Zendaya Coleman In Emanuel Ungaro – 2014 BET Awards

Zendaya Coleman In Emanuel Ungaro - 2014 BET Awards

Zendaya Coleman walked the red carpet of the 2014 BET Awards yesterday (June 29) at Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE.

The singer and actress wore a skirt and top from the Emanuel Ungaro Resort 2014 collection.

I think I can safely say that if anyone else had worn this ensemble, I wouldn’t have been a fan, but with her edgy and quirky approach to fashion, Zendaya owns this, and owns it well.

By trading out the blouse shown on the runway for a simple bandeau and adding a hat and some long pigtails, she adds an age-appropriateness and her signature stamp of cool.

What say you? A heart-felt ‘yes’ or a pained ‘no’?

I don’t understand this outfit on her. It is cool and kind of edgy on the model, but somehow dated on Zendaya.

Zendaya is usually so “cool” in hard looks, but it’s all about styling it right. This time is an explosion at the 90s TLC touring closet. Big capital NO!

  3. ValS June 30, 2014 at 14:10 #

It’s a heart-felt no! Saying yes to that dress that would have been painful.

  4. Valissa June 30, 2014 at 14:27 #

Goodness, this is horrible! Nothing flows, nothing makes sense and it all looks messy! A huge no from me!

  5. Rebecca Z June 30, 2014 at 14:39 #

    Pained no. Dreadful.

  6. Anne June 30, 2014 at 14:51 #

I can’t exactly say she killed this with her styling because it was already pretty bad anyway, but she overcooked her styling again.

I think I kinda, sorta like it if I tilt my head to the left and squint. Not a “thumbs up”, more horizontal at best.

As Leo above said, she’s giving a 90′s vibe here. And because of the bandeau, hat and hair, has definitely given it a different edge. It helps that she’s so young and is still finding her footing with fashion.

On anyone else, this would most likely be a HUGE no from me.

A poor attempt at looking stylish. She is trying too hard. Contrived mess.

..easily one of the worst of the event imo, she should take it easy, this is too complicated for her and tacky.

I like how she takes bold fashion risks in terms of the outfit, but she ALWAYS ruins it with her OTT styling.

  10. Christine June 30, 2014 at 15:58 #

The styling is very try hard-ish

  11. Marcel June 30, 2014 at 16:07 #

    I like it . A big YES.

  12. justme June 30, 2014 at 16:55 #

It’s not my cup of tea but it’s very 90′s and very Zendaya.

Tacky as F-CK. She is 17 years old. Try hard and cheap. NO.

  14. amy June 30, 2014 at 18:38 #

this girl just tries so hard. I get that she’s young and want to have fun but her outfits are always overdone. too much

  15. Yeliz June 30, 2014 at 18:44 #

    NO.

  16. magan June 30, 2014 at 18:45 #

With how beautiful she was lately. As she did this look?
    No more leg, please

The street style of the hat and hair and big hoops is a smart play against the track suit lines in the suit. The shoes are dissapointment, though.

  18. Phoenix June 30, 2014 at 21:10 #

Now THIS is overcooked and ridiculous.

  19. Nadine June 30, 2014 at 22:50 #

Is Lindsey Lohan working at Ungaro again?

  20. Alex V July 1, 2014 at 00:09 #

should’ve worn the lookbook shirt & exterminate that horrendous cap, and gone with beautiful flowy hair

  21. Prudence July 1, 2014 at 00:21 #

lord………I am shocked at this level of lack of style.

  22. cherrysoftness July 1, 2014 at 02:35 #

Awww. She has definitely stepped into costume territory here, maybe something Disney would put tweens in, in the 90s. She’s trying but, maybe a huge part of her is still a little girl playing dress-up. This is Pussycat dolls level tacky :(
