Araya A. Hargate In Zac Posen – ‘Clouds Of Sils Maria’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

"Sils Maria" Premiere - The 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival

Araya A. Hargate made her second appearance on the red carpet during Cannes Film Festival for the ‘Clouds Of Sils Maria’ premiere this evening (May 23) in Cannes, France.

Fulfilling her ambassadorial role for L’Oreal Thailand, the actress wore yet another gown, but this time going down the princess route, which took up the majority of the red carpet, so you can guess the designer: Zac Posen.

The voluminous, strapless Resort 2014 ball gown, complete with dramatic train, looks like it belongs in a period drama.

I just love the subtle details on the bodice and the hem of the skirt.

Some may frown at the feathered clutch, but I think it adds a touch of personality to the look.

You’ve been screaming for more ‘go big or go home’ gowns at the festival, so does this satisfy your appetite?

Yeahhhh ! I love it, she looks like a Princess. I needed to see a gown like this before the end of the festival. This is definitely a “go big or go home” look. I love the clutch too.

This is definitely a “go big or go home” look.

      Amen! I love it too.

I like this look. Its a big gown and she is selling it to me. I love the addition of the featured clutch – adds the perfect amount of quirkiness to make it stand out. I just wish there was some color on her lips… make up reads a bit too nude.

I love big gowns when they’re done right; this isn’t.

    • Yeliz May 23, 2014 at 18:33 #

Exactly what I am thinking. I love me some voluminous, dramatic gown, but this one doesn’t work.

    • Marcel May 23, 2014 at 19:09 #

it reminds me Kate Holmes at the MET…

    • Christine May 23, 2014 at 19:54 #

      Exactly.

Couldn’t agree more. There’s a thin line between this dress and my bed’s eiderdown.

I really wanted to like this gown, because it gives us some drama that we lack this year, but this gown is not a good look. All the wrinkles and a lot of a fabric in the front and in the back are bringing down the look

    • rach May 23, 2014 at 18:47 #

Short of steaming the gown when she got out the car at the red carpet or making her walk the length of the Croisette I really don’t know how anyone could have avoided the wrinkles. It’s just an unfortunate part of big gowns and small cars that happens all the time.

Love this. She’s brought it this week on the red carpet. Surprised this gown wasn’t worn to the Met but she looks great.

  6. Ampere May 23, 2014 at 18:33 #

You’re so beautiful in this look, You look like a Princess.

  7. Ratta May 23, 2014 at 18:33 #

It go big with her step, she walk likes a little princess.and the gown is very elegant, for feathered clutch it was perfect on this events.

  8. ferne May 23, 2014 at 18:48 #

I would have loved it without the cape-y detail at the back. From the back it looks like she tucked excess cloth to the back or something.

  9. Marcel May 23, 2014 at 18:57 #

I am not liking it, sorry. As you said: “looks like it belongs in a period drama”, making it costumey, very much in the line of Kate Holme’s yellow Marchesa disaster at MET.
Besides that, it bothers me a lot those “princess dreams” in the minds of 21 century women. It is absolutely anachronic.

Nay, it’s a bit too ‘blanket couture’ for me.

this fabric never does it for me

  12. dee May 23, 2014 at 19:27 #

I like it but not loving it. The addition of that clutch was a good choice.

  13. Alex V May 23, 2014 at 19:34 #

I don’t like it, she looks like she’s wrapped up in a blanket

  14. marie May 23, 2014 at 20:32 #

It’s beautiful, the clutch is a nice addition. I just don’t like the pose… She doesn’t really sell the look – or the looks character.

  15. Katy May 23, 2014 at 21:09 #

I’m sure if you post this look as one of the best dressed list, all her fans will landslide vote for her like last time even though she can’t sell this look and she looks like just wrap all the blanket with her.

  16. Britta May 23, 2014 at 23:54 #

I’m a big fan of “Go big or go home”. But this looks like a giant duvet gone wrong! Beautiful in theory – but a bunch on wrinkles on the red carpet. Such a shame…

  17. Valissa May 24, 2014 at 00:02 #

I appreciate the effort but like others have said, she’s not selling it.
It’s not a a particularly great gown to begin with. All the girls in Zac Posen at the MET looked great but this is a fail…

  18. Dil May 24, 2014 at 04:35 #

I too think that the clutch is the best part of the look!

  19. hikari May 24, 2014 at 10:51 #

    pure & sweet.

  20. Kadear May 24, 2014 at 19:12 #

I like her pretty much like a princess. Probably like a quilt But it was more beautiful than the other. Just as some were

  21. Greatest Love May 25, 2014 at 13:29 #
