The Great Kardashian Debate

The Great Kardashian Debate

Back in 2011 after a post on Kim Kardashian I received a flurry of emails and comments asking me to stop posting about the reality star.

I was only too happy to oblige in making this site a Kardashian-free zone – along with a Paris-Hilton-free zone, TOWIE-free and Real-Housewives-of-any-county-free zone and, most importantly, a Snooki-and-J-Wow-free zone.

However, after receiving yet another email from a reader? – who a friend jokingly suggested was Kanye West – asking me to reconsider my stance on the clan, especially Kim, I have to wonder if this is what you, the reader, really want.

While there has been a shift from Herve Leger to Givenchy and Lanvin, for me, it doesn’t change my opinion on Kim as a person, which for the record is not very favourable.

So, do you want to see Kim Kardashian on this site? Note, fansite votes are easily detected.

You do post about the Jenner sisters which I like so I wouldn’t mind seeing the occasional post about Kim, Khloe and Kourtney.

    • Linda June 24, 2014 at 18:56 #

      +1 I agree.

    • KC June 25, 2014 at 05:16 #

Well I don’t even want to see posts here about the little sisters, much less any of the older ones.

  2. Rye June 24, 2014 at 10:19 #

I’d rather not. No offense, but I don’t think I can handle all the walking and red carpet posts of her on your blog on daily basis

    • eleanor June 24, 2014 at 10:25 #

I really like your site, and neither the Jenners or Kardashians are my cup of tea. Don’t like them and what they represent and I really appreciate your site and respect it so please don’t.

I agree. SEX TAPE. SEX TAPE.

        • ggg June 24, 2014 at 23:41 #

+2! This site is too classy for this kind of celebrity. It doesn’t matter what they’re wearing (to me).

      • AW June 24, 2014 at 16:45 #

Ditto. I appreciate that this site is one of the only Kardashian-free zones in the media.

In other news, I would like to see more Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned if possible!

        • Alfie June 24, 2014 at 23:30 #

OMG yes!! Sheikha Mozah is a goddess, her custom couture pieces are amazing, she’s definitely someone I would love to see more of on here.

        • Nat39 June 25, 2014 at 02:43 #

          +100000000… to Sheikha Mozah

        • KC June 25, 2014 at 05:16 #

“I appreciate that this site is one of the only Kardashian-free zones in the media.”

An emphatic NO, FC! The Daily Mail more than makes up for your dearth of Kim K reporting. Anyone wanting to see her zillion posts/pics can head over there. The rest of us will come here to breath “Kim-free” air! Thanks!

      • Sofia June 25, 2014 at 00:48 #

        A complete +1. You’re absolutely right!

      • thanks June 25, 2014 at 09:45 #

yes its very interesting to see what de dailymail-owners are trying to create around the world. we need a xi here (joking).

hallo xi, i like you and expect you to want the media more free, honest, open, reachable for everyone, a source and platform of communication for all of us. i analysed you a bit and concluded that in an ideal world you agree here, so we’re going there.

personaly i would not let the dailymail educate my people (including children) if that is the only source of education and people are not on a certain level yet (we still have a lot of groups and subcultures like that in the world), i would at least warn about it. also because you want to communicate that this does not represent what you stand for as a civilisation. but then you have to feel responsible. that also lacks sometimes.

rcfa, you are a frontrunner on the internet in the world of populair fashion, so i expect you to set an example, just like you have been doing for years now and are doing here again. others followed or try to follow or try to be even better (which makes me very happy – thank you!). this is also how we will grow.

also i hope that the kardashian-people dont take this personal and that they all get the chance (especially the younger onces)to form their own identity and that we give them the space (in our minds and hearts) to do so if we come across them.

a lot of language mistakes again i’m sure.

  3. Taylahre June 24, 2014 at 10:25 #

I personally think its wrong to not discuss ones fashion on the basis we don’t like them as a person , maybe that’s just me

    • Keeks June 24, 2014 at 10:29 #

      Valid point!

    • Lei June 24, 2014 at 10:35 #

Totally agree! We know none of them personally & I think if they are wearing fab clothes then that should be the reason for featuring them!

    • Amy June 24, 2014 at 10:37 #

    • Effy June 24, 2014 at 10:42 #

I agree with that 100%, but still I’m not sold on their style specially Kim’s. Although now that Kourtney is pregnant it might be fun to see what she’s gonna wear.

    • Sanya June 24, 2014 at 10:53 #

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t like the lady, but sometimes her red carpets looks are just really good. However, because she is in the news every single day, FC could maybe just focuss on the biggest events, or ‘no more than three’ posts per week.

      • Taylahre June 24, 2014 at 11:26 #

that’s defiantly fair , especially if her style is going to be repetitive but then again that goes for any repeat styling celeb ie. Kate middleton or Jennifer Aniston

      • Andrea June 24, 2014 at 11:39 #

        Yes I agree.

      • amy June 24, 2014 at 12:24 #

agree on every point. I can’t stand her and I don’t want to see her everyday looks, however I don’t mind her being featured once in a while. btw the look in the picture is gorgeous

        • kath June 25, 2014 at 05:56 #

          + 1

      • Nicky June 24, 2014 at 15:49 #

That’s a good idea. She should be featured for big events like the met ball, but trashy everyday outfits need not be posted.

      • Prudence June 24, 2014 at 18:20 #

There are a thousand other websites that are saturated with Kardashian business. Why don’t you head over there if you so badly want to know what Kim is wearing ? Is it not nice for you to be able to visit a website and not see that last name? They have literally taken over every other media. I am 100% opposed to this not only because they already get enough coverage but because they are extremely vulgar in their way of dressing. There is nothing fashionable about any of them, especially Kim and Khloe.

        • Carla June 24, 2014 at 19:24 #

I agree!! Please please please keep the lovely RCFA a Kardashian-free medium!!

        • C June 25, 2014 at 07:48 #

I disagree with the commenters saying not to post because this is a sophisticated site.
My opinion is, what makes this site more elevated in taste is that it is all inclusive without social judgement on the talent. By denying a post about ones fashion based on social status, moral standards, or tabloid politics, brings judging right down to Fashion Police level. Polar opposites yes, just different opinions with neither being right or wrong.

Fact is, the Kardashians aren’t going away. They have become fixtures of not only the media and households, but the fashion industry as well. They are relevant and creates a great conversation, positive or negative.

      • Evil Britta June 25, 2014 at 05:31 #

Agree with this – happy to see her, dependent upon red carpet context.

    • Sandy June 24, 2014 at 11:26 #

    • Mandy June 24, 2014 at 12:14 #

Extremely valid point. I feel that everyone should try to keep their biases in check, whether they be positive or negative, when discussing fashion.

    • Dil June 24, 2014 at 13:45 #

I absolutely agree.. I may not be a fan of her or even her style most days.. But if she’s or anyone else for that matter is wearing something worth appreciating.. Personal biases shouldn’t overshadow the main aim of this site..which last I checked was to discuss and critique fashion not people..

    • Ben June 24, 2014 at 15:51 #

      Couldn’t agree more.

    • Raquel June 24, 2014 at 17:54 #

      + 1

    • Linda June 24, 2014 at 19:01 #

      • sara June 24, 2014 at 19:09 #

I think the fact that she sparks such a debate and interest- whether positive or negative is enough to feature her for her fashion choices. I dont feel that I would like certain celebrities in person but that does not stop me from either appreciating or disliking some of their fashion choices. This is a fashion blog and she is a part of the fashion world whether we like it or not- we’re not here to discuss her personal life or whether we like her personal decisions- we’re here to talk about what shes wearing.

    • Ashlee June 25, 2014 at 22:02 #

I couldn’t agree more, personally I really like the kardashians and would love to see them on here, but I can understand why people don’t like them. Either way I agree just because people don’t personally like them doesn’t mean we can’t review their style.

