Zoe Saldana In Jason Wu – ‘Mr Turner’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Zoe Saldana In Jason Wu - 'Mr Turner' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Zoe Saldana attended the ‘Mr Turner’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 15) in Cannes, France.

Following her summery look yesterday evening, the actress opted for a more darkly romantic look on this occasion, selecting a Jason Wu Fall 2014 gown.
The black gown with shawl-collar neckline was enriched with green embroidery.

Some of you have been slightly disappointed by the lack of ‘go big or go home’ gowns, so I’m very interested to hear your take on this look.

Does it lack the wow factor expected – no, demanded – at Cannes?

I love this look for an evening New York premiere or a Ballet gala event, but not for Cannes. I want BIG and UNABASHED GLAMOUR Zoe.

Yes! Thank YOU! This is so dull and frankly, disappointing

      • Camille May 15, 2014 at 20:14 #

        +1 dull

I’m not wowed – again. But this is much better than last night’s look. The embroidery is beautiful. But I’m kinda afraid that she will not going to wow us during the whole festival. I hope she proves me wrong.

Better, but not the best she’s capable of.

    • Kate May 15, 2014 at 19:59 #

I agree. This is better than yesterday, but still not her best. Hopefully she’ll WOW us later on!

  4. Jinny May 15, 2014 at 19:05 #

    Should’ve stayed a home.

What a waste. This is worst than the boring first look.

She was a flop last year too. Where is Eva Longoria?

All my excitement about her being at Cannes consistently is slowly dying. Another forgettable look.

  6. Pedro May 15, 2014 at 19:14 #

    She looks OK

  7. pinksugar May 15, 2014 at 19:15 #

Very pretty but not ‘wow’ enough for Cannes. She tends to be a bit boring for me on the regular these days.

  8. H May 15, 2014 at 19:16 #

Zoe can definitely do edgier than this but still like it on her, she looks beautiful.

I definitely didn’t expect this from Zoe. Remember, her Givenchy Oscars gown or her Armani Prive at Cannes 2011? This is totally underwhelming. Her face looks dare I say, pale.
I think it’s left to other L’Oreal girls – Aishwarya, Sonam, Eva to up the game.

This feels very fall-like moody, unexciting and somewhat depressing, her last night’s light and romantic look was better. But both looks lack the impact I was hoping to see from Zoe. She can do better.

wish she wore a brighter coloured lipstick and while this looks cool, joining the chorus of ‘need more glamour’.

When it’s Cannes, one expects some sort of divine intervention. You have to nail it and leave spectators reeling from the wow factor. This time apart from Zhang Ziyi, Blake Lively and Nicole Kidman on the Day 1, I still haven’t come across a look that just does it. This is edgy sophistication at its best and yet lacks ‘that’ something.

  13. dee May 15, 2014 at 19:24 #

She looks pretty but I want a wow moment. Zoe is one celeb who can pull off more risky looks.

  14. Susan May 15, 2014 at 19:25 #

    Beautiful.

  15. justme May 15, 2014 at 19:35 #

It’s even more underwhelming than her look from yesterday *sigh*
Over the years, I’ve seen that Zoe definitely can dress but I can’t remember if she’s ever had a WOW-inducing moment.
Maybe the drama that is required for Cannes isn’t for her.

I love the cutout detail on the side and the open back. A sexy sleek style that suits her!

  17. from-chitown May 15, 2014 at 21:17 #

Nope – its pretty, but at the end of Cannes none of us is going to remember this. Underwhelming again!!

      +1

Lean, elegant, exotic. A quiet look but a good one in my opinion.

    • CreoleLady May 16, 2014 at 00:25 #

I agree with you Emma and for me it is a quiet look that speaks volumes.

I loved the Valentino she wore last year and I love this look equally well. Her choice suits her ballet dancer’s figure and talent for carrying difficult/unexpected looks. Her hair is beautiful. J’adore the relaxed elegant edge.

  19. beta May 16, 2014 at 00:57 #

Zoe’s perfection. One of the best dressed celebs. Super consistent.

  20. Denise May 16, 2014 at 07:09 #

Pretty but no. Not for Cannes. Her make up needs some COLOUR. She needs to upgrade her game. She can do it.

  21. d May 16, 2014 at 09:46 #

sorry but i found it so boring, dont understand why everyone is always so in love with zoe

  22. kane May 16, 2014 at 12:07 #

    At least it says ‘evening.’
