Margot Robbie In Prada – 2014 Met Gala

Margot robbie in prada met gala 2014

Margot Robbie was at the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

The ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ star wore a Prada custom designed powder blue silk organza tee-length dress. The transparent top, which overlays a satin bralette, featured a high ruffle neckline and geometric mirror embroidery. The skirt is enriched with large black plexi plates.

She complemented the look with grey satin ankle strap pumps and a black satin clutch with a jeweled closure, all by Prada.

Robbie styled her brunette hair in a sleek updo and as always, her makeup was flawless.

Now, obviously she took a fashion risk. And I will say that if you’re going to take a fashion risk, you take it with Prada. But no, I just can’t get myself to make sense of that dress. Sorry!

This is just ugly and confusing..the fact that she is at the Met Gala makes me forgive her for this though…all the wacky outfits come out at these events

  • Elisabet

What is it with her lately?? I like her makeup, but still waiting for her to wow me like she did with the Gucci moment at the Globes.

  • EmmaWoodhouse

I can’t even tell you how much I want to put a BAN on Prada. LOL maybe this sounds extreme but I am FURIOUS with them tonight! *tries to calm down* šŸ˜€

  • kane

I know I shouldn’t, but I like the top. There, I said it.

  • Joy

Man Prada can ruin a good thing. This getup has some beautiful qualities, but the swimsuit top completely ruins any chances of it being a winner. Not sure what they were thinking but that is never a good look.

  • Marcel

Another Prada fail, as expected. I agree with Prudence. Miuccia should stop doing red carpet altogether. Better, she should stop doing dresses in general and stick on shoes and bags.

  • Yeliz

I don’t like the rop part of the dress, it looks like we can see her bra. The skirt is nice, but overall I’m not on board.

    • Yeliz

      *top part

I am not a frequent commenter but nice in a while I feel I have to voice my opposite opinion. I actually love the dress, I think it fits perfectly and makes her look radiant. I love to embellished top, I would drop the neck detail but I don’t think it ruins the look that much…

  • This dress is a mess. It’s like two dresses put together. I would get rid of the skirt and extend the bodice into a full dress with the bodice covering the breast so that she doesn’t need to wear a satin bra who’s straps throw the whole thing off. The severe hair style is also not helping. Not a win for me.

  • Valissa

I don’t actually hate this. In fact I love the skirt! I do wish the top wasn’t sheer, it would’ve improved the overall look.
I’m also glad that she’s no longer rocking jet black hair. It was so harsh on her! She looks beautiful again.

    • Jones19

I agree, I really like the skirt and the top was good until I realized it was see through.

  • Dhppy

Now this is the Prada I know and hate.

      lmao exactly

    • cherrysoftness

      I laughed so hard!

    • Christine

      Lmao yes! This is awful

    • Lashae

      lol mte

  • Alina

This is sad. A gorgeous woman in an ugly dress.

  • Prudence

Prada really had the worst looks of the night. Miuccia should never be allowed to make a dress again. This is beyond horrid.

  • Amanda

It’s like a very expensive beach cover-up. You know it’s awful when it is unflattering on someone as beautiful as Margo Robbie. Mind boggling to say the least.

  • Bree

From the chin up she looks amazing. But the rest is a no from me.

  • Jess2

I think it is the ruffled high neckline/turtleneck that ruins this. I think I would like this more with a different neckline.

    • Kate

I agree. I maybe could get on board with a different neckline.

  • effieee

The mock-turtleneck dramatically shortens her neck. And it’s not exactly the most flattering dress either.

On the bright side, her makeup looks flawless.

    • adrian

+1 and can we discuss those awful-in-the-most-prom/wedding-satin-way shoes?