  4. Petra June 24, 2014 at 10:26 #

Well, technically, she is a celebrity after all. And I think her outfits, not that bad as of late, are always amusing at least. After all this is a fashion website and I don’t really think it matters whether we like her as a person or not

    • Ahot June 24, 2014 at 12:58 #

She is a socialite. They don’t really get coverage on here no matter how famous or fashionable. Trust that there are well-dressed socialites on the scene that give her a run for her money fashionwise.

      • Mindi June 24, 2014 at 17:00 #

Isn’t Olivia Palermo considered a socialite? She’s on here allll the time (which I’m totally fine with).

      • sara June 24, 2014 at 19:11 #

So are the WAG’s that are featured- they are not celebrities, but socialites also

      • Agnes June 26, 2014 at 09:26 #

Technically… I don’t consider the royalties featured on this site as celebreties either, but they are on this site for their fashion and thus I have to agree that since Olivia Palermo, the WAGs and – in my opinion – the royalties are featured a socialite such as Kim Kardashian should also be featured for bigger events. I do like some of the things she wears when there is a big thing and it would be interesting to see it on here.

  5. Keeks June 24, 2014 at 10:27 #

I would like more coverage on all of the older Kardashian siblings. I’m not their biggest fan but occasionally they make some interesting fashion choices and I would like your opinion on them! But not too much, they are photographed an awful lot! Personally I feel the same way about Kate Middleton but that’s my opinion.

  6. msd June 24, 2014 at 10:30 #

I’d like the site to ignore famous-for-being-famous people altogether. There are plenty of other places on the internet for that rubbish.

    • sophie June 24, 2014 at 16:26 #

I agree. Their “job” is staying hot.

I have no idea what they will do when they are in their 40’s.

Probably run to the cosmetic surgeon like Pimp Mama Kris.

  7. Martin June 24, 2014 at 10:32 #

It’s a massive no from me. She can wear all the Lanvin and Givenchy and Balmain that she wants, but she is still Kim Kardashian. I don’t think that someone should be excluded from the site merely because he or she is a polarising figure, but in my opinion her presence on this site contributes very little to the discussion of red carpet fashion.

    • meme June 24, 2014 at 14:37 #

Whenever she wears Lanvin, Givenchy or Balmain she makes everything look cheap. Her clothes are always two sizes too small and her face looks like plastic.

      • sophie June 24, 2014 at 16:27 #

I agree with both of you, I want to high five you. Meme: “Her face looks like plastic” I mean, look at the picture of her above.

      • Nat June 24, 2014 at 17:49 #

That is true yet I don’t think she makes it look cheap but rather looks very uncomfortable, like she would rather wear something else. She doesn’t sell me most of her looks. I don’t dislike her but I don’t think she is stylish enough to make to this website. All her looks are forgettable, except that ridiculous Givenchy gown she wore last year at the MET Gala.

  8. Leigh June 24, 2014 at 10:35 #

We’re here to discuss fashion right? Not what kind of a person she is or what she stands for? And her fashion choices have changed in the last few years, and some of them are interesting… I wouldn’t mind the occasional post – I’m always interested to see what you have to say :)

P.S. Maybe less of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, whose fashion sense is a complete snoozefest IMO. No offence meant.

    • fatima June 24, 2014 at 12:45 #

Here here! DOC is featured even during repeats when she wears the exact same look again.

      • Evil Britta June 25, 2014 at 05:32 #

    • Linda June 24, 2014 at 19:06 #

+1 I couldn’t agree more about Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She’s nice but nothing special in the fashion department.

    • maria June 24, 2014 at 22:26 #

      Agree 100%!

  9. glyc87 June 24, 2014 at 10:38 #

OMG. Kim Kardashian at a Daily Mail event? Ugh. No.
Keep it classy, FC – no Kardashians please

  10. dafne June 24, 2014 at 10:38 #

if we are voting for this, then next i suggest a poll to exclude from the site all queens and kings and princeses and their kids and sisters . we have democracy and since we say now who we like or not, then i don ‘t like all those unemployed, rich remains of a dead political system. for kim i vote exclude her also. she represents a dominating mass decay of culture.

    • Godiva June 24, 2014 at 16:13 #

      Bold statements… I like you 😉

  11. fashionmeal June 24, 2014 at 10:38 #

i think you should start posting articles on what the kardashians are wearing, maybe even the real housewives. why the hell not? if you like what they’re wearing, and they do genuinely look good, then why the hell not, right? i dont understand the hatred people have. why send such hateful emails regarding the kardashians? you dont like them, don’t comment on the post, move along to the next one. and i think your anti kardashian stance has perhaps unintentionally turned into what it is today by your fans. i remember reading your interview with them for their kardashian collection and you were pleasantly surprised by them so why spread the word of hate? even if it may be unintentional.
Also, of the number of celebrities you write about, there’s a huge number of them who might be awful as people, talking down to people around them, being rude, ungrateful…. thats more of a reason to dislike someone than someone who made her millions off of a sex tape and a reality tv. while it may not have been the path you’d have taken, at least she’s a nice person and not a raging bit*h to everyone around her. and i think fundamentally, for me, what’s most important is how you treat other people- the rest is all secondary. and the same applies to the real housewives etc. this website is just meant to be a fun place for people to come see what celebrities are wearing, let’s keep it as such. i love what you do here and i’d only hope that you’d appreciate kim etc for what they’re wearing vs the sex tape that they made. lets get past that!

    lots of love xxx

    • Ahot June 24, 2014 at 13:03 #

Not every celeb is worthy of a coverage. A feature here should be earned & a blog per se allows its owner to have an opinion & choose to cover people or not.

    • H June 24, 2014 at 13:35 #

I couldn’t agree more (except for the real housewives).

  12. Alina June 24, 2014 at 10:40 #

    I’m gonna say no.

I was on the fence for a minute, but I definitely prefer this site without the Kardashian clan (all of them) drama. :)

I think we need to learn to look at posts independently. I feel its the mature way to go. Cos if we are to look otherwise, we would have to slash the nos of posts on any site including this based on personal judgement and actual truth actions by a celeb. Who are we to judge a person on a fashion blog. By posting we don’t mean we cant criticize or dislike them. There are other mediums and platforms to judge other attributes and aspects of a person. But def not on a fashion blog.

  14. Christine June 24, 2014 at 10:48 #

No! This site is reputable for a reason. She on the other sites and let her stay there.

I dont care if all the money in the world can buy her a fashion sense, not interested in her at all. So no! No! Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!

    • Ahot June 24, 2014 at 12:55 #

      I agree.
Yup, let’s keep this place as the last bastion of sanity & good taste. We shall not fall prey to the the temptation, because the price to pay afterwards is high. Just look @ how devaluated Vogue is now (even though Lupita’s cover almost restored my faith in them. Nah).

& We need to remember that every feature as negative as it might be,every post about them helps to keep them relevant, hence their efforts nowadays to become “high end” in order to stay in the news.

It’s a testimony to your good work & reputation, that they are tring to get on the most respectable fashion blog of the last decade too. A blog still has the right to feature someone or not based on like/dislike. & this blog mostly features movies premieres, festivals, true redcarpet events & not socialites. & she is not a fixture on those, so NO.

Being featured here should be earned & an honor, not forced. It’s not page six. :-)

      • Prudence June 24, 2014 at 19:56 #

Everything you said is so on point. I believe featuring them on here would devalue this wonderful blog. This is not E! Or the daily mail.

  15. Noemi June 24, 2014 at 10:49 #

    Your friend is probably right.

  16. Britta June 24, 2014 at 10:56 #

I did not realize you were that snobby. A page about fashion should preferably be about fashion – and not about certain people. I don’t believe in dividing people because of their name – I believe in fashion!

    • John June 24, 2014 at 18:59 #

  17. kimzazz June 24, 2014 at 10:58 #

No…just no….A site with no kardashian trash is a blessing. Thanks.

  18. Jake June 24, 2014 at 10:59 #

Regardless of whether she is a bad person or not, I feel that this website is about fashion and views about what people are wearing, and there are moments when she looked fabulous. I don’t see how she gives people inconveniences, especially in this website. We shouldn’t be denied of her beautiful fashion moments. #justsaying

    • John June 24, 2014 at 19:00 #

      Totally agree!

