Kate Upton In Dolce & Gabbana – 2014 Met Gala

Kate Upton arrived at the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

‘The Other Woman’ actress and model, showed off her stunning physique in a Dolce & Gabbana black and sheer tiered gown. Starting off at the top with sheer tiers and a corset, the dress continued down with more tiers and the flowed into a train.

Her golden locks were up in a relaxed do with a black flowered hairpiece and added, salmon and green chandelier statement earrings and a matching necklace. Like her hair, her makeup was light bringing focus to her coral coloured lips.

Although Kate looks like an Italian muse, I find that the look has too many distractions; it’s too busy. At the very least, I wish she would’ve skipped the jewelry.

What would you guys change from this look?

Darling, this is tacky and horrible.

    • Yeliz May 6, 2014 at 07:45 #

      Exactly.

    • EmmaWoodhouse May 6, 2014 at 13:02 #

You said it! LOATHE this. She looks like a matronly Renaissance madam.
Not a good look AT ALL.

      • Sophy May 6, 2014 at 13:38 #

Agree- she has horrible instincts…… its like she is auditioning for the best little whorehouse in Texas!!!!

  2. Bec May 6, 2014 at 01:35 #

    Two words: Hot mess.

  3. Lisa May 6, 2014 at 01:35 #

What would I change? Absolutely everything. I would be embarrassed to have any connection with this look. WDOTY.

    • Lashae May 6, 2014 at 06:35 #

      +1

  4. CTgirl May 6, 2014 at 01:36 #

A draped bed sheet would look better and less porn star than this thing.

  5. Mayra May 6, 2014 at 01:37 #

If Bridget Jones had ever attended the MET Ball, she’d look exactly like this

  6. Amanda May 6, 2014 at 01:37 #

I think the head piece and the jewelry look ridiculous and the dress does nothing for her.

  7. KC May 6, 2014 at 01:37 #

    Lol

    What would I change? Everything.

  8. Patricia May 6, 2014 at 01:38 #

    She looks very, very wide.

    • Jess May 6, 2014 at 17:30 #

Agreed. I can’t understand why she looks so wide here … and the headpiece is a mess.

  9. Nat39 May 6, 2014 at 01:38 #

This looks cheap, the jewellery and the hairpiece are too much.

  10. E Roach May 6, 2014 at 01:40 #

UGH. My immediate reaction was “are you kidding me????” Someone employed in fashion let her walk out the door styled like this? Again, ugh. Nothing is cute AND nothing goes together.

  11. Mm May 6, 2014 at 01:40 #

First word that can’t to my mind, disheveled. The jewelry looks so cheap

  12. tom May 6, 2014 at 01:40 #

i’m trying to find something nice to say…it’s a costume gala not a costume party.

  13. Eri May 6, 2014 at 01:41 #

The most funny thing is she looks utterly confident in this ridiculous outfit!

  14. grazia May 6, 2014 at 01:43 #

Well she’s giving the right ‘tude to carry it off, I would start the fluff of the skirt much lower down so more of the dress would be showing her figure. As is, it’s making her look heavier than she is. But I love the vibe of the Italian curvy bombshell, even if she is blonde :) She’s still learning what works for her in red carpet photos, which is not necessarily the same as what works otherwise. She’s progressing though. Really like the concept.

      ITA

  15. Carolina May 6, 2014 at 01:44 #

HORRIBLE! She thinks she can wear anything cuz she’s a model… But looks tacky!

  16. Hermoine May 6, 2014 at 01:44 #

If the theme was wild west saloon then sure it is fine, otherwise NO!!!
The fact that a designer actually claimed this mess is sad.

    • Christine May 6, 2014 at 01:47 #

Girl, wait until you see Rita Ora. LOL. I can’t

  17. grazia May 6, 2014 at 01:45 #

Well she’s giving the right ‘tude to carry it off, I would start the fluff of the skirt much lower down so more of the dress would be showing her figure. So it would be more of an ankle mermaid than mid leg mermaid. It cuts her line in the wrong spot for her and it’s making her look heavier than she is. But I love the vibe of the Italian curvy bombshell, even if she is blonde :) She’s still learning what works for her in red carpet photos, which is not necessarily the same as what works otherwise. She’s progressing though. Really like the concept.

