Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Martin Grant – ‘Belle’ London Premiere

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Martin Grant - 'Belle' London Premiere

Gugu Mbatha-Raw returned to the red carpet for the ‘Belle’ London premiere, hosted today (June 5) at BFI Southbank in England.

The British actress put her pins on display, skipping the gown route in favour of a Martin Grant Spring 2013 black playsuit that featured architectural folded detail and pleating.

The secret here was that she didn’t overwhelm the look with exaggerated styling, accessorizing with golden pendant earrings by Carolina Bucci, a few bangles and Christian Louboutin black lace stilettos.

The ensemble boasted a fun, flirty and chic vibe, all tied up into one fashionable package that Gugu wore quite well. Would you agree?

This was her hometown premiere. She should have gone all-out with a gown. I’m a bit bored.

+1 She is a lovely woman but this look is wrong for her. She is too naked.

A black playsuit, really?? Too tiny, twee, underwhelming.

how gorgeous is she………appropriate or not……cant look beyond her beauty….just like Frieda….there is earthiness in their beauty…soothing for the eye after seeing all the bottled dyed beauties who end up looking like each others clones

      I agree!

Such an adorable face but when it come to the dress she could have done so much better.

Interesting statement, especially when you put her next to the director of the film. The character she plays in the film does the unexpected, and this beautiful young woman is certainly doing that here. Seems to me that this choice is also differentiating her from the character she played who spent the entire film in gowns, after all. I love it.

I’m sorry. I just can’t get past the start of a movie showing up in shorts. If she were a teenager, perhaps, but for an adult woman, I don’t think so.
