‘Clouds Of Sils Maria’ Cannes Film Festival Dinner

‘Clouds Of Sils Maria’ Cannes Film Festival Dinner

Following the ‘Clouds Of Sils Maria’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Friday, the cast attended a dinner party hosted by Chanel, with all three actresses donning a piece from the French brand.

Kristen Stewart: As you can see, the actress didn’t change out of her Chanel Spring 2014 nude tulle top and trousers embellished with sequins and embroideries, but she did swap her nude Christian Louboutin pumps for Chanel sneakers. I’m surprised she didn’t wear these on the red carpet to begin with.

Chloe Moretz: The actress, who wore Chanel throughout the festival, donned a pretty off-white lace Chanel dress with a layered skirt on this occasion which I want to wear to go dancing in a meadow full of daisies and buttercups.

Juliette Binoche: The actress changed out of her Armani Privé red carpet look for a distinctly Chanel ensemble featuring a black tweed jacket paired with a black silk shirt and skirt styled with a metal belt and a Chanel quilted black leather bag.

    I only like Chloe’s look.

+1 She was impeccable during the Festival!

        +1

    • kane May 27, 2014 at 19:03 #

I’ll agree with that. Not my style but the princessy vibe I’m getting from this works.

  2. Lana May 27, 2014 at 14:54 #

A sparkly work out attire all the way down to the sneakers is Couture? I cannot.

    Chloe looks lovely.

    • CTgirl May 27, 2014 at 20:59 #

Exactly! Those sparkly mom sneakers are terrible and can be had for the cost of cheap pleather Walmart sneakers and a bedazzler. The track suit is just laughable. Karl is laughing at us and what is now considered couture.

  3. Yeliz May 27, 2014 at 15:02 #

    Chloe looks very lovely.

    • Christine May 27, 2014 at 16:26 #

      The best here

  4. Ana May 27, 2014 at 15:15 #

    I love Chloe style!

  5. gabis May 27, 2014 at 15:16 #

The sneakers really don’t go with Kristen’s look. I’m glad someone convinced her to wear pumps on the red carpet.
My favorite here is Chloe. She looks impeccable. What a lovely, lovely dress.

  6. snowlion May 27, 2014 at 15:40 #

Chloe looks beautiful, fresh and young.

Those sparkly sneakers are ridiculous, even more so with the sparkly tracksuit.

  7. Julia May 27, 2014 at 15:44 #

    Chloe looks adorable!

So when can we expect her to do a Chanel campaign? lol

  8. justme May 27, 2014 at 16:00 #

    Chloë looks lovely.

With flat shoes, you can really see how terrible the jumpsuit is. I hope the people who were mad at the critics in the first Cannes post can simmer down now lol.
I don’t mind the fact that she ditched the heels but those Chanel sneakers are ugly and take the outfit in full workout mode. Some Keds or even clean Converses would have been much better.

    • JJ May 27, 2014 at 17:11 #

Kristen needs to realize that there are dressy flats she can wear.

  9. ForestyBali May 27, 2014 at 16:54 #

Well, i like what Kristen wore actually, i know im alone in this case.

    • Marcel May 27, 2014 at 17:25 #

you are not. I liked too.

  10. Marcel May 27, 2014 at 17:24 #

Why people are saying that Kristen’s outfit isn’t Couture ?
I am far from a fan of hers but I will vote for her. For the edginess of her look , for being true to herself and for daring to embrace a new silhouette on the red carpet.
Couture won’t survive only with Elie Saab’s over embellished princesses looks.

I agree with you so much. The reason I don’t often frequent this blog is because how bland people’s tastes are here. It’s a land of Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad and other princess-y or glamour gowns. It’s boring. I’m yawning just thinking about.

And anyone who frequently goes outside the box or tries to make something their own is repeatedly shut down in the comment section or by the blog owner. It’s so lame.

      • Catherine Kallon May 28, 2014 at 14:03 #

With regard to your comment, I never shut down people opinions. If that was the case I would’ve have comment section.

I often celebrate those who step outside the box, my putting up Riley Keough in Valentino was one of my favourites for best dresses

So I don’t think your comment is very fair.

      • julyol1972 May 28, 2014 at 20:47 #

You’re being incredibly mean-sprited right now because you happen to like something that others don’t. That’s the way of the world dear – deal with it! Not everyone has to agree, that’s what makes for a great site/blog/comments section. But to go after FC in your rant in incredibly unfair, as she’s championed the likes of Rinko Kikuchi, Tilda Swinton, Cate Blanchett, and several others who step outside the norms of fashion on a regular basis. Many of us readers are not into the “princess dresses” either, but we visit this site because of the diversity of fashion, and the wonderful commentary from both the owner and the other posters.

Here’s a thought, instead of being a total douchebag to Katherine, why don’t you take yourself and your opinion, and find another site more to your liking. Those of us who appreciate FC and the extremely hard work she puts into this site, will continue to come here and appreciate what she does for us. How about that????

        • Ruki May 29, 2014 at 07:34 #

Did you even read my comment?

You have a problem with the tone, fine. It’s not easy to find the right balance when writing online and I don’t always succeed. My apologies. But then you go on about me respecting other people’s opinions only to disrespect mine and tell me to leave. Cool. That makes perfect sense.

For your information, while I did like Kristen Stewart’s look on the red carpet (I thought they all looked great and, more importantly, comfortable), she’s my least favorite here.

Also, I already said that I don’t frequent this site for the reasons stated in my ‘rant’. If it makes my comment less mean-spirited to you, I don’t frequent gofugyourself for similar reasons.