  19. stephanie June 24, 2014 at 11:03 #

I appreciate you asking your readers this question. Although I answered no ( because I respect that this site has resisted the temptation to use the Kardashians as click bait, as so many other sites do), I wouldn’t actually mind seeing her if what she wore was something like you’ve pictured above – fashionable and respectable. Also on the red carpet, of course.

  20. Kaylie June 24, 2014 at 11:06 #

I unfollowed eonline on twitter a year ago because it seemed like the only people they were reporting on were the Kardashians. I have been happy to not “keep up with the Kardashians” since then. This is a large clan of sisters that make *lots* of red carpet appearances, and their desperation to cling to fame for as long as they can is seen in every dress they wear. I wouldn’t like seeing them on this site. If you do end up covering them, maybe you could keep it to big events like the Met Ball, etc. and not let them “overpower” the site with all of their red carpet appearances? Just a thought. Thanks for always keeping me up to date on the fashion world :)

  21. Noemi June 24, 2014 at 11:07 #

Honestly, I could understand if you featured her (only her, not the other two sisters) once in a while, for example on occasion of big events like the Met Gala. But seeing her here every day (because she goes out every day wearing designers clothes)… no. Also because I already imagine all the drama, all the comments by her fans.
This blog is great, let’s keep it like this.

  22. Eri June 24, 2014 at 11:09 #

Hmmm I’m torn actually. I am by no means a fan of hers but sometimes I’m curious about what she’s wearing. On the other hand, I prefer your site not to contribute to the kardarshian’s fame like all reputable fashion magazines seem to be doing nowadays – there’s not a day without any posts about them on my Facebook wall!! Especially since Kimye’s nuptials, they are everywhere and over exposed…. So all in all, it would be interesting to see her only when her styling is not trashy but praise-worthy from a high-fashion perspective. Would there be too many occasions like that though?

  23. Bec June 24, 2014 at 11:13 #

This site has always been, first and foremost about the fashion, and that’s why I love it!

When you first stopped featuring Kim I thought fair enough but I found it really annoying when you posted her horrendous Givenchy MET ball gown from last year – you either feature her or you don’t, not just when she looks terrible.

I don’t really like her, but I’m the first to admit that sometimes she looks absolutely lovely, and she is one of the biggest celebs on the planet (whether we like it or not!) So I think she deserves to be featured on here.

    • John June 24, 2014 at 19:03 #

    • thanks June 25, 2014 at 10:19 #

i liked that flower-dress and i saw it here. otherwise i would not have seen it.

  24. Martin June 24, 2014 at 11:15 #

Kim in New York last week. Do we really need looks like this on Red Carpet Fashion Awards? I rest my case.

    • Lisa June 24, 2014 at 14:38 #

She probably wore that for the convenience of breast feeding….

I am also torn. I don’t want to see her everyday, but sometimes she looks really good.

There were 68 posts by the time I posted this – Kim sure gets a big response no matter what she does. Are we helping you make this decision at all?

  25. Cate Anderson June 24, 2014 at 11:19 #

I second the commenter who mentioned Kate Middleton. I am not a fan off KK but at least she makes some interesting fashion choices – unlike K’Mid.

I’m all for banning HRH until she wears something worth talking about.

    • Nat June 24, 2014 at 17:53 #

I am with you. No more Kate Middleton.

  26. Jackie June 24, 2014 at 11:19 #

Thank you for asking us! It’s so appreciated. I’ve been reading your blog for the last 5/6 years!

Is there any chance you could feature Crown Princess Mary? I haven’t been able to find any blogs dedicated to her style and I really like it! So classy but also modern and youthful. Plus I adore her love of prints!

    Please :)

  27. Caro Chanel June 24, 2014 at 11:35 #

I always wondered why Kim is never featured on this site, now at least I know. 😀
I love your blog, Catherine, I stop by several times a day to see what’s new and I take this discussion as an opportunity to congratulate you on all you’ve achieved so far and to thank you for your hard work. I do not think there should be a ban on anyone. This is a fashion blog, to tell the world (and us ^^) what’s hip and new and interesting and if there’s such a look worthy of discussion you should write about it no matter who’s wearing it. That’s the point, isn’t it? You don’t have to write about Kim 24/7 but a post every now and then if she deserves it, why not? Personally, I think there’s no need to exclude anyone. We’re here to discuss the outfit, the look and the styling, not the music or movie and least of all the person. Last but not least, this is your blog and I think you should not let anyone tell you about who you should or shouldn’t write. There will always someone who doesn’t like this person or that person. I’m not a fan of Tilda Swinton’s style but even I can admit she looked great last week. I’m glad you reported about her. And Rihanna? I don’t like what she wears, I don’t like her attitude and I don’t like her music. That doesn’t stop me from reading your blog though.

Do what you want, do it as a professional and be fair with your judgements. That’s all I’m asking for.

PS: since you are indeed asking: I love Kim. Sometimes she looks great, sometimes she don’t. Like so many other stars. Funny, isn’t it? 😉

    • Denise June 24, 2014 at 13:32 #

Totally agree with you. Great points made. I also would like to see the posts of Kim worth seeing.

    • Lisa June 24, 2014 at 14:40 #

      Great post – I agree!

    • Raquel June 24, 2014 at 18:02 #

      + 1

    • gallegamdq June 25, 2014 at 15:51 #

This comment says exactly how I feel about your question! +1

  28. Valissa June 24, 2014 at 11:38 #

Honestly, I visit gossip and fashion sites/blogs almost every day and they are over-saturated with the kardashians! There is literally a new event, new candids, new Instagram pictures or a new piece of gossip…It is never ending with this family!
This is the one site I can go on and NOT have to see their desperate attempts to remain famous. I really hope it can stay that way…however, if you do choose to feature them, hopefully you’ll only feature Kim and only when she wears an interesting runway piece on the RED CARPET not when she’s aimlessly strolling around LA for her daily photo op…

  29. Carmen June 24, 2014 at 11:40 #

For me is a big NO, I’d prefer this site as a KK free zone.

  30. Fashion Runner Point June 24, 2014 at 11:43 #

Ahaha “and, most importantly, a Snooki-and-J-Wow-free zone” … Great!

  31. Issy June 24, 2014 at 12:06 #

Isn’t this website about discussing the clothes, not the person? While Kimmy can be predictable at times, aren’t Angie and Jen? I’d rather see someone taking a risk with fashion as opposed to someone wearing head to toe black every red carpet. Let’s have some fashion fun!!

    • Marcel June 24, 2014 at 12:19 #

Sorry , Angie y Jen are not ex porn performers !

      • John June 24, 2014 at 19:09 #

Marcel and everyone here, I really wanna know what´s the problem with porn performers? They work as almost everyone does, so why do you bash their way of living?

  32. Diana June 24, 2014 at 12:07 #

Please, no. You don’t need her in your pages.

  33. arjun June 24, 2014 at 12:13 #

please please dnt do “the vogue” shame
please we are so tired of all these people and sorry to say i dnt find her fashionable, they look it’s just to be sex and boobs popin out
im sorry neither her or ur publiscist aka kanye west are fashionnable

  34. Marcel June 24, 2014 at 12:18 #

PLEASE KEEP THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For God’s sake.

    • Marcel June 24, 2014 at 12:24 #

ENOUGH with the pornification and bastardization of our culture / society.

  35. TR June 24, 2014 at 12:30 #

I seen enough go them else where.

plus their fan will come in and hijack the posts saying they can do no wrong. just like the twihards a few years back.

    no kardashian or jenners.

There are other people who should get posted who don’t get as much air/internet time as Kim. don’t care who her husband is.

    • sophie June 24, 2014 at 16:33 #

“There are other people who should get posted who don’t get as much air/internet time as Kim. don’t care who her husband is.” I agree TR. Plus, there are too many Kardashian fans on this post already.