    • Virgin May 6, 2014 at 20:05 #

      ITA +1

  18. sean May 6, 2014 at 01:46 #

    Get another dress

  19. Joy May 6, 2014 at 01:48 #

I keep looking at this trying to find something redeeming, but unfortunately it’s just plain bad.

  20. dee May 6, 2014 at 01:49 #

Nothing about this is working for her.

  21. Jess2 May 6, 2014 at 01:50 #

Her makeup looks nice. Complete mismatch between her attire and her jewelry and that head piece needs to go!

  22. pepe May 6, 2014 at 01:52 #

she looks like a italian widow

    • Prudence May 6, 2014 at 15:04 #

YES!!! That the first thing I thought. It’s too bad D&G made such an ugly and unflattering dress for her

  23. Carrie May 6, 2014 at 01:52 #

Whatever they were going for here completely did not work. Wow.

  24. Parvati May 6, 2014 at 01:52 #

I don’t like this look at all. Besides the fact that it doesn’t really suit the theme of the event, I don’t like the headpiece and I don’t find the silhouette really flattering.

  25. Edie May 6, 2014 at 01:56 #

It’s like a Bugs Bunny-in-drag costume. Unless you’re trying to seduce Yosemite Sam… just no.

  26. Erin May 6, 2014 at 02:00 #

There is absolutely nothing likeable about this.

  27. Markness May 6, 2014 at 04:17 #

That dress is horrible. Sorry Kate. You know I love you.

  28. Valissa May 6, 2014 at 06:58 #

Horrible!! How is this Dolce & Gabbana? Did she not look in the mirror before leaving? How did her people allow her to walk out like this? So bad!

  29. Dhppy May 6, 2014 at 07:01 #

It’s like she’s going for a hot version of La Saraghina from 8 1/2.

  30. amy May 6, 2014 at 08:29 #

the jewelry is a big no, looks cheap and the dress makes her even wider. b for the effort

  31. Marcel May 6, 2014 at 11:00 #

    WHAT????
    what is this ?????
Honey, NO. Just don’t. Don’t even try.

  32. sara May 6, 2014 at 12:03 #

i can’t believe at this event we have WDOTY more than BDOTY or even BDOTW anyway liu wen and karolina kurkova are the only ones who wowed me.

  33. solveig May 6, 2014 at 12:11 #

I really like Kate Upton, but this is just awful.
It makes me feel sorry for her – she looks terribly uncomfortable.

  34. Pedro May 6, 2014 at 12:40 #

    What??? Terrible!

    WDOTY

  35. snowlion May 6, 2014 at 12:55 #

    Awful.

  36. Alina May 6, 2014 at 13:48 #

She somehow reminded me of Sophia Loren. I’m not sure that’s a good thing.

    • Marcel May 6, 2014 at 17:53 #

Sophia Loren has more class and elegance in the tip of one finger than Kate Uptown has in her entire body.

      • Alina May 13, 2014 at 16:33 #

Totally agree with you. Only that Kate is 21 y.o., whereas Sophia Loren is 79 y.o. .

  37. Appu May 6, 2014 at 14:27 #

She looks like she was plucked out of a Downtown Abbey episode

  38. Hannah May 6, 2014 at 14:42 #

Looks like Chiquita Banana in mourning. Yikes.

  39. gtiw May 6, 2014 at 15:08 #

    It’s really weird

  40. Stel May 6, 2014 at 17:36 #

Such a huge no!! And the necklace seems so cheap, like it’s plastic

  41. Effy May 6, 2014 at 20:48 #

I hate it! Super tacky and one of the worst dressed of the night.

  42. Stephanie @ Whole Health Dork May 7, 2014 at 12:09 #

I agree–one too many things going on here. There’s a lot going on with the dress as is, let alone adding all of the jewelry and the headdress. Less is more…
