Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture – 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior Couture - 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Marion Cotillard attended the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday (June 2) in New York City.

The French actress, who didn’t have the best time style-wise at Cannes, was of course wearing Dior on this occasion.

I love this Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture white embroidered silk dress. It’s sweet and playful with nuances which make it a directional piece.

The look was styled with lemon Dior pumps with an asymmetrical white strap, plus Dior Fine Jewelry including a ‘Miss Dior’ white-gold ring with diamonds and aquamarine, plus a Chopard white-diamond collar necklace.

Barely there makeup rounded out her look.

Much improved or much the same?

I don’t really understand this dress, but I think I might have liked it on someone like Kiernan or Elle Fanning.

      Ditto.

No…strange dress, not flattering and kind of ugly.

      Soo bad.

I think if the random swaths of fabric were at the hips instead of the chest, I’d actually like it the whole outfit. As it is, I really only like her styling.

+1 I agree that if the “nuances” were at the hip, like a peplum, I would like this look.

  5. Christine June 3, 2014 at 11:45 #

    Not a great dress

  6. Charlotte June 3, 2014 at 12:05 #

Absolutely not a good look. Two random doilies added to a dress is not good fashion. I love her & try to be positive, but Dior is so not great right now.

  8. Chanel June 3, 2014 at 12:40 #

Not working. IMO, all the actresses were a fail. Alessandra, Chanel Iman, Hilary Rhoda and others were so much better.

I didn’t think her Dior look at Cannes everyone hated was that bad. But this just… I don’t even understand this dress. o.O

  10. LeeAnn June 3, 2014 at 13:07 #

looks like she is wearing nipple curtains.I have no idea why or how this is based on Dior’s aesthetic.

  11. Nina June 3, 2014 at 13:47 #

How does she manage to choose the ugliest looks from Dior. I still think that their clothes are not that bad and she could look lovely in another Dior dress.

“directional”, another term for design gone bad, apt for the house of Dior. Marion remains firmly in my overrated column along with the brand she represents.

  13. Prudence June 3, 2014 at 15:01 #

that spring collection will go down in history as one of the worst couture collection. lord raf.

  14. pinksugar June 3, 2014 at 15:06 #

Lace parachute? Awful. I need her to lay off the Dior for a good long while.

  15. kane June 3, 2014 at 17:00 #

I don’t even care anymore. It’s so quirky, twee and downright strange that it even works for me. Somehow.

  16. Marybeth June 3, 2014 at 17:11 #

One of the things I love about Marion is her smile, the way she always looks so cheerful on the red carpet.
Lately, as Dior gets sillier and sillier, she sometimes looks as if she’s trying very hard not to burst out laughing.
(Well, I suppose I’m projecting my own feelings onto her!)

Seriously, i don’t even know what to call those flappy things – they’re ridiculous! HATE.

  18. adrian June 3, 2014 at 21:36 #

wow. she’s fallen off the wagon an rolled clean into a ditch.

  19. Rebecca Z June 3, 2014 at 22:00 #

    Awful dress. AWFUL.

  20. Dhppy June 4, 2014 at 01:09 #

    Very silly.

  21. lin June 4, 2014 at 06:19 #

Two words come to mind, fashion and victim.

  22. Prian June 4, 2014 at 10:29 #

Good lord, when will this Raf – Dior disaster end.
In the meantime, what should we call *that* ? Is it boob peplum? boob wings? boob veil?