    • Camila June 25, 2014 at 16:40 #

  36. kane June 24, 2014 at 12:43 #

I’m personally not interested in trashy or boring fashion, so if the Kardashians, Rita, all these British Z-listers with their deep tans and endless heels or The Duchess at the other end of the spectrum hit one out of the park, I don’t mind seeing a post on it. Otherwise I’d rather continue scroll past such a post or not seeing them on the blog at all.

  37. Agathe June 24, 2014 at 13:12 #

I don’t know the Kardashians well because I live in a Kardashian-free country but I like the fact that Kim has quite a different body type than most of the starlets usually featured on this website. For this reason alone I wouldn’t mind getting an update when she made an interesting fashion choice.

    Thanks for asking!

PS: we can get rid of the Dichess’ re-runs if you ask me.

  38. EmmaWoodhouse June 24, 2014 at 13:17 #

I vote no. One of the things I love about your blog is that it is about serious fashion (which is, of course, fun as well!). I can come here and don’t have to worry about rolling my eyes constantly over these posers, as I do everywhere else. Vogue, the Met Gala–all of them have pandered to Kim. You haven’t. I think that’s pretty awesome, and I’d love to keep it that way! That said, it’s your blog, and you can do whatever the heck you want. I’ll still be reading, because I admire and respect your professionalism and love this site to death.

    • sophie June 24, 2014 at 16:34 #

Emma thank you! “Vogue, the Met Gala–all of them have pandered to Kim. You haven’t. I think that’s pretty awesome, and I’d love to keep it that way!” Hallelujah.

    • Camila June 24, 2014 at 17:42 #

      YES. I agree with Emma…
I absolutely LOVE this site and respect your professionalism. I won’t stop visiting if you post about them, but I would like to keep it a Kardashian/Jenner free zone. We see them EVERYWHERE else and it’s nice to visit your site and see fresh faces.

      • Camila June 24, 2014 at 17:49 #

I had seen so many pictures of her in that dress before you posted it, because they are everywhere on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter….. I loved the post on the Jenners where you said they looked desperate for attention. They are SO young and honestly I’d rather have my little sister look up to young stars like Kiernan Shipka and Chloe Moretz who are tasteful and age-appropriate.

    • Larissa June 24, 2014 at 19:42 #

I agree. I appreciate FC for staying true to herself and for expressing her own (negative) opinion about Kim not giving a damn if she’s the “it girl” of the moment everyone else in the fashion system is obsessing about.. It’s bad enough she was on the cover of Vogue (what a disgrace), if you don’t feel like posting about her then you shouldn’t. I personally don’t think it would be a great loss in
      terms of fashion.

    • Rem June 24, 2014 at 21:07 #

Totally agree with you but I must add that if Kim is featured there is no reason the other member of the reality club shouldn’t be and just how annoying would that be.They would require numerous posts especially considering Kim’s daily walks to nowhere

  39. Melissa June 24, 2014 at 13:31 #

I voted yes because I trust in your ability to judge when a Kardashian/Jenner look is worth talking about.

    • sara June 24, 2014 at 19:17 #

      +1, great point.

    • Koma June 24, 2014 at 22:39 #

    • Jess2 June 25, 2014 at 11:20 #

Yes!! It isn’t like Catherine is going to lose complete control of her faculties and make every second post about a Kardashian. She has served us well thus far!

  40. H June 24, 2014 at 13:44 #

I think we cannot throw garbage to the Kardashian family, at least they do businesses and look like nice people. We have read about Jessica Alba here (who like for the last 4 years didn’t have any movies coming out) or the same for Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Camilla Belle, who have just been walking red carpets at major events and doing nothing but charging to go there, so they are actually pulling a Kardashian business strategy. And what about the royals? They do absolutely nothing, I am sorry to the fans but they just live off of your taxes so… that is way worse to me.

Something we cannot ignore is that they have filtered the fashion world by attending the front rows, wearing great designers and everything else, so they are basically everywhere in fashion now.

I wanted to let everybody know that I am not a KArdashian fan but they don’t bother me at all since I don’t read gossip blogs, but this is not a moral site, the owner posts what she thinks is good for her and her readers, but let’s be honest and say we read about people here who are famous for the sake of being famous and don’t have any projects or anything coming up, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for wanting to know our opinion by the way, keep on rocking Ms. Callon.

  41. Tracy June 24, 2014 at 14:01 #

This is one of my favourite fashion blogs that I keep up with pretty much on a daily basis! I understand that there are many unfavourable opinions about the Kardashians, but they are heavily involved in the fashion realm, and at times their fashion choices have been commendable. I don’t hate nor love Kim, but try to keep an objective point of view when judging fashion. If you do decide to axe KK completely on your blog, I do hope you continue to feature Kendall as she seems like a potential in the fashion world. :)

  42. cp June 24, 2014 at 14:08 #

Cool fashion is cool fashion. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss your take on her Met Gala dress this year even at the expense of seeing the previous year’s. If the outfit is worthy, please post!

  43. Z June 24, 2014 at 14:30 #

This is my first ever post and I have to say I love L.O.V.E your blog. It’s the first thing that I look at when I get to the office in the morning. That being said, please don’t ruin my morning.

If and when, you deceide to post about her. I will simply scroll down as if she never existed.

  44. meme June 24, 2014 at 14:34 #

Please NO. The Kuntrashians sisters make everything they wear look like trash. That dress on Kimmode is hideous.

  45. Paige Nicola June 24, 2014 at 14:36 #

RCFA should not subjective based on personality of celebrities. I’m sure that if you met many of the celebrities you post on here in person, you wouldn’t like them either. The Kardashians are just most upfront about this. This is a fashion blog, not a personality blog, so by actively omitting the Kardashians… you are really losing credibility of your site. This blog is about celebrities and fashion.

    • Fausta June 25, 2014 at 22:44 #

  46. cat June 24, 2014 at 14:43 #

i wouldn’t mind seeing posts about kim kardashians, maybe only at the big events like the vanity fair party and the MET etc.

  47. Prudence June 24, 2014 at 14:54 #

There are ENOUGH blogs/websites discussing that family, its nice to come on here and see no trace of that. I mean Kardashian aside, Kim imo is dressing far worst than back in 2011. Just because you are wearing more high end designers does not mean your style has improved. She simply has zero class and is so vulgar at times with the way she dresses, we do not need another site advertising that.

    • liz June 24, 2014 at 15:33 #

Yep, totally agree! Every other site is inundated with her. Why cover her here, too? And her clothes always look so desperate and try-hard.

      • sophie June 24, 2014 at 16:36 #

I agree with you both. I’ve never felt so passionate about commenting on any other post on this site. Sorry, but this time I feel it’s necessary. The Kartrashian Plague MUST BE STOPPED.

  48. Jessy June 24, 2014 at 14:59 #

Just curious if you know Kim personally? You said you have an opinion about Kim as a person (which seems to be enough to stop posting her from your site) so just wondering if that’s because you know her personally or just from how she was portrayed on the media.

i love this site and that’s because I always just thought this was just about the clothes (which is why it stands out better than the E news or people magazine site which seems to be about the gossip more than the clothes). If a celeb wears amazing clothes on the red carpet i dont see why it shouldn’t be featured here? it will be very disappointing if it was simply because of the gossip about that celebrity.

I have no opinion about Kim, again if she wears nice clothes I’d like to see it. Why not?

  49. magan June 24, 2014 at 15:01 #

See the looks Kim is hard, but I think to like this is a fashion blog and style she has to appear.

  50. Amy June 24, 2014 at 15:04 #

I voted no, but I actually wouldn’t mind seeing her covered here now and again. Instances such as the Met Ball I’d be OK with. As someone else pointed out, she wears designer clothes constantly so it would be *possible* to feature her every day – which I definitely don’t want. Big events only!

  51. beta June 24, 2014 at 15:16 #

One on the main reasons I love this site is that it’s classy. The kardasians are already flooding the daily mail and similar. They do wear couture and even Wintour had given her seal of approval so i guess they are ‘fashion’. But I’d still prefer a Kardasian free site.

