2014 at 16:53 #

completely agree! Everybody is being so catty here, must be jealous of her style ;)

          • julyol1972 August 5, 2014 at 18:58 #

Trust me no one here, unless they’re a super fan of hers, is jealous of her style. She is rich and can afford any outfit she wishes, but she brings no personality, style, class or shine to her clothing. That is nothing to inspire to.

  5. Britta August 5, 2014 at 11:47 #

I love it. Well put together.

  6. Denise August 5, 2014 at 12:41 #

Love the outfit, it is relaxed and sexy.

    • SilentVisitor August 5, 2014 at 12:56 #

      +1

  7. jenny August 5, 2014 at 13:36 #

For once, I think she look appropriate.
However how the hell did she and booty fill into this sample sized couture???

    • Catherine Kallon August 5, 2014 at 15:21 #

I’m pretty confident that she is buying these pieces

      • jenny August 5, 2014 at 15:45 #

No wonder, I thought her marriage to kanye was so impactful that designers are even sending couture to her!

Pardon me for thinking that her booty is so big that it lifted many inches up so she’s able to walk in them!

      • jenny August 5, 2014 at 15:45 #

    • julyol1972 August 5, 2014 at 17:42 #

It didn’t!!! The back view of this outfit was so horrible. All you saw was a big gigantic derriere. Kim has access to couture and some of the best fashion out there, but man she is being styled so badly right now, it’s not even funny.

In different views of the outfit, the bodice is hanging onto her boobs for dear life, and the back of the robe is clinging to her butt, outlining it, and showcasing it in a very unflattering way.

Great look, definitely wrong person, wrong body type!!!

      • jenny August 5, 2014 at 20:24 #

Oh lord, I thought she looked amazing for once until I checked the pictures at different angles and the pants looked tight in some!

I must say Catherine, you were being very professional and kind to Kim for choosing a very flattering picture however misleading.

  8. H August 5, 2014 at 14:09 #

I really like it, couture doesn’t have to be the same as ready to wear cause there wouldn’t be no point on buying, however, I would’ve love to see this look worn by a stunning actress on Venice Film Festival or at great International Gala, great look nonetheless.

  9. dee August 5, 2014 at 14:10 #

I think she looks really nice and classy. I like her hair slicked back like that.

  10. pinksugar August 5, 2014 at 15:42 #

On an elegant woman this look would be beautiful but as usual every time Kim tries to look chic she trashes it up with her porn boobs. I often wonder if she realizes they don’t ALWAYS have to be on display.

  11. sophie August 5, 2014 at 15:45 #

    The hair makes this tacky.

I thought we agreed to only feature the Kartrashians at BIG events like the Grammys, MET Gala or the White House Correspondent’s Dinner (Heaven forbid they get invited).

Besides, what was she promoting? Her REALITY SHOW?

I do hope more people wear Ulyana Sergeenko.

    • Christine August 5, 2014 at 16:08 #

I thought so too Sophie. But I guess we imagined that lmao.

      • Ja August 5, 2014 at 18:32 #

        Bitter much??

    • julyol1972 August 5, 2014 at 17:44 #

I thought so too, so I’m really conflicted right now. Love this site, love FC’s work but abhor the Kardashians. This is not a big noteworthy event, but I get that the designer deserves to have her work showcased, even if it’s on someone like Kim who doesn’t do the pieces justice. Total catch 22 situation!!!

    • ayatlaw August 8, 2014 at 15:12 #

      +1.

The model looks great to me but this look is not working for Kim. I am so surprised that so many fashion enthusiasts are in love with Kim-boggles my mind really. I am always surprised when people express their disdain how someone is always there to back Kim up like they know her. I mean really…in the name of fashion/fashionista she is not; hence her need to not be seen on this lovely site often (same for her sister Kendall.) If anyone has style it would be Kourtney; now her I wouldn’t mind seeing.

  12. Meme August 5, 2014 at 16:27 #

As usual, Kimmode makes expensive designer clothes look cheap and tacky. She’s always shoving her tits in our faces.

  13. jjane August 5, 2014 at 16:49 #

nude looks really good on her but she looks like she is wearing a housecoat.

  14. tuftufwang August 5, 2014 at 16:53 #

FC, I personally dislike the whole Kardashians hype and have been scratching my head about why they have such a strong following (otherwise they wouldn’t be getting all those $$$ advertising money).

I really respect and salute you for putting personal biases aside and featuring fashion – good or bad since this is a very subjective topic. You have stayed true to your fashion blog and not turning it into a tabloid column. The fact that you have decided to feature her from time to time does not bother me. I’m glad for your decision because you don’t have to kow tow to ALL your readers. Your site became successful because of what you believe in. So rock on and continue your hard work.

    • Catherine Kallon August 5, 2014 at 18:15 #

Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.

    • Nadine August 5, 2014 at 20:15 #

Well put, I was just REALLY glad to see some flowy trousers.

    • dee August 5, 2014 at 20:55 #

      Well said, I completely agree.

    • clancy from dallas August 6, 2014 at 06:22 #

completely agree… the fact that people are all of a sudden trying to question the validity of the fashion expertise here and saying they won’t be coming back again because of this, is so ridiculous. true fashion enthusiasts who aren’t worried about the drama of any celeb wearing said fashions, will surely stay followers and fans, like we have been through the years during other difficult times loll! #haters #wesurvivedthegagaredcarpetegg bahahha

    • Reezy August 6, 2014 at 23:26 #

      i wholeheartedly agree.

