Selena Gomez In Emilio Pucci & Christian Dior – Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala

Selena Gomez In Emilio Pucci & Christian Dior - Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala

Selena Gomez wore two looks for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala held at the Domaine Bertaud Belieu on Wednesday (23 July) in Saint-Tropez, France.

Look 1: She arrived wearing a Emilio Pucci Fall 2014 gown in an olive hue composed of a part-draped silk jersey and part-embellished with crystals which clung to her body, with a thigh-high slit ensuring the Pucci sex appeal. Gold hooped earrings and matching Casadei ‘Barbarella’ pumps completed her look.

Look 2: At some point during the evening Selena changed into a Christian Dior strapless black dress from the Spring 2014 collection featuring the signature emblem, paired with a black tulle tutu to make the look her own, I love the fresh spin on this look. Does the veiled fascinator overcook the look for you? It does for me.

Do any of Selena’s looks deserve a spot on the BDOTW poll?

i love the Emilio Pucci dress on her! great colour for her!

Can you please stop posting about Selena Gomez? She’s a child styled up, hardly a fashionista or icon… I’m so bored seeing her every other day!!

Don’t like first look, looks too loose, not liking the color or the earrings or anything about it. Looks like the dress falls off when she moves.
Dior is better, nice color (even though a bit dark for summer) and it’s actually quite interesting – it’s just… it looks like she’s tryinf too hard imo.
Also preferred her old style. Both are far from breathtaking.

how does she manage to make dior look so cheap… *sigh*

  5. Pedro July 25, 2014 at 04:18 #

    She looks terrible

  6. Prudence July 25, 2014 at 02:32 #

what happened to her? when she dated JB she dressed so much better.

I don’t want to go into gossip territory so I didn’t want to mention him but, it could also be that when they were dating she got more, better clothing options from designers since she was theoretically getting more exposure? Just a guess although it makes business sense to me.

Gomez is in a hard position; despite being in her twenties, she still has a baby face. So, in the first outfit she looks like she’s wearing her mother’s dress and in the second one she appears to be attending a quinceañera. Perhaps that stylish friend of hers could help her out.

The Pucci is cheap and tacky.

Surprised Dior would pander to Selena Gomez, who has lowered herself to Kardashian level.

But I do like the second look.

LIm not Selenas biggest fan, but would never ever compare her toa Kardashian. That’s LOW!

Her friends looks elegant she’s trying to hard….
the second dress looks like sweet 16

Those pictures are not that flattering of her. I’ve seen other pictures from the event – and there she looks so much better.

Definitely doesn’t deserve a spot on the BDOTW poll, but she looks much better than earlier this week. However, that fascinator and the tutu make that outfit costumey, and try hard, which Serena has really seemed to struggle with.

  12. pinksugar July 24, 2014 at 15:34 #

Nothing Selena has worn is BDOTW worthy. It’s try hardery on top of try hardery with her all the time.

  13. Phoenix July 24, 2014 at 15:12 #

I agree with the others. She is blah in her dresses, but her friend looks awesome!

  14. Grace July 24, 2014 at 11:43 #

No way to both looks. SHe’s looked much better in the past.

  15. jodie July 24, 2014 at 11:33 #

The Emilio Pucci look is great. I particularly like the color on her skin tone. The Christian Dior look would have been good too if that ridiculous fascinator and the tutu was removed.

The tutu and the fascinator must be removed. So, it’s a No for that look, although I loved the dress as it was showed on the catwalk.
    Love the Pucci dress.

  17. Christine July 24, 2014 at 10:59 #

Agreed! Not liking either look. Her friend looks way better

  18. Yeliz July 24, 2014 at 10:46 #

    Not liking either look.

    • Leo July 24, 2014 at 12:53 #

+1! She’s so bland in both.

I prefer the Emilio Pucci. It’s much more sexy and equally fresh, IMO.

  20. Iva July 24, 2014 at 10:38 #

I find her Dior look interesting.

  21. Alina July 24, 2014 at 10:33 #

I’m more interested in what her friend is wearing as she looks effortlessly chic.

    • kane July 24, 2014 at 10:38 #

Just what I was going to say.

    • CreoleLady July 24, 2014 at 12:21 #

+3. Who is she? Much prefer her look over either of Selena’s. Effortless is a rather overused term but applies beautifully to her.

    • Caro Chanel July 24, 2014 at 14:17 #

Her friend is wearing Dsquared Pre Fall 2014, as seen on Eva Green back in May. I like the dress on her much better as on Eva, maybe because she’s got a young and fresh look about her, not as sultry as Eva. 😉 Also, her shoes are the better choice for me.

When it comes to Selena I think the second look is fun and different for her. A good thing! The first look ist kinda meh and I would have preferred sandals.