  52. liz June 24, 2014 at 15:32 #

noooooo!!! i’d rather see kate middleton in the same coat dress for the rest of my life than kim in her tacky clothes that always look like they’re going to bust a button because they’re so freakishly tight.

or at least let’s compromise on only showing her at major events and not all the time, because she goes out daily and i can’t handle daily sightings of her. i already see her all the time on every other website.

  53. Fiona June 24, 2014 at 15:43 #

Please don’t, FC! I really like RCFA because while other websites featured the Kardashians so heavily, you were the first to introduce us to Fan Bing Bing and Sonam Kapoor. If I want to see what Kim was wearing I could easily go to other gossip sites anyway :)
I’d say save it for the big occasions like the Met Gala, Oscars, Emmys, etc. I don’t see any point seeing her pictures out and about in Calabasas every day in the website

  54. Fiona June 24, 2014 at 15:44 #

  55. Courtney June 24, 2014 at 15:48 #

I’ve been an avid reader for two years + ever since I stumbled upon your site and I read the blog because I respect your opinion and trust your fashion instincts – I think it’s wrong to avoid posting on certain individuals just because of what anonymous posters think. This is a blog about the fashion – not about any one individual. Please, please, please lift the ban on Kim K. I understand not posting Housewives/Paris Hilton etc but let’s be honest they aren’t very fashionable nor do they often wear haute couture. Kim’s fashion game lately has been on point – she’s been on the cover of Vogue and her stylist Monica Rose deserves to be featured. Please correct this.

  56. Ben June 24, 2014 at 15:56 #

If you can post about Angelina and Jennifer’s back-to-back black looks, I don’t see anything wrong with posting about Kim Kardashian. Regardless of whether she looks good or not, she seems to really enjoy fashion and I think that should be merited. People that don’t like her can always scroll past (I know I sure do when I see celebrities I don’t like).

  57. Dali June 24, 2014 at 16:06 #

One of the main reasons I love this website is because it’s classy. I wouldn’t be able to say the same thing with Kim Kardashian in it. The fact that you’ve never featured her gives you so much honour.
There are so many websites and magazines that talk of her everyday – for no reason – and to be honest I’m just sick of seeing her everywhere. It’s refreshing to read a Kardashians-free blog and in my opinion there is no need at all to see her here too.

  58. sophie June 24, 2014 at 16:13 #

I think she is not worthy of being on this site. Her fame came from a sex tape and her father after all.

She is a reality star, not an actress, director, musician etc. Her talent is her looks.

The Kardashian family is as classless and tacky as they come. They sell themselves and somehow, that became profitable for them.

    • jasmin June 24, 2014 at 18:49 #

  59. Godiva June 24, 2014 at 16:20 #

KK free please. I love that this website introduces me to people that I might not normally know of and is usually the first to pick out new favs. I know this site was the first to feature Lupita before I knew who she was or 12 Years a Slave. Also, you feature so many wonderful Asian actors.

I don’t want another daily mail or tabloid rag. I can go to any other site and get inundated with them.

  60. Cássia June 24, 2014 at 16:42 #

I think that’s okay post her looks here, because every celebrity has good and bad fashion choices! That’s my opinion!

  61. Annkat June 24, 2014 at 17:18 #

This is about the clothes not her, so once on a while IF she is wearing something memorable is ok to see her here.

  62. Naomi June 24, 2014 at 17:32 #

NO!! I see them EVERYWHERE. It’s so refreshing to be able to browse this blog and not see them here as well.

I come here to browse looks that I can’t see on T.V. other than the big award shows. With the Kardashians, I just have to watch an episode of their show to see their wardrobe.

  63. John June 24, 2014 at 17:42 #

There are plenty celebrities I don’t care for posted about on sites I enjoy reading including RCFA, I don’t see why you limit yourself by banning someone from fashion coverage because of personal opinion. No will force you to write about her positively but it would be good to know who she is wearing whether that is positive or not.

  64. democracydiva June 24, 2014 at 17:48 #

Thanks for putting this to a vote, even if it is just about 50/50 right now! On my blog, I tend to not post about the Kardashian family as a rule. But for events like the Met Gala, I include Kim. If she makes such a ridiculous statement at the event that it seems silly to talk about the event without discussing her, I allow it.

And since one of the Jenner sisters is now officially a runway model, I write about her along with many other models. But I do understand and appreciate your desire to keep them off your site when you know you’ll never have positive things to say about them anyway. It wards off a lot of unnecessary negativity.

  65. Elaine June 24, 2014 at 17:53 #

FC, I thought your opinion on the kardashians changed following your meeting with them to discuss their Kardashian Kollection? Maybe that was short lived?

Nevertheless, I personally wouldn’t mind seeing the odd post on the family (where it is a outfit deserving a post) however I don’t have any interest in seeing daily posts on them (the DM (aka the ‘daily kardashian’ does enough of that!!!)

  66. RNA June 24, 2014 at 18:07 #

I am mostly a lurker here, but this prompted me to say something.

Sure, this is a fashion blog and we should focus solely on fashion, but I honestly do not like her or her family. Just about every single incident involving them becomes the Internet’s front page news, and I just don’t care one way or another. As the saying goes, they are famous for doing absolutely nothing.

If anyone wants to talk about their fashion sense, they haven’t worn anything fashion-foward or jaw-dropping (of the good kind). Getting access to designer brands doesn’t count either. None of the girls have carried the designs or accessorized the look well enough to garner a post here, unless it looks interesting to FC (or another MET Gala shocker, whichever comes first).

I love coming to this site because not only it is Kardashian-free, this is one of the few places that showcases Asian celebrities, as well as up and coming actresses and new fashion designers. I appreciate the fact the weight of this decision is in our hands, but, as many others have said, there are plenty of other sites that feature the family already. Honestly, in this situation, it’s still your website, FC, and if you don’t like KK and don’t want to feature her, then keep it that way. It’s your decision.

Keep the Kardashian drama off this site and stay classy as always, FC!

  67. Joy June 24, 2014 at 18:10 #

FC, I totally hear what you are saying. And I totally respect what you are trying to do with your site. This is a hard decision. I think you have to go with what your head & heart tells you to do. Just because something is pushed in our face, doesn’t mean it’s right and sometimes it takes that one person to stand for something.

I will admit, recently I have taken notice of her ommission/absence from your posts. I guess I missed your declaration of this as a “Kardashian Free Zone”, as I remember you used to post about her.

I get it she’s annoying as all heck, but whether we like it or not she has a strong involvement in fashion. Givenchy, Lanvin, etc. speak to that point. In my opinion, if you post about her you give the critics the option to criticize, as I’m sure most people will be oh so happy to do so. Personally, I missed your coverage of Vogue, I wanted to hear your opinion, read everyones comments, and of course voice my own opinion. I also missed her coverage of the Met & I guess her wedding. I remember in the way back past you used to cover large celebrity wedding, I think.

So to sum up, personally I would cover her, but I SO get & respect if you do not.

    • Valerie June 26, 2014 at 08:10 #

I agree with everything you’re saying. I also don’t think she should be covered on a daily basis, cause I think everyone agrees that would be a kardashian-overload. But if a look is particularly good, i’ld say feature her and give credit where credit is due. I don’t regularly visit other blogs, but I have to admit I was curious about het Vogue post or MET look. So I would say it would be nice if she was covered here for big events, just like any other celebrity, because that’s what she is -whether you like it or not- and often wears haute couture. It is about fashion after all, not about character flaws.

That being said, she isn’t really getting all that much attention where I live. I mean, people know her, and we know about the voque cover and wedding, but I think that’s more because of the uproar she’s causing, than for who she is. But the “lack” of Kardashian drama over here could explain why I don’t hate het or think she is ultimate example of everything that is wrong with the world 😉

It’s your blog, and I think everyone would respect your choice, no matter what you decide to do. I do think it’s nice you take our opinion under consideration.

