Rosamund Pike In Louis Vuitton – 2014 Met Gala

Rosamund Pike In Louis Vuitton - 2014 Met Gala

Forgoing a gown, Rosamund Pike attended the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Also somewhat forgoing the theme, like so many others, the British actress wore a Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 croc zipper vest paired with an embroidered spiral skirt.

Styling the look with Louis Vuitton ‘New Day’ pumps, a gold LV trunk necklace and Jennifer Fisher rings, this look is quite a side step for the Erdem-loving actress, who doesn’t normally toe an edgy line.

Did she pull the look off for you?

I don’t like the shoes neither the dress.
And it’s not event-appropriate. Could have worked for a photocall.

Was this year’s ball an elaborate joke?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many ugly dresses in one red carpet, not to mention how completely wrong for the occasion 99% of the choices were.

Lol agreed. This is a no go!

      Completely agree.

lol it was really a head scratcher.

Totally agreeing. I usually try to look on the bright side but there has been a LOT of terrible looks. Some beautiful and brilliant ones, too–when they’re good they’re GOOD (Karolina, for instance) but overall just a ridiculous inattention to the theme, to good taste, and to fashion.

Totally agree. So many tragic looks, and very few that took my breath away.

Would’ve been nice for a movie premiere, but not for the Met Gala.

    • Alina May 6, 2014 at 12:51 #

      I agree.

If she was going for a drink, that look is fine but not for this year’s MET.

I love Rosamund and she can do feminine and beautiful, so why the hell this happened is beyond me. I mean it’s completely inappropriate for the event. Who even thought this was a good idea? Fire the stylist.

Am I the only here one disappointed to the fullest degree ?
This year was by far, the WORST Met Gala in recent memory.
How many people just ignored altogether the dress code ? It is really disrespectful to Anna Wintour, more over when the Costume Institute has just been named after her and she is by far its biggest fund raiser.
This is ridiculous as an inappropriate joke.
I guess she got a life long supply of LV goods for
    wearing this “thing”.
I am glad I didn’t waste my night watching it.
    DECEPTION OF THE YEAR!
Hopefully we can expect better for Cannes.

I meant ” the only one here “, sorry.

    • justme May 6, 2014 at 14:00 #

Did Anna herself even respect the dress code? Her gown didn’t really scream Charles James imo.

In her defense I have to say that at least it is couture, not just a ready to wear “I am going to have a drink with my pals ” kind of get up.

          lol true

So both Michelle Williams and Rosamund Pike wore inappropriate LV dresses that do not match the theme or the event?! Were the head honchos at LV not bothered to custom make gowns this year? It’s all very baffling to me…

as disappointed as this 2014 met gala red carpet was, I agree with many others in the fact that this is not even appropriate. But boy, she looks great and I want to own every piece she is wearing!
