Sonia Rolland In Zuhair Murad – ‘Timbuktu’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Sonia Rolland In Zuhair Murad - 'Timbuktu' Cannes Film Festival Premiere2

There was so much to see and write about yesterday that I missed Sonia Rolland.

The French actress and former Miss France looked breathtaking attending the ‘Timbuktu’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Thursday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

Her Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 maroon beaded sheer lace gown with a cape detail at the back was made for the red carpet and deserves a spot on the BDOTW list.

Cate was great, but this is spectacular.

With the lack of spark on the red carpet at Cannes this year, I’m glad to see Sonia doing her best to reignite it.

Wow. The main photo is dazzling. The turn of the head, the elegance of her stance, her poise. The dress is almost secondary and we’re talking Zuhair Murad here. What a beautiful picture she makes.

Not loving it, a bit ice-skaterish and all the sheer makes it kind of tacky in my book. I do like the cape though. Her clutch doesn’t really go.
I’m missing Fan Bing Bing and Diane Kruger at Cannes, though Cate Blanchett and Nicole Kidman are doing well!

THIS is a Cannes-worthy look — eye-catching and elegant. I agree that the clutch could be better, but that is a minor quibble.
Considering the venue, I’ll have to give my vote to Sonia’s glamour over Cate’s more refined look.

Yes! Cannes-worthy glamour, indeed. The day was so blah, I would’ve chosen her easily had she been included in the poll, personally thought Cate’s look was utterly bland and non-standout, she was only best by default for me.

I love ZM dresses so I do like this but it’s missing the elegance and regal vibe of Cate’s so she still wins for me.

Oh,FC .Thank god you managed to write a post about this gal.she really ignited the whole night.I feel the same as you, this year’s red carpet lacks a spark. Only at this point do I realize how much I miss Diane Kruger and Fan Bingbing.

Yes! We need to see more of this! Gorgeous and BDOTW worthy

I instantly got a ‘Cheryl Cole at last year’s Cannes’ vibe from this dress.. same designer I guess. I do love the colour!

This is truly gorgeous. The illusion works very well and this gown looks great on her.

The clutch could have been better, but everything else is perfection; Cannes glamour!

    I don’t like this.
    It’s a little bit tacky.

      R U Serious???

      • Charlotte May 16, 2014 at 11:49 #

        yes I am.
I think the color, the hair and the make up make this look tacky, for me.
I know I am the minority here but it doesn’t change what I think 🙂

I love the dress but good on you for voicing your opinion.

I can see where you are coming from and I’m a bit conflicted about this. Considering this is indeed one of the best looks of day 2 I’d say day 2 was even more of a disappointment than day 1 taken altogether.