  68. Puneet June 24, 2014 at 18:13 #

This is a fashion website and if she does have good looks, she should be posted. Yes the media is over-saturated with the Kardashian’s but give credit when it is due. I am no Kardashian stan, but it amazes me how much hate they get. Also, it’s quite sad that a lot of the comments are shaming Kim for having a sex tape. She has moved on from that and so should the public.

  69. mm June 24, 2014 at 18:21 #

I like kim and the kardashians. I am torn because you can see her looks anywhere, she dominates most media sites. So i dont need to see her here. but for the look you have posted,I loved the dress. The detail, it is something different, and she looks good. I wanted to hear your opinion on the look. But when things come from a negative place they are better left unsaid. So i voted NO

  70. steph June 24, 2014 at 18:44 #

she falls in the realm of all the other reality “stars” and should be left out as such. In fact I believe none of the kardashian/jenner clan should be a part of this. just because she married someone who actually has a career and talent does not negate the fact that she does nothing and should not be rewarded for that on an amazing blog such as yours. just because she is a more famous reality star does not take away from the fact that she is, in fact, ONLY a reality star.

    • fatima June 24, 2014 at 20:18 #

She has actually has her own clothing brand. She does more than be filmed for the show.

And when was the last time Jessica Alba was actually in a movie? A lot of the women here actually don’t do anything, but are famous for being famous, even if they used to have a career.

      • Marcel June 24, 2014 at 20:51 #

Jessica Alba was never a porn performer.

        • Cara June 25, 2014 at 00:12 #

That was a sex tape recorded by her and her boyfriend, not a porn movie. There are couples who do that in their intimacy. Maybe even Jessica Alba and her husband have one and no one knows. 😉

      • Lashae June 25, 2014 at 08:45 #

What does JA have to do with KK? Absolutely nothing. I don’t care for JA as actress but Jessica is still an actress and has many films made/filmed in 2014. Here are some there are below:

-Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
        -Dear Eleanor
        -Barely Lethal

        • Eri June 25, 2014 at 09:08 #

Agree.. And having her own fashion brand does not automatically mean she’s recognised in the fashion world. I don’t think FC would feature Jessica Simpson’s line for instance. (No offence Jessica!)

    • Rem June 24, 2014 at 21:03 #

I totally agree with you and the other no voters!there is no reason that she should be featured and not snookie et al. I just love how refreshing this site is but I do understand why FC has felt the need for this poll as she tries to keep readers happy but just imagine the numerous posts that the realitygang would require especially with Kims daily walks to nowhere!

  71. Dhppy June 24, 2014 at 18:53 #

I don’t specifically have a problem with the Kardashians. I’ve tried very hard to avoid all shows about them (though I still know an alarming amount). I just would rather not feed into these “famous for being famous” people’s delusions of grandeur by giving them yet another spotlight.

  72. Britta June 24, 2014 at 19:00 #

I did not realize you were that snobby. A page about fashion should preferably be about fashion – and not about certain people.
I don’t believe in dividing people because of their name – I believe in fashion!

  73. Catherine June 24, 2014 at 20:16 #

Catherine, FC, Our sweet number 1 fashion writer, please do not feature this girl.

Unless the MET Gala. That one time Anna and Ricardo obviously set her up as a joke of the town, then yes that was with merit lol.

If only you knew how REFRESHING it is to go on a site that is Kim Kardashian free. Homegirl is on every freaking blog and site.

Girl, you’re above that!!!!!!! Lol and you’re not losing any credibility or points either, child please!

At the end of the day, it’s your decision, but thanks so much for allowing us have input.

  74. EC June 24, 2014 at 20:53 #

Why not? fashion is fashion regardless of who is wearing it

  75. AJ June 24, 2014 at 20:59 #

Kim Kardashian should be featured on a fashion site because she has made her mark in the fashion industry and makes very interesting (sometimes controverisal) fashion choices which I think we should be open to discuss in such a forum. She is kind of a big deal whether we like it or not. And just IMO, she’s iconic to pop culture.

  76. Schuy June 24, 2014 at 21:03 #

I’ve been following this website for close to five years now and I remember when FC used to feature Kim. I have to say she didn’t contribute much then. In fact, there is only one outfit I can recall truly liking. And Honestly, I don’t believe she would have any more to contribute now. As others have stated before, every other media outlet has caved into reporting about them in order to get more website traffic. I have nothing but respect for the fact that this website has not done the same. If you want to see her looks, E! covers every look her and her family wears. I’m more than over them. In the end, I will be fine with the decision no matter the outcome, but as for me I’d like to not draw any more attention to the Kardashians.

  77. Lisam June 24, 2014 at 21:11 #

Nobody should be off limits because of who they are. My only objection to featuring Kim is that her style is pretty bland. I wish Fashion Critic would feature Kourtney as she dresses pretty well.

  78. oksana June 24, 2014 at 21:12 #

This site is about fashion and love about fashion and kim k. is neither one of them. I dont want to see her here.NO

  79. Miss H June 24, 2014 at 21:16 #

Can we ditch Miley while you’re at it? 😉

    • Joy June 24, 2014 at 23:00 #

I get it Miley “actually” does something. But she’s pretty offensive as well.

  80. Pratyush June 24, 2014 at 21:22 #

Well it’s your site to do and feature as you please, but then is this site an opinion on a person or what they’re wearing? I’m no Kardashian fan but she does have interesting and questionable fashion choices that can spark interesting debate. And it’s not like the site does not feature consistently questionably dresses celebs? In my opinion, let’s get off the moralistic high horses coz and talk about fashion… Coz she is undeniably informing a huge demographics choices.

  81. simone June 24, 2014 at 22:03 #

Noone complains that Nicole Richie is featured on here, and she’s just ‘famous for being famous’?

Yes, she is a designer now but guess what so is Kim 😛

  82. katie June 24, 2014 at 22:30 #

Eek FC so many opinions and thoughts!I am not sure how you will make up your mind, poll or no poll! I did vote for a yes on seeing who KK is wearing especially for major events.

  83. AnderBoBo June 24, 2014 at 22:48 #

As a long time reader of your fantastic website I would like to request that you continue to ignore the Kardashians (and Jenners for that matter) Their every move is so meticulously covered by hundreds of other websites that it isn’t a necessary discussion to have here. I’d much prefer you devote your limited time to other celebrities.

  84. Mark June 24, 2014 at 23:27 #

You already feature her in the “Shop Her Closet” section, so why not?! I’ve always found it strange that she was featured there and not anywhere else.

  85. Alfie June 24, 2014 at 23:28 #

No please keep the ban, if people want to see what this clan wears they can go to their instagram as they are always posting on there.

I would rather see new and upcoming celebs featured on here that I was not aware of before and see something new to the fashion table not some rality TV star who jumps on every trend just for the sake of being photographed, fashion is not just what you wear and knowing them they’ll be stuck in Balmain, Givenchy and whatever high fashion name they think is trendy.

Give exposure to new and upcoming starlets, if it weren’t for you I would not have known how well dressed Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper from Mad Men) is or have seen red carpets from international events and how their stars interpret some runway looks.

  86. JJ June 24, 2014 at 23:28 #

    What’s a TOWIE?

  87. Nat39 June 24, 2014 at 23:41 #

I don’t really care who she is as a person, whether she is liked or not, but I just think there are more deserving people for this valuable spot stylewise. I wouldn’t mind if the very stylish Sheikha Mozah would be featured more often instead, for example.

    • Nat39 June 25, 2014 at 03:09 #

That being said, I don’t mind an occasional post on Kim if she is improving in the fashion department.

  88. Catherine June 24, 2014 at 23:42 #

PLEASE don’t feature Kim Kardashian. She is a tasteless nobody with absolutely no style. She does not deserve to be featured alongside Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron, Diane Kruger, Anne Hathaway, and Natalie Portman. Her major accomplishment was a “leaked” sex tape. She and her family contribute nothing to society, yet many celebrate them. Kim and Kanye’s Vogue cover was bad enough. Please, don’t let them invade another fashion territory I love!