Lastly, while it’s nice that you want to defend the blog owner, she has her own voice and is more than capable of speaking for herself and speaking well. As far as I’m concerned she does not need you for a protector, especially if this is the way you’re going to go about it.

          • julyol1972 May 29, 2014 at 21:23 #

Yes, I read your comment – a couple times actually!

And for the record, I didn’t disrespect your opinion. You stated untruths about the blog owner and I responded to you about that. I’ve been coming to this site for several years and have NEVER seen FC shut down any commentors opinions about others taking fashion risks. That may be true of some of the commentors on her site, yes. But to say that she does it, is untrue.

You’re correct, she doesn’t need me to defend her. But in this case, you are incorrect in your assessment, and I said so. It is one thing to state your opinion based on fact, and quite another to base it on untruths just to make a point or to agree with someone else.

I visit GFY often, but sometimes don’t comment because of the tone of the comments being posted. That has nothing to do with the site owners Jessica and Heather, which is also clearly the case here.

If you have an issue with “…the way I went about” my response to you, my apologies. But my unsolicited advice is that you don’t make accusations and not expect a defence. Especially when said accusations are grossly incorrect.

            • Ruki May 31, 2014 at 06:15 #

What you interpreted: I’ve been coming to this site for several years and have NEVER seen FC shut down any commentors opinions about others taking fashion risks

What I wrote: And anyone who frequently goes outside the box or tries to make something their own is repeatedly shut down in the comment section or by the blog owner. It’s so lame.

If it wasn’t clear the anyone in my original comment refers to the celebrities being featured, not the people commenting on the site. The latter would have been a silly accusation to defend considering my original comment was posted at all. And no, I’ve also never seen the blog owner shut down anyone’s opinions in the comments section.

You speak about the ‘tone of the comments being posted’ and that’s what I was getting at. There’s a certain derision, in the comments especially, when the person featured does not always adhere to what I think is the preferred style (imo conventional/pretty/fancy based off the types of looks featured on the weekly poll) on this blog.

I’ve spoken on this topic once before in Miley Cyrus’s 2013 Met Gala post. And it frustrates me to come back and see things remain that way. That’s all.

              • julyol1972 June 2, 2014 at 15:25 #

Your post appeared to call FC’s integrity into question when you made the comment that she shut commenter’s opinions down. Now whether that was your intent is beside the point, that is clearly how it was perceived. And evidently I wasn’t the only one who read it that way.

Again, if you have an issue with the commenters of the site, the simple solution is don’t visit. Same thing with the owner of said site, just keep it moving. But to throw out untruths just to make a point is ridiculous.

Thank God, Stewart only HAD TO wear these horrible snekaers out of sight. All that glitters is not gold… She looks ridiculous in them and she fortunately wore suitable high heels for the red carpet. Chanel and Lagerfeld are so overrated.

  12. Guest May 27, 2014 at 17:52 #

What on earth is Binoche wearing? Oh, Chanel again (surprise, surprise). The whole thing is ridiculous: the dress, the shoes, the handbag…. She looked spectacular on the red carpet. Here, she looks like an 80-year-old version of herself from the beginning of the previous century. Having seen what Dior has done to Lawrence since their cooperation started, I’m scared even imagining how Chanel will destroy Stewart’s perfect red carpet look with their outrageous outfits (those sneakers, ugh!). Balenciaga was so much better.

    • Lana May 27, 2014 at 17:57 #

Neither Lawrence nor Stewart have prefect red carpet looks or even their own style though. They both pretty much wear whatever their stylists give them no questions asked.

      • Ruki May 27, 2014 at 23:59 #

I agree with your first statement, but your second… if you’ve ever read an interview from Stewart’s stylist you’d know that’s 100% not true. If she’s wearing she likes it or was coerced into trying something new.

  13. pinksugar May 27, 2014 at 19:27 #

Those Chanel sneakers are a far cry better than other shoes we have seen Kristen change into so they get a pass from me. Chloe looks nice here but I again feel like her looks consume her. However, Juliette’s shoes are just plain ugly.

  14. Badaboum May 27, 2014 at 23:20 #

As much as I dislike Kristen Stewart’s look, I have to say I am slowly starting to like the fact that she doesn’t try to to fit into a mold and try to be someone she’s not. I don’t get her style at all, but at least she is not pretending to portray an image other than her true self… I like that… and I respect it…

  15. marie May 28, 2014 at 12:38 #

I realize Kristens stye is a point where opinions go far, far apart. Personally, I hate this look. You can’t wear an all sparkly jumpsuit with even more sprakly sneakers, and then this bracelet – and her hair doesn’t really go wih it either. I get that her taste is very different from mine, but it just doesn’t work! And it is very far from event-apropriate, too.

Now, Chloe. She definetly stands out here. She looks lovely, beautiful dress, totally her style, hair+makeup suit it, simple jewelry was just the right choice. Beautiful, simple yet apropriate for age and event. She stunned at Cannes this year, I loved everthing she wore.

The Chanelensemble is, well, it’s not a catastrophy, but it doesb’t knock me off either. It’s okay event-apropriate and I also think it’s very age-apropriate for wich it gets a thumb-up from me.

  16. admmgz May 28, 2014 at 20:19 #

I like Kristen’s look but still prefer her heels over those sneakers even though they’re much more comfy. I agree that maybe she could’ve wore Keds or something. I also like Chloe’s look. Unfortunately, I don’t like anything about Juliette’s look..
