Katy Perry In Valentino Couture, Roberto Cavalli & Fausto Puglisi – Prismatic World Tour

Katy Perry ValentinoKaty Perry recently paraded out a trio of colourful designer looks, launching her Prismatic World Tour in Belfast, Ireland on Wednesday (May 7) on nothing short of a vibrant note.

Look 1: Flaunting cotton candy-hued hair, the songstress channeled her inner flower-child in a Valentino Haute Couture dress and cape, designed especially for her by Creative Directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. A rather whimsical creation, the fluttery tulle gown is embellished with butterfly wing inserts on the bodice and flying butterflies on the skirt, while the cape added to the fanciful flair, as it was embroidered with nacre micro sequins and lined with a multi-colour organza butterfly. A sunflower-adorned microphone stand and glittery flower guitar only enhanced the free-spirited mood.

Katy Perry Roberto CavalliLook 2: The complete opposite of her flowing butterfly confection, this hot little Roberto Cavalli ‘Crocodile Scarab’ number features two micro pieces: a sporty halter top and a full pleated skirt. Playing into the ‘Prismatic’ theme, the design is emphasized by a multi-reflection effect created by the mirrored multi-coloured leather, with a crocodile graphic appliqué on a multilayered light mousseline silk lamé fabric.

Katy Perry Fausto PuglisiLook 3: The ‘Dark Horse’ songstress and style chameleon was also walking like an Egyptian in a Fausto Puglisi design, created by hand in Italy. The customized lilac silk jersey leotard with gold lamé and crystal hand embroidery, worn with a matching silk cady hand-embellished collar, a fringed, studded gladiator skirt and lilac over-the-knee boots proved the ultimate stage costume for Katy’s quirkier side.

Of his signature look for the singer, Fausto said, “I am so happy to be a part of this larger than life creative adventure. Katy is a modern pop warrior—fearless, independent and so colorful! I was inspired to reference my love for Hollywood magic, and passion for freedom and self-expression to create a Cleopatra dream.”

Katy Perry Moschino

Look 4: Quirky Katy came out to play when she donned her fourth look from Moschino featuring a biker jacket, skirt and cycling shorts. This bold look paid homage to the 80s with Happy Smiley Faces, Peace Signs and high-top sneakers. On this occasion she donned a green wig, just one of many wigs she wore during this concert.

While Miley Cyrus has built much of her world tour wardrobe on bodysuits, thanks to a glitzy collaboration with The Blonds, Katy has provided us a far greater kaleidoscope of looks—from cutesy to Cleopatra. Which do you prefer?