  89. Catherine June 24, 2014 at 23:44 #

Also, Alfie makes an excellent point. This is the site that introduced me to Fan Bingbing and Kiernan Shipka. I come here to learn about style and appreciate those who truly have style, not see more of the overexposed prostitutes that are the Kardashians.

  90. Ashley June 24, 2014 at 23:50 #

I don’t understand why this is even an issue. Who cares if you don’t like the celeb featured? What makes her any different than some of the mediocre actresses featured on here? Just because they recite lines for a director?

Like it or not, Kim is a fashion icon and to ban her from the blog would just be pointless. Fashion should be the only thing that matters and she has been dressing well lately!

    • julyol1972 June 25, 2014 at 01:04 #

Please! “fashion icon” is a term that’s thrown around far too liberally and unreservedly nowadays – especially for the likes of someone like Kim. Just because she can afford designer dudes doesn’t make her aspirational, or fashionable. It takes more than wearing expensive clothes, to make an icon, and Kim is sorely lacking in the “other” department. Fashion like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and since this is Katherine ‘ s site, that means that she gets to post pics and comment on whomever she chooses. The mere fact that she was diplomatic enough to open this up for debate means that she recognizes they’re those for and against Kim being posted. I think she wears sometimes beautiful clothing, but cheapens them with an overexposure of skin, namely boobs. Nor does she breathe any personality or confidence into her clothing. She’s like a pretty wax figure who is dressed in the outfits chosen for her, and paraded in front of the paparazzi every, single, godforsaken day

Nope! I like this site being Kim-free! The media is already over saturated with her image, and it’s nice to find one outlet that isn’t swayed by Kanye and Kris’ s machinations.

  91. leigh June 25, 2014 at 00:13 #

FC, please no. They get enough undeserved attention elsewhere. Keep your stance strong!

    Love your work :)

  92. Cara June 25, 2014 at 00:21 #

Oh. So apparently if you film yourself having sex with your boyfriend and he leaks the tape, you deserve to be banished from the world.

I don’t get the hate. Like some commenters said, this site features some “actresses” that are only in the spotlight nowadays for dressing cute: Camilla Belle, Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba and some others. They are also famous just for being famous but people seem to be fine with them. Maybe it’s because they are skinny and cute? I don’t know.

I think the Kardashians are going to disappear soon, but I don’t think it’s so negative to feature Kim here. She has a different body type and she actually makes some good choices sometimes (other times she picks great clothes that are inadequate for her body type – like this white Bailmain – or for the occasion, but she has had hits that could be inspiring for those who have a body more similar to hers.

You could feature her in events, not necessarily when she’s out in the street every day being photographed (although you do feature that Rosie girl and Jessica Alba when they call the paps to be photographed looking stylish in the street just like Kim does, so… idk. I don’t see the big deal. Those who don’t like her can look away, your reputation won’t be ruined because you post about her once in a while.

And yes, she’s more interesting than Kate Snooze Middleton.

  93. Floyd June 25, 2014 at 01:01 #

You know what? This is YOUR website. Who cares what we think? You are not working for us. You are doing what you love for yourself, keep doing that. Any decision that you feel comfortable with, we will be here for you, because we respect your taste and style. Do not feel obliged to do anything against your own conscience and judgement. If you want to feature and give an opinion on her fashion choice, by all means; if you don’t want to, you don’t have to answer to anybody but yourself. RCFA will still be the first website I open everyday. Regardless it is impossible to miss what KK wears everyday via JustJared and Daily Mail anyways and I can form my own opinion.

    • julyol1972 June 25, 2014 at 01:06 #

My sentiments exactly! Very well said!

    • Nat39 June 25, 2014 at 03:00 #

This is where I’m going to have to disagree, sorry. Interacting with your readers, knowing your reader and responding – this is what a great blogger does.

      • Rye June 25, 2014 at 03:56 #

+1. FC always interact with their readers and the fact that FC made this poll shows that readers opinion do matters

  94. Emma June 25, 2014 at 02:30 #

I think yes. She has definitely made a shift to higher fashion lately. This site is about FASHION- not a gossip site about celebrities and which ones you like and which ones you don’t. People hating on the family in my opinion just seem immature and looking to hate. You don’t have to like someone to be able to appreciate their fashion.

  95. jane June 25, 2014 at 02:34 #

i honestly don’t like Kim or her fashion choices, she always look trashy to me. even lanvin, givenchy or balmain looks cheap on her! also no more DOC. she is also boring really plain. but please feature more of Crown Princess Victoria, Queen Maxima, Queen Letizia and Queen Mathilde.

  96. Alex V June 25, 2014 at 04:34 #

IMO Kim is growing her personal fashion taste since she’s been going out with Kanye, she’s got access to the best designers and she’s not doing bad at all, if you decide not to post about her we’ll be searching her looks on instagram or another blogs, it’s no problem, but I think controversy is her daily basis, and this blog is somewhat about fashion controversy too.

  97. Samah June 25, 2014 at 05:57 #

Please no Kardashians. But I really believe it’s your website and you should be the one to decide what to post. It’s a nice gesture though.

I’d love to see more of Queen Rania of Jordan. She’s the epitome of elegance and I dare say she dresses better than all Queens of Europe!

  98. Jessica June 25, 2014 at 05:59 #

Kim is everywhere as it is. Please don’t put her here. It’s my one Kartrashian-free online fashion refuge.

  99. Phoenix June 25, 2014 at 05:59 #

Ughhh this is a difficult question your asking…..

I loveeeed that your site didnt show these freaks (not a fan of any of them, never will be). Frankly, its a hugeeee part of why I became addicted to your site. Because I don’t have to look at numerous reality freaks.

These idiots areeee a part of the fashion-consciousness…..even though I totally hate to admit it. So to be fashion-fair, I suppose its only open-minded to do so.

But then again….it is YOUR site. You have a wonderful following already. Do you need to expand more? Is it too small?? Do you need to enlarge it? and if you do, is it okay for YOU personally, (and hey, ethically and morally) to post these people regularly? because it will be regular……..

  100. Shweta June 25, 2014 at 06:15 #

I don’t see why your opinion of her – or anyone else for that matter – as a person should affect your opinion of her fashion choices. I respect the fact that your page has always been strictly about fashion, and has never passed snide remarks about anyone. Keeping that in mind, I don’t see the harm in doing occasional posts on someone, especially when some of their recent fashion choices have been interesting – irrespective of good and bad, because that is subjective. You being a prominent critic, I think a lot of readers would be interested in knowing your thoughts on some of her appearances. I don’t see why that has to clash with what you think of her or your family.

  101. phill June 25, 2014 at 08:23 #

I love RCFA for posting the good and the bad – however keeping it Kardashian-and-Jenner free would be well received. Their desperate need for attention is quite sad (point in case Kendall’s recent red carpet outing). And face it – if we need to catch up with the K&J’s we need only head on to any number of daily “news” sites and it’s all there in ghastly technicolour.

  102. Tehzeeb June 25, 2014 at 09:01 #

You know how people say ‘The kardashians are not a big deal’ and what not. I am not a huge kardashian fan, but neither do I hate them, but ill have to say one small post about Kim and there’s 184 comments in here. And people are still posting. Like it or not the woman is ‘controversial’. 😛
And as for the ‘debate’, Catherine it’s your blog do what you want. Although since this is about fashion, I don’t see how our personal opinion about a person comes into play.

  103. Maria June 25, 2014 at 10:40 #

I don’t see why we can’t look at pics, discuss, what kim is wearing. This is a fashion website. There’s no harm in posting pics of her clothes, its not gossip, and we’re not going to discuss what’s going on in her life. Its just her clothes.

  104. Lydie June 25, 2014 at 11:14 #

I like that your posts are always about fashion and never about gossip or materialism. The Kardashians and all their relatives are, therefore, irrelevant on RCFA. However, if you do think they should be featured, it is your choice, and if we don’t like it, we can always just skip their posts!

  105. MS Diaz June 25, 2014 at 13:12 #

Well I don’t mind either way however there are times (limited times I maay add) when I wondering about a dress or outfit wore by Kim that I would like to know more about. Then again I like this site the way it is.