The really negative reactions are mindboggling. Talking about wanting to see only certain class, but acting just a classless.
it’s just a post, scroll by and move on.

FC, keep doing what you do best. you rock.

  15. Jazz August 5, 2014 at 16:55 #

Again, thank you for featuring her. She looks fantastic, love the combo of colors she’s got going on. Very luxe.

  16. kane August 5, 2014 at 17:39 #

I feel this lady gets more traffic than she deserves. It’s the same with people getting all worked up about the DoC. If you don’t like them or what they are wearing just skip them–that’s probably the most effective way to get them off the site.

  17. Valissa August 5, 2014 at 17:42 #

I love Ulyana Sergeenko and it pains me to see Kim constantly wearing her couture pieces!! She needs to stop…she is ruining these beautiful and elegant designs with her tacky-ness!
This outfit on a classier woman would have been divine. It is gorgeous on the runway…it looks ridiculous on Kim.
Also, it’s interesting to read that she buys these pieces herself. I can’t imagine Ulyana sending them to her…makes me feel much better lol

  18. Maria August 5, 2014 at 18:42 #

The robe is stupid. I think trousers and a bustier top could be okay for her, but her boobs are just so.. enormous. I really have no idea what flatters her body since she has no idea how to dress it.

  19. tom August 5, 2014 at 18:44 #

she makes haute couture look cheap.

  20. grace August 5, 2014 at 19:03 #

If there’s anything positive about seeing klassy kouture on the Kardashians, then it must be this: always wear clothes suited to your body type!

  21. sara August 5, 2014 at 19:08 #

I think this is a very feminine, elegant look. I think it works well on her, however, I prefer the model’s version with the tie-waist. Also, I love the color combo. Great makeup and styling.

  22. Nat39 August 5, 2014 at 19:53 #

I love this ensemble – light, feminine, effortless, the contrasting teal silk coat completes the look beautifully, adding originality. I think Kim deserved to be featured for this look. Minor critique – the pants needed to be shortened a bit and also she keeps focusing on her bust a bit too much (the bustier in this case ends up looking a bit cheap), she needs to soften her bustiness with her choices instead of drawing strong attention to it.

  23. Larissa August 5, 2014 at 20:48 #

“Strong boudoir feel” LOL FC you read my mind!I’m here only to comment the outfit and no matter how hard I try I don’t like it at all.

  24. Clancy from Dallas August 5, 2014 at 21:26 #

I like the look. It’s very luxe and polished. it’s also been well polished. regardless of what everyone’s personal opinions are about kim k., the fact of the matter is that she wears beautiful designer creations that deserved to be featured on here. i’m not saying i need a daily update on what underwear she’s wearing, but the outfit is interesting and has every reason to be showcased.

  25. AJ August 5, 2014 at 21:41 #

She looks sleek and sophisticated! The hair and makeup are styled to perfection!

  26. Kelly August 5, 2014 at 22:26 #

With rare exceptions, Sergeenko’s designs off the runaway come across as tacky and attention seeking. This look is no different. It doesn’t appear to be fitted very well.

  27. Nicky August 5, 2014 at 23:20 #

Love the hair and makeup, and the colors, but not a fan of the outfit as a whole

  28. Alex V August 6, 2014 at 01:03 #

Ok so you guys complaining about the kardashians is nothing new, we agreed they will be posted only on major events. Actually 51 comments proof that Kim K is worth talking about, if you really didn’t mind what she’s wearing then you wouldn’t comment. Controversy is the best publicity

  29. ashlee August 6, 2014 at 03:33 #

Love it!! Probably one of her better looks

  30. kevinappears August 6, 2014 at 03:40 #

Hi FC did we vote not to see her appearance here?

  31. Gemma Rockets August 6, 2014 at 04:40 #

I love Ulyana Sargeenko and if I were a Russian oligarch I would be buying her clothes. That said, this is a look that probably only works on the catwalk or in the boudoir. Maybe if the fabric were matte ( a crepe maybe?) instead of satin you could wear this outside of those arenas.
I think this looks beautiful on Kim, but she looks slightly silly simply because the outfit looks inappropriate in the street.

  32. Lisa Chick August 6, 2014 at 06:09 #

The outfit is sort awkward for most people, apart from models and other tall, thin people, to pull off. My first reaction to the outfit was confusion, but the more I studied it and the styling, I thought she looked pretty in such a complicated outfit.
As far as whether to feature Kim, this website has fans and non-fans of many of the celebrities, not just Kim and we manage to respect the ones we don’t like. I am not sure why some commenters are advocating to ostracize only one. If you are incapable of giving a compliment or criticism of style regardless of your personal affection towards the featured celebrity, then you don’t need to comment at all and truthfully, your opinion is not wanted. Honestly, who cares whether you like Kim! I mean really!!!

  33. Noemi August 7, 2014 at 10:42 #

First of all, is this really couture? Then, I don’t like her because this outfit looks like something you could wear to stay (stylishly) at home. Like something that could have been worn in an old movie by a diva like Rita Hayworth.

  34. Dhppy August 7, 2014 at 19:03 #

It’s not working on here, but if I were Sergeenko, I’d give all my designs to Dita Von Teese and let her wear them wherever and whenever.

    • H August 7, 2014 at 21:26 #

I couldn’t agree more, although some other celebs can rock her creations as well.
