America Ferrera In Georges Hobeika Couture – ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2′ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

America Ferrera In Georges Hobeika Couture - ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2? Cannes Film Festival Premiere

America Ferrera joined her ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ co-star Cate Blanchett on the red carpet this evening (May 16) for the Cannes Film Festival premiere.

Going the ethereal princess route, the actress looked beautiful wearing a Georges Hobeika Spring 2014 Couture lemon-hued gown with a beaded, scalloped-edged bodice and bow accent around the waist.

If I were to nitpick I would say that the bodice is a tad snug, but I love the styling, which included a matching Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch and orange lip, keeping up the orange-yellow theme from the photocall.

Marina B jewelry completed her look.

Yes, I too take issue with the bodice. Not flattering at the bust at all. Great styling though

I usually love America’s looks but I don’t think this gown is flattering on her. It doesn’t do anything to accentuate her beauty. I do like the gown, just not on America. So basically I like them both apart but not together.

She looks fat. Ivory doesn’t do her any favours.

      No, she really, really doesn’t.

The gown is really pretty and in my opinion she is looking gorgeous in it….xoxoxo….^_^

I’m very disappointed. The gown is cheesy. Nice skirt, but the bodice is bozy, too revealing, and kind of like a Barbie dress.

The gown is pretty but the squished breasts put me off the loving this. I’m still gutted that his Spring 13 couture collection wasn’t worn.

This is a disappointment. Not a great gown and not particularly flattering on her. A sad letdown.

She’s been a style revelation the past few months, that’s for sure. This isn’t my favorite, but she still looks beautiful.

Pretty dress but I don’t love the color on her and the bust looks terrible.

  11. Daisy May 16, 2014 at 20:17 #

The dress doesn’t suit her figure well

  12. dee May 16, 2014 at 20:16 #

Glad she brought some excitement but this gown is not flattering on her. Fit wise or color wise.

  13. justme May 16, 2014 at 19:59 #

I agree. The bodice does nothing for her. I like everything else though.
And apparently, some guy tried to crawl under her dress on the red carpet. Poor thing :/

yeah, not a fan of this look but I feel so sorry for her I can’t bring myself to say anything negative… poor thing. 🙁

  14. Yeliz May 16, 2014 at 19:48 #

I don’t really like the fit of the bodice either, but the overall look is charming. It’s a wonderful look for her first time on the Cannes red carpet.

    • Marybeth May 16, 2014 at 20:05 #

Yes! I really love that she went for a princessy moment here and her styling is perfect.
The odd fit of the bodice keeps it from being a great look but, as you say, it still has a delightful charm.

A dress to make me go hmmmmmmm frankly.

This feels too RomCom-princessy-American to me for something as Continentally-edgy as Cannes (read: ‘….I would like Cannes to be’ to be fair)

    • kane May 16, 2014 at 19:49 #

‘Edgy’ might not quite be the right word… ‘stylish’ maybe?

  16. from-chitown May 16, 2014 at 19:46 #

I am not liking this much. Its a pretty gown, but the top part is not very flattering on her.

  17. Christine May 16, 2014 at 19:45 #

    Not crazy about this look

  18. Nat39 May 16, 2014 at 19:44 #

Pretty gown but the bodice doesn’t work on her frame sadly, an unflattering choice.

    • Camille May 16, 2014 at 20:00 #

I agree. She’s too busty for this neckline. A modified V-neck or even portrait neckline would have been infinitely more flattering for her. And FC is right, it’s a little too tight in the bodice.

  19. Alina May 16, 2014 at 19:42 #

I like this! A lot. It’s her first time at Cannes and she probably wanted her princess moment; totally understandable.

  20. sophie May 16, 2014 at 19:42 #

This is a pretty look, but I’m not crazy about her in silk organza or tulle.
