Mindy Kaling In Marc by Marc Jacobs – Fox’s ‘Girls Night Out’

Mindy Kaling In Marc by Marc Jacobs - 'Girls Night Out'

Mindy Kaling attended Fox’s ‘Girls Night Out’ at Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre on Monday (June 9) in North Hollywood, California.

Continuing to showcase her love for fashion, the actress donned a fun Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2014 long-sleeved shift dress featuring the brand’s signature ‘Radio Waves’ print for the season.

Opting not to colour clash on this occasion, Mindy styled her look with black accessories, including her favourite Saint Laurent pumps and Miu Miu quilted shoulder bag with embellished detailing.

This is what I call a marmite dress, as some might love its flirty, playful appeal, while some might find the optical print really jarring.

I’m on the fence because I love it but if I look at it for too long the print will give me googly eyes.

She needs to step her shoe game up.

The dress is fun but the styling here is a let down

I agree Christine. Her Shoe Game is Angelina Jolie snoozey.

I don’t always love Mindy’s formal red carpet style, but for me she always nails the casual carpets/appearance looks. Her style is very accessible, fun-loving and fresh. I feel like she dresses for herself, not to immediately please convention

      Agreed completely!
That being said, I don’t love the make-up here, but love love the bag

Agree! For me, her makeup is jarring, not the dress.

I don’t think that the dress is very flattering on her.

I think the dress is fun, if a little dizzying. My main problem is with the makeup – I wish she’d gone for something a little lighter.

This dress would be a 1000x more flattering (not just on Mindy, on anyone) if it was sleeveless.

poor girl, the panda eye makeup does not suit her.

Has somebody else worn this dress before, or a similar? I love this, but I’m having a case of deja vu.

    Not loving this.

The makeup is far more egregious than the outfit. The dress isn’t the most flattering, but it is fun and playful and that really suits Mindy’s persona. The makeup is truly bad.

    1. The dress does not sit nicely on her: the waist detail needs to be completely horizontal.
    2. The situation is made even worse because she’s photographed from the top down.

I am intrigued, but the middle section kills this look.

Very aptly stated FC!Mm yes marmite comes to mind ,for me it is a big no.

The dress is not really flattering, either it’s the angle of a picture but the sides look like those of crumpled shirt dress. And makeup is way too heavy, but feels like she’s always wearing heavy makeup
