Zoe Saldana was just one of many beauties to take to the red carpet for the ‘Grace of Monaco’ premiere, which also served as the opening ceremony of the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 14) in France.

Making a striking, romantic impression, the actress wore a Victoria Beckham Fall 2014 white pleated gown featuring an asymmetrical ruffled detail on the bodice and the brand’s signature gold link chain accent.

Christian Louboutin ‘Viveka’ gold sandals, a selection of rose-gold jewels and flowing locks ensured this was a head-to-toe scene-stealing look.

Oh my, it´s quite a big deal to get one´s design so prominently displayed on the carpet of the first big event @ Cannes. Posh chose a worthy ambassador. Zoe looks great! :-)

Beautiful look, but I can’t help feeling a little underwhelmed. I think I expected more from her.

Me too. The top reminds me of shells, which seems fitting for the French riviera but with the textile and the slightly looser fit this would also work perfectly as a dress for the beach.

    Suprising choice!!
She looks sweet.. like this look even if I was expecting a bit more.

She looks ethereal. I really like this. Surprisingly!

I’m SO disappointed by this look. I don’t like the gown and it’s way underwhelming for Cannes.

      +1 A bit boring.

Too much is going on here.
The hair, the earrings, the ruffled detail on the bodice and the gold belt… It would have been better without the belt and with her hair up or witout the earrings.

I am not loving this. This is Cannes – Day 1. Go big or go home. This looks quite limp in comparison to Blakes and Zhang Ziyi’s outfits.

I think this is the most high profile event a VB dress has ever been worn to. I love it except for one thing – I wish her hair was swept to the other side so we could see the beautiful ruffle detail better.

  8. dee May 14, 2014 at 19:00 #

I think I would have liked a somewhat smaller earrings and hair falling on the opposite side to not hide the ruffle detail on the bodice or either her hair is a romantic updo. I like this look just don’t love it.

What has gotten into our girl?? After that mess at the Met I was waiting for some redemption but man did she let us down! This is sooo boring, I would wear this to my HS grad not CANNES!

  10. justme May 14, 2014 at 19:08 #

Her hair should have been up and yes, the dress is way too safe for Cannes.

  11. Pedro May 14, 2014 at 19:10 #

    She looks gorgeous!

VB dress on Cannes… that makes me so happy!

  12. Rebecca Z May 14, 2014 at 19:14 #

Underwhelming. Her hair is really in the way, and doesn’t look full and lovely like it should.

    • Nat39 May 14, 2014 at 20:20 #

Leaves me underwhelmed as well, I expected more from her as usual. The hair should’ve been in a neat ‘do – it’s interefering with the statement ruffle.

    Gorgeous!
    BDOTW!

  14. pinksugar May 14, 2014 at 19:21 #

Pretty but boring. And I really don’t like the belt choice.

  15. Joy May 14, 2014 at 19:34 #

I’m not liking anything about this look. I really dislike the gown to begin with, the belt is okay, but those earrings are horrible. It’s all so very plain and boring for Cannes.

I love it. sometimes less is more

  17. Susan May 14, 2014 at 21:11 #

    Very pretty.

I really, really like this dress on Zoe. Loved it when I saw it on the runway.. She looks fresh and elegant and beautiful

  19. EmmaWoodhouse May 15, 2014 at 00:21 #

Beautiful and ethereal…yes, this is the Zoe I love.

  20. Bec May 15, 2014 at 02:53 #

This looks more like a maxi dress than a gown to me. She looks under-dressed compared to the others.

  21. cherrysoftness May 15, 2014 at 03:33 #

This is lovely, but this would’ve hit the jackpot on a Cannes photo call, not a premiere (and certainly not on the opening ceremony). It is gown-like and I really like it, but I would have been blown away by the romanticism and effortlessness of this look combined on a daytime open-air event, especially with the fabric used.

  22. JOSH May 15, 2014 at 04:10 #

I really like this dress on ZOE, it feels like it ws made for her. Nonetheless the hair is ruining the moment for me. It should have been straight and loose, but hanging behind the shoulders not in front. The way it was fixed, it competes and hides with the chiffon detail which is the main focus of the dress. Also the earrings could have been a little bit simpler, same length same color, but simpler in shape, maybe a ruby drop earring could have been perfect.

Oh Zoe…she’s not my favorite fashion girl so I guess I’m not disappointed but still, this is Cannes and while she looks lovely I just can’t get on board with this safe look.
