Keira Knightley In Prada – Out In New York City

Keira Knightley In Prada - Out In New York City

Keira Knightley was snapped while out in New York City on the way to a press conference for her new film ‘Begin Again’.

The actress looked demure in a pleated, light blue Prada dress, a stone-encrusted Prada clutch and silver metallic Prada shoes.

Diamond studs, barely there makeup (partially hidden here by her shades) and a simple chignon accented with a hairline twist are the perfect compliments to this lovely daytime look.

The entire ensemble is perfectly Keira, and I love everything from the ankles up, but somehow the shoes feel a bit off to me.

Do you agree that there may have been a better shoe option for this look, or are you completely smitten with the whole outfit?

The shoes are bad but the sewing of the dress is also poorly made. The clutch is pretty though.

I really like it – her best look this week.

    • Yeliz June 27, 2014 at 18:05 #

      I totally agree.

I feel like it needs a belt. But very cute nonetheless!

    • Marybeth June 27, 2014 at 17:17 #

Agree about the belt, though I’m not sure what color. Probably the same as the dress or, if she’s bound to wear those silver shoes, she might have tried a thin silver one.

(I also agree that, even as it is, it’s a nice look.)

    Flawless!

    I love it

Love this look and I like it better than her previous looks from this tour

There are definitely better shoe options. Those silver pumps are a standard no for me. They didn’t work with any of her looks this week. Needless to say I only like this from this ankles up.

    The dress is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Emma June 27, 2014 at 15:37 #

Think how cute it would have been with silver brogues rather than silver pumps.

  9. scarlett June 27, 2014 at 15:47 #

Love this. She never fails. The dress is beautiful and I’m fine with the pumps, it’s a day look so it feels more, maybe practical is the wrong word but, daytime!

I love everything – and the shoes are just so perfect! I love silver shoes in the summer!

I don’t like all the pleating in the dress. Shoes aren’t working and the clutch looks gaudy. This is a no for me.

  12. sophie June 27, 2014 at 16:11 #

It’s nice. I hope she doesn’t wear any more Prada.

  13. Jean June 27, 2014 at 16:22 #

The shoes are slightly off-putting but I think the overall laid-back feel of the look makes up for it! She looks very lovely.

  14. TeaAtTwo June 27, 2014 at 16:43 #

I think she looks good head to toe here.

    • TeaAtTwo June 27, 2014 at 16:44 #

or should that be head to sole ;)

  15. Nicky June 27, 2014 at 17:04 #

I kinda like the shoes – they contribute to the old-fashioned vibe she has going on. I especially love that gorgeous clutch!

  16. Serena June 27, 2014 at 17:20 #

This is pure 50s perfection. She looks like a star from another era! I love the silver shoes too, they give a modern twist to a vintage-like look, imo.

  17. Christine June 27, 2014 at 17:35 #

So cute but not liking the shoes

  18. Natalie June 27, 2014 at 17:59 #

Loved that Valentino gown for the premiere but I ADORE this look. It’s so ladylike but not overwhelming— effortless— in the way only Keira can pull off. I like the shoe. I think the silver works with the blue.

It feels a little Audrey Hepburn, love it

I think you’ve used the term twee before, and this is what I think of the dress. I am WAY tired of seeing grown women in what look like toddler dress-up from the 50s – Peter Pan collars, the cut, and so forth. This would go very well with mary janes and ankle socks, on a 6-year-old.

    • Nat39 June 27, 2014 at 18:59 #

Amen. Hate ‘toddler chic’ on grown women.

  21. Lee Ann June 27, 2014 at 19:40 #

this is so chic.no belt is needed.i like the silver shoes in colour but would have preferred pointier toes. toddler chic ? since when is simple elegance toddler chic????

    • Nat39 June 27, 2014 at 21:29 #

The colour, the collar, the girly cut and cheesy pleats…reads ‘little girl’ rather than grownup elegance in my eyes (but of course feel free to disagree)

      • Lee Ann June 29, 2014 at 17:01 #

I do disagree .i could see Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly or any of my style icons in this. I do not see Shirley Temple. But to each their own.

        • Nat39 June 29, 2014 at 22:14 #

I can perfectly see Chloe Moretz:) to each their own, true

  22. Sally June 28, 2014 at 03:02 #

Stunning. The best she has ever looked. I feel it’s much harder to be so polished and impeccable with casual daywear as opposed to red carpet. She is flawless.

  23. bisbee June 28, 2014 at 12:18 #

I agree that this is hardly “toddler chic”! This is typical Prada ’50s vintage-style…and very few can carry it off as well as Kiera. This is right up her alley.

    • Nat39 June 28, 2014 at 19:18 #

I’m aware it’s vintage, doesn’t prevent it from being twee, although I understand how others may like it and that it’s, in fact, right up her alley, but personally I wouldn’t mind if Keira refreshed her style a bit.

  24. Phoenix June 29, 2014 at 23:16 #

She looks absolutely adorable and classy. Another look I love on her.

I love her sunglasses! Anyone know they are by?
