Bee Shaffer In Alexander McQueen – 2014 Met Gala

"Charles James: Beyond Fashion" Costume Institute Gala - Arrivals

Bee Shaffer joined many of the biggest names in fashion and Hollywood on the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Anna Wintour’s daughter wore a custom Alexander McQueen in pale blue washed duchesse satin with a dramatic tulle mermaid-inspired skirt.

The cool-as-ice color, the asymmetry, and the total drama here make this a stunning addition to a night full of high fashion.

I do wish that Bee had opted for something a bit more dramatic with her hair, but perhaps the simple chignon was the way to go to make sure the dress got all the attention.

The most cheesiest McQueen look I have ever seen.

This is not getting off to a good start for me, I’ve only liked one look so far. This dress is horrible. She looks like she’s getting sent off to prom. I hate all the fabric, it doesn’t look beautifully tailored but instead like it’s pinned together with safety pins. And McQueen is my favorite brand so this is not easy.

Don’t like the satin fabric. The dress looks wrinkled and cheap.

The assymetry, the ice-blue colour… def. reminds me of one of the CJames’s creations, she is perfectly on theme with the vintage glamour and her elegant styling works beautifully.

I can’t believe that this is McQueen. It looks so cheap. I don’t like this look at all.

      Exactly what I was thinking.

That gown is a work of art. She could very much be wearing one of the exhibition’s dresses.

I love this. First to make my jaw drop for the night. It is definitely that forward-thinking, architectural kind of design that makes Charles James stand out. Love it!