  106. BurcuA June 25, 2014 at 13:24 #

209 comments is a new score. This girls know how to sell definetely even though they don’t have sense of dressing or whatelse!!You are giving priority to readers comments always so i prefer not seeing them everyday but you can share the ones you think interesting…

  107. marco petrarca June 25, 2014 at 14:05 #

I’m a great fan of this site, I’m following you since the beginnings.
I’m not a fan of the Kardashian but I think that you should post about fashion, it doesn’t matter if it’s a reality star or a singer, you should guide us in to the fashion word showing us good pieces and good ways of wearing them, no matter who’s wearing it!

  108. ayatlaw June 25, 2014 at 14:21 #

I love fashion. This site has been Kim-free for as long as I have been reading and I can’t say I have missed her. At NO point when I have seen her fashion choices on other media outlets (almost daily) have I wondered why she wasn’t featured here. She has a moment here or there with looking nice (nice) but it is not risk taking or flooring. She is not a fashionista no matter who loves her or not-its that simple. You hardly mention Beyonce and I would think that it is for the exact same reasons. Everyone has opinions and when you ask for them you will get various ones. You keep doing what you’re doing. I have yet to be displeased. In fact I get quite excited when I get your emails, or come to the site to discuss and give my opinion on FASHION.

  109. Vanashree June 25, 2014 at 14:26 #

    Hi Catherine
Please do NOT post about the kardashian clan.
Please keep this site trash free. Please it’s a request given how much I love this site.

  110. Jazz June 25, 2014 at 15:52 #

    Hi FC,

I think that Kim Kardashian and her sisters are massively famous international. There are other stars here who also are “famous for being famous” as many people like to tag the Kardashians. I also believe that sometimes they really do nail it on the head, and they have access to some awesome designer stuff.

And apart from all of that, I think it being so controversial is actually good for traffic to your site overall. People tend to comment on the features they loathe/love- and if you stopped featuring any controversial stars, the site would be both limited and a little boring

I also like having all my fashion news in one place. Truly the Kardashians are the only girls not featured that I have wish to see, so I go to other sites and check them out.

  111. Lisa June 25, 2014 at 16:40 #

We should be judging fashion, not people. I think you should post about anyone who is wearing something of interest. That would naturally lead to very limited posts about the K family.

  112. Amanda June 25, 2014 at 17:01 #

Nope. Don’t want to see her or any of them on here. To be honest I only click on anything concerning Kim Kardashian to have a laugh and for a little guilty tabloid-viewing pleasure. I don’t respect any of them or their sense of style at all.

My love for this site is not about celebs at all, because I really don’t care for most of them. I come here to see what people (who just happen to be celebs) wear at certain types of events. Not premiere’s or red carpets, but events that I myself would attend if I could: For example, boutique openings, the ballet, library and museum exhibitions, tea parties, luncheons and so on. Or when a particular designer has a retrospective or a private viewing.

I also really loved the segment a while back that featured the fashion editors and fashion bloggers’ street style a while back. I loved that and also when Catherine does posts on some of the events she hereself attends – would love to see more of those kind of things if possible.

  113. pinksugar June 25, 2014 at 19:56 #

IMO Kim is far more fashionable than Rita Ora (who is featured on here constantly). While I am no fan of Kim’s style to never feature her or her family is a bit much. On occasion I do enjoy what some of the Kardashian/Jenner clan wear and would like to see everyone here’s take on it. I feel as if Kim is a complete Kanye-bot when it comes to what she wears but there’s no denying she gets people talking.

  114. juanferguri June 25, 2014 at 20:07 #

I personally love the Kardashian klan, and i have to say that maybe Kim is not your favourite person in the world, but you must recognice that she has a really good fashion sense

  115. Marybeth June 25, 2014 at 22:58 #

I voted NO because I personally like RCFA being a Kardashian-free zone.

That being said, I think it’s okay to have occasional posts on them, especially if they are attending a major event like the Met Gala, Cannes, Oscars, etc. I just don’t want to see them on a regular basis.

You’ve got a tough choice, FC! We’re not helping you with our 50-50 split on the issue, are we? 😉

  116. David June 25, 2014 at 23:15 #

I do want to see the Kardashians on the site, this site is to discuss about FASHION not what people do with their lives o what decisions they make and whether we like it or not the Kardashians and Jenners are here to stay and sometimes all of them wear interesting outfits.
I agree with the comments suggesting that you should talk about them only when they appear at important events, like the MET Gala.

  117. Gabby M June 26, 2014 at 00:01 #

On this site Id like to see well any of the above, if they are wearing something desginer, I want to know what even they are wearing because I just want to keep fresh, I dont care who they are as a person they are relelvant to street fashion.

  118. mia June 26, 2014 at 00:16 #

I think you should not have included a poll for everyone to choose. The kardashians are already known for buying instagram/twitter followers.. I am sure they can get bots to rig this vote. I have a hard time believing that most of the viewers of this site want to see her here..which brings me to wonder why the poll of yes or no is neck on neck. Anyone feel the same way I do?
I for one am tired of being bombarded with news of them on twitter/facebook and other websites. There is nothing classy or fashionable about them. The only reason I liked RCFA and visit often is because I don’t have to see the likes of them on here.
If you want ideas of other famous people who need to be on this site.. please do more posts on Queen Rania,Sheika Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned or Ameera Al-Taweel… now those are fashionable icons who are worthy of being on RCFA. Not some sextape/reality show freak!

  119. Kelly June 26, 2014 at 00:43 #

This site is about posting interesting looks for events. If she had a good look at an event, then post it.

If there are postings that could be decreased, Kate Middleton would be at the top of the list. I don’t get her appeal and more so with the repeats. We don’t need posts of the same exact look worn again. Also, the professional party/store opening/charity event gala actresses could be reduced (Jessica Alba, Emmy Rossum, Camilla Belle). Lupita Nyongo was on the verge of being added to that list between her Oscar win and the Star Wars casting.

I don’t understand the appeal of a number of Asian and European actresses and personalities, but they seem to have their fanbases on this site. The Indian and South Asian actresses have a significant American and British fan following with most of their films getting released in larger metro areas with a significant South Asian expat population. I don’t see that following for Fan Bingbing’s Chinese language films in the US. She’s more known for her fashion than her acting abilities here.

  120. Mario June 26, 2014 at 00:44 #

I actually often watch Keeping up with the Kardashians and I do follow what they do. But I voted against Kim being featured here. Why?

I open RCFA regularly in order to look at some real fashion. Even though sometimes the outfits posted are boring or look hideous, they contribute to this celebrity culture by being original along with the people wearing them. I believe Kim, or the whole family for that matter, does not have a value no matter what she wears.

My point is, I follow the Kardashian/Jenner family in order to be entertained but I don’t believe they are, or ever will be, a real part of the fashion industry that I care about professionally and separately.

    • Mix June 26, 2014 at 15:52 #

I think you really overvalued the whole other celebrity world besides Nicki Minaj or Jessie J being fashion original when they dress to seduce the abuse while they nomally feature in here ? Lots of people have this serious prejudice against the kardashians which is kinda ridiculous.. Now the family have really earn the fashion approval, like some big campaigns or the front row appearance, people needn’t have those bias any more.

  121. mauimermaid June 26, 2014 at 04:36 #

Are you going to start an ethical and moral checklist of all the individuals whose fashion choices you are considering posting? If not, then I think you should stick to posts about fashion, whoever it’s on.

  122. Mix June 26, 2014 at 15:37 #

Come on!!!! I dont see any necessity to start a debate like this. If Kim look really great in some outfit, why bother to post? This site always has Rihanna , and she’s the same attention whore like Kim!! And if people blame for the sex tape thing, I dont think I see less tits from Rihanna than KIm!!

  123. fashioncore June 27, 2014 at 13:21 #

it seems to me that any decisions made about who should appear on this site should be based on fashion. drawing any other line is arbitrary and exclusionary. xoc
