Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Lanvin – 2014 Met Gala

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Lanvin - 2014 Met Gala

Gugu Mbatha-Raw continued her love affair at the ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ Costume Institute Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Wearing a custom Alber Elbaz look for the second time in a row, the British beauty looked divine in her lustrous black and white abstract floral silk-jacquard tea-length strapless dress with matching ankle-strap pumps, a black python oval Lanvin clutch and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.

Silver eye makeup, shimmering pink lips and a silver floral hair accessory completed her head-to-toe perfect look.

Gugu appears to be well on her way to becoming a major fashion player.

    I agree.She looks absolutely adorable.
“on her way to becoming a major fashion player”, please Miuccia Prada, don’t even look at her.

“please Miuccia Prada, don’t even look at her….” ROTFLMAO, comment of the evening. I truly detest Prada after what she did to Lupita Nyung’o and almost everyone who wore the brand this evening.Prada is a WDOTY nominee imo — worst designer of the year for being consistently inconsistent and downright ugly on the regular.

Gugu looks sweet here but could do so much better.

AMEN to both your comments about Prada!
Love this look. It was subtle but one of the best.

I would have added a pair of earrings, but she looks lovely.

I like the dress but not the shoes

I don’t like the matching shoes but I like the rest. She’s really stunning.

The matchy matchiness doesn’t work here. The dress is beautiful.

I think the dress makes her look shorter. Don’t like the shoes and she needs more bling.

  8. Anne Gallagher May 6, 2014 at 15:13 #

    Very pretty and event appropriate.

  9. Moxie May 6, 2014 at 15:38 #

Very pretty, but not memorable. The matchy-matchy shoes make it look more prom or bridemaid like.

Could anyone look more adorable than that?

Huh? These shoes are unforgivable! The rest is okay but nowhere near what the green showstopper last week had promised.
