Greta Gerwig In Theory by Olivier Theyskens – 2014 Met Gala

Greta Gerwig In Theory by Olivier Theyskens - 2014 Met Gala

Greta Gerwig brought some drama to the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

She wore a custom Theory by Olivier Theyskens black and white tonal gown featuring an asymmetrical sheer yoke, a lined flutter sleeve and a rise-and-fall hemline.

It was one of my favourites of the night, on a night where going big and stepping out of your comfort zone should be the norm.

Wearing a high, tight bun, she styled her look with cat-eyes, red lips, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Sergio Rossi satin platform pumps.

J’adore from head to toe.

It’s a very interesting dress and maybe her best look ever.

Wow, this was very unexpected. The gown is very original. Even though I don’t like the shoes, she looks gorgeous.

I really dislike the hair and makeup. the bun is so tight it makes her head look odd. the dress is really interesting (great skirt) but the shoes are meh

    oddly boxy

I agree. There is potential but it’s not working out very well imo.

I don’t like the mesh part of the dress but other than that it’s a nice look.

Call me crazy but I really like this!

Seriously unflattering. Makeup & hair are too severe, bodice does not fit – makes her look boxy – and the skirt is just ridiculous. Interesting fabric does not make up for a poorly cut design.

+1 . Sorry, but there’s nothing to j’adore here, least of all the hair and make-up.

Love this look, everything is working except those shoes, a nice pair of black nudist would’ve worked wonders with this.

Agree it looks boxy and makeup and hair are too severe. Maybe it just didn’t photograph well, but I don’t like the look
