Sofia Coppola In Michael Kors – ‘Foxcatcher’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Sofia Coppola In Michael Kors - 'Foxcatcher' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Sofia Coppola took to the red carpet for the ‘Foxcatcher’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 19) as one of the jury members.

While she has failed to blow me away à la Nicole Kidman and Diane Kruger when they were on the jury, I can’t say I’m disappointed because my expectations weren’t high to begin with.

Tonight she wore a Michael Kors indigo silver studded dress from the Spring 2014 collection, which saw her step out of her favoured black comfort-zone – yet this is more Cannes photocall than Cannes premiere.

Had this been a gown I would’ve loved it more.

You may remember that Nina Dobrev wore this same dress earlier this year.

It would have been nice to see her wear a gown at least once. She doesn’t look bad but this is not exciting.

Exactly like my 50 something years old aunt dresses. Even the colour. And the ankle strap is not helping either.

Dull, underwhelming, lackluster. I’m bored with her Cannes non-worthy style, come on bring some spark and style.

This is not Cannes premiere material, but she styled this dress much better than Nina did.

Great little understated tea dress- cute but maybe not the most show stopping dress.

    So boring

I’m a bit annoyed with her for not even making an effort really. I know she has her own laid back movie kid style or whatever it is she has going on but I’d hoped that with her being on the jury she’d maybe make a little effort. I found the opening night Valentino just about passable, but this is just sad.
She has such a great figure, she could wear a gown just once, it wouldn’t kill her, surely Marc Jacobs, who knows her so well, could have made her a few gowns that would keep her style but be more Cannes appropriate.

Now that’s granny chic. No thanks, Sofia.

Nina Dobrev wore it much better and her styling made it look fresh. It falls flat on Sofia imo.

Please, she could make some more effort. We don’t need a ballgown–she can wear a fab embellished pantsuit or something. But this? This is feeble. It’s Cannes, for crying out loud.
