Li Bingbing In Giambattista Valli Couture – ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ New York Premiere

Li Bingbing In Giambattista Valli Couture - ‘Transformers Age Of Extinction’ New York Premiere

Li Bingbing attended the New York premiere of ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ held at the Ziegfeld Theater on Wednesday (June 25) in New York City.

The actress wore yet another couture look on this promo tour, this time selecting a Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 look.

What sells this tri-colour strapless bustier gown to me is the structure of the pink layer, the drama of the black skirt and the pop of colour of the yellow bustier.

On paper you couldn’t sell this to me, but in reality it’s a masterpiece.

She is a total vision of loveliness. Oozing femininity. I love this from head to toe. This kicks those two missteps from Stephane Rolland and Sass & Bide into touch.

Did this risk pay off for you?

I like the idea of the dress, not the execution – it looks cheap.

Finally an interesting look that actually works for her. It’s bold yet elegant and she is totally charming in it. I love the dramatic silhouette and contrasting elements, her hair and makeup are beautiful, although I do find the yellow bustier slightly cheap-looking, but overall it’s thumbs up from me, just wish she’d added a clutch to complete the look.

    i like this :) she is 41 this year…

For real? Damn those asian genes, I want them too!

    • Eri June 26, 2014 at 12:39 #

Seriously. She looks 20-something… Anyhow finally she’s making a bold fashion statement and rocking it at the same time. I am also not too sure about the yellow bustier but overall she’s selling the dress to me.

      • Belle June 26, 2014 at 20:25 #

Despite I think the dress is a flop but I think that it impressive that a 41 year-old-woman can pull this off. I’m still in my 20s and have much to learn from her.

This is wearing her, she needs to understand not just couture or something big and loud makes a statement.
I agree with Alina, cheap and not well executed but honestly, it looks so much better on the runway!

  5. Lashae June 26, 2014 at 10:38 #

All dresses she worn for this promo, they look so much better on the model/runway including this one also. She just doesn’t have the presence nor the height to carry these looks.

  6. Christine June 26, 2014 at 10:42 #

Now this is working for me!!!! She looks stunning.

  7. Yeliz June 26, 2014 at 11:13 #

Finally she is wearing something which actually works on her. Well, I didn’t really like this gown on the runway, but Li pulls it off. She looks gorgeous.

I also prefer it on her this time around. She injects soft femininity into the look while it’s just stiff on the model. This look doesn’t need a fierce presence imo. she is working it charmingly and makes it look elegant.

      • Nat39 June 26, 2014 at 11:45 #

…and the silhouette is lovely on her petite frame too.

  8. Quinn June 26, 2014 at 11:21 #

I agree with Alina. That was the first word that come to my mind as well when I see this…cheap.

She keep choosing all these couture pieces but honestly I don’t think she has the presence to pull any of the pieces off. Maybe she’s better off with sophisticated and demure style then edgy? Still waiting for her to wow me in this promo tour.

    I like it.

She wore these couture gowns during this promo but almost all of them ended up look cheap tbh, because of poor execution with the styling and fit of the dress, etc. Edgy dresses don’t suit her

  11. Pedro June 26, 2014 at 17:22 #

    Terrible execution, great idea!

This looks Project Runaway for me.

  12. Nicky June 26, 2014 at 19:04 #

It looks wrinkled and deflated. Shame, because it could’ve been a stunning look :(

  13. Iris June 26, 2014 at 22:46 #

A work of art, she looks flawless

  14. Phoenix June 26, 2014 at 23:47 #

BDOTW. Finally one that works for her! This is good. Suits her, and shes wearing it well

  15. Peony June 27, 2014 at 07:51 #

This is much improved on the terrible Stephane Rolland looks, but two factors remain consistent:

    1) She (or her stylist) is still choosing looks that she’s not tall/statuesque enough to carry off; and

    2) Once again, a runway look that’s translated poorly on the red carpet. Are they not steaming the gowns properly or something? The bodice looks saggy and the peplum desperately needs more structure.
